Me and my crew just got done with a long day but we still needed dinner. They were pretty tired so I decided I'd just get some Thai/Chinese take out and bring it back to the hotel. We have full kitchens in all the rooms where we're staying along with plates and all the set ups. The rooms even have dishwashers! So, I found this S T Noodle Bar near by and decided to give it a try. I kinda know what there guys like to eat, so I just ordered a bunch of food. The only request from anybody was for Pad Thai, the most common dish at all Thai restaurants. I GPS my way over and order the food. I was Khao Soy on the menu and I don't see that at too many Thai places that I've been to, so I got an order of that with chicken. Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room. All the food was really tasty and everybody was happy not to have to leave the hotel. I heard compliments on the Pad Thai and the Coconut soup. It was a pretty good-sized space, with light and bright decor. It wasn't crowded and we were able to get a table for 4 with no problems. We ordered as a group and I got to try the following items: - spring rolls with shrimp and tofu (the rice noodles were a little on the hard side, but overall ok) - fried calamari (interesting presentation with the rings hanging on the branches of a metal tree. They were large and looked more like onion rings. Not bad, but I prefer lighter batter. Checked out S T Noodle Bar today and had a good experience! We were eating with an infant so high chair friendly was a must. We were greeted and helped right away and got a place in the restaurant that fit us well. We ordered the veggie spring roll, tofu soup, beef pad thai and tom yum. The veggie spring roll tasted fresh and the sauce added a nice layer of flavor. Off the bat, the portion sizes for the tom yum and pad thai were VERY generous (from my experiences with Thai restaurants). The pad thai stood out and was absolutely delicious! The service did great with helping us out and attending to our requests. The ambiance was relaxed, and where we sat in the back was cool because there was upbeat music playing loud enough to muffle the surrounding sounds but still soft enough to have conversation at our table without needing to raise our voice. I love ST Noodle Bar! This place serves up a mean Thai boat noodle. I also enjoy their veggie egg rolls and Thai tea. I recently tried their spring rolls, but they just weren't for me, they had an almost bitter taste. Wow....what an amazing lunch. It's been a long while since I have visited this cute little Thai restaurant. My daughter and I enjoyed every dish we ordered. The papaya salad, which mild was still spicy, but delish nevertheless. Pad thai hit all the layers of sweet and savory and last, but not least the yellow curry with chicken.....so rich and flavorful. They have an amazing papaya salad! I usually just come here for that and sometimes a Thai Iced Tea. The lighting is so dim that I thought a chili was a carrot. I was in such shock when I bit into it that I quickly put my fingers into my mouth, threw the chili right out and started laughing at myself. With a few couples surrounding me, I get why their trying to go for that romantic vibe. I dig the soft jazz too! I just hope I didn't ruin their dates by my bad table manners. Whoops. My server was very kind and quick to refill my drinks. I didn't tell her about my chili incident, but I did leave it sitting on my napkin partially chewed to give it some attention just in case it wasn't supposed to be there. Delightful dinner and service! Casual spot but the food was top notch. Our server was sweet, friendly and attentive. We stuck to the basics for our meal, but I thought they were some of the best I've had! Our spring rolls were huge. I usually prefer a thinner, more acidic dipping sauce but their house sauce was actually perfect! I think it was a hoisin based creation. The entrees were well prepared and flavorful, with the perfect amount of spice. The pad thai was delicious, authentically drier versus saucy. Eaten with the curry it was a divine bite. The Panang curry sauce was addictive. Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items! We found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant, and it was a 30 minute but the hostess said it was no problem. We (party of 4) started with the Crying Tiger and Gyoza dumplings appetizers and they were both delicious, but we were just getting started and there was more to follow. For the main course, we ordered the Eggplant with basil (with pork add-on), the Pla Rad Prik (fried fish fillet) and Khao Soi (my wife's favorite dish) and they were cooked to perfection. Entered the restaurant and was greeted nicely by the host. Sat down by the window. Our menus were handed to us, a few minutes later our server came by to ask us what we wanted to drink and eat. Ordered a Pepsi and sprite. Rib noodle soup and coconut flavored chicken soup. 5 minutes later our food was ready and was served to us. I was honestly impressed how prompt the service was. Kudos to that. Our food was delicious! No complaints. Everything was perfect for our first time dining experience here at this location. Also, Kudos to our server Pete! He was really nice. Pete and the staff kept asking us if we were okay and satisfied. Refilled my soda at will. They really care about their customers. Very genuine attitude. This place is a hidden gem. Saw a reel/tiktok about their rib eye noodles and had to come try. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Rib eye khao soi - so much flavor. It's like a curry noodle soup. So rich and creamy, rib eye was cooked to perfection - soft and tender. One of our favorite dishes hands down. We also got the crab fried rice - generous portions of crab. Loved it. Eggplant with tofu - eggplant was good. We weren't a fan of the tofu used but that's okay. We all have different preferences. My friend and I came on a Thursday night at 8pm. They close at 9pm. So the place was a little empty but didn't mind it. Quality of food was great despite nearing closing time. Inside has plenty of seating. Super clean inside. Staff was super friendly. I had Beef Khao Soi (medium) from this place (I dined in) yesterday for lunch and I had a very very very bad food poisoning. This was the only thing I ate yesterday too. I was on the toilet from 6pm all the way to 11am the next day (today). I don't know what happened but this is not okay. I couldn't eat anything else until 1pm the next day (today) and my stomach has been gurgling and in so much physical pain. Truly messed up. I still hear my stomach gurgling as I type out this review. My coworker told me that I should call the restaurant to let them know I got food poisoning from eating their food but I'm not sure if they'd do anything about it considering this below was my experience with their service yesterday When I came in, I asked the server if there was anywhere I could charge my laptop while I eat lunch, and she said no. But upon walking me to my table, I pointed out an outlet next to my table and the server said "actually we don't allow it, but today it's okay". It's a quant, cozy, place that serves up some delicious authentic Thai dishes. We opted to sit in their enclosed patio area in the front. It was nicely decorated with plants and antique looking things off to one corner. They made good use of this space because the indoor seating is much smaller. There was a communal seating area with high bar stools which was cool too. For food we ordered fried squid, bbq pork fried rice, wonton egg noodle soup, and roasted pork with basil, onions, and bell peppers also known as pad-kra-prow. All the dishes we tried were delicious and served with a smile. The servers were attentive and kept our water glasses full. My husband tried the Thai beer, I took a sip and I tasted a hint of chocolate. It was good! Street parking available. We actually came for Khao Soi right at opening and they ran out! We had to wait an hour to get it to go and just went shopping. We did get chapo bowl, Hainan chicken, and pad see ew instead. All tasted very good. Chapo bowl we switched to rice noodle instead of egg. It has nice crispy pork belly and char sui pork with Chinese sausage that had the right combo of sweet and savory. Hainan chicken had a good juicy rice. The chicken was a little dry surprisingly but the sauce really helped. The broth was a nice complement. The pad see ew was generously apportioned with beef. This is one of my favorite Thai places and my favorite place to get Thai boat noodle. I have not had a better Thai boat noodle than the one I've had here. Please try it! I highly recommend! It is savory, flavorful, beefy, tangy! Good amount of noodles, meat, and broth. There's a reasonable amount of parking along the street, and I've never had issues finding a spot. I think the one time I did, I was able to find parking very close on a nearby adjacent street. Even though I raved about their thai boat noodles, I did not get it on my last visit. Opted for pad see ew and spicy chicken. I had wanted to get a very spicy, spicy chicken but when I placed my order online the employee didn't ask and automatically set it to mild. Honestly, my fault for not being more assertive and asking, but I've typically always been asked. But again, this was my bad and I don't blame them for this. Both dishes were delicious! I actually preferred the spicy chicken to the pad see ew, thought it had a deeper complexity of flavors. Both had a great char flavor to them. Found the pad see ew tasty, but a bit lacking in the intensity of flavor. Would opt to try a different dish instead of the pad see ew next time around. Pickup was quick and easy. I've had the chicken and shrimp Khao Soi and recently tried the beef rib eye ramen Khao Soi, which came with ramen noodles instead of the regular noodles. Both really great! The service throughout our meal was excellent. I wasn't sure what to order at first, but when a friend suggested the Pad Thai--a classic Thai dish...I decided to give it a try. Mom and I were famished from a couple of errands we had to do in the general Long Beach area, and since she was craving Thai food, I did my usual Yelp search and found this was closest to where we were. Less than 2 miles away, we found street parking right up front (yay!) and walked in not too long after. It wasn't busy, so we were seated and given the menu immediately. Since we've never been here before, we took a bit long to decide what to eat. We put in our orders for Thai iced tea immediately, though. (Refreshing on a warm SoCal day!) We were ready by the time our drinks came through. Since I don't know when I'd be back here, I thought I'd put in the top three I wanted to try: Deep fried soft shell crab, crab fried rice and Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. (I figure I'd have enough leftovers for a couple of meals!) Mom went for a lunch special: Thai style basil chicken lunch special (aka Pad-Kra-Prow.) DEEP FRIED SOFT SHELL CRAB: Comes as a pair. Batter was thin and that's all it really needs. Simple prep is the best way to let the crab shine. And it was PERFECT. Didn't even need the dip. Crab was crispy on the outside, delicious on the inside. CHINESE BROCCOLI WITH CRISPY PORK: The Thai iced tea might have played a trick on my taste buds because it altered the taste of this dish. It was a different experience once I cleansed my palate, though, and it is DELICIOUS! The pork was crispy, a little under salted but the sauce more than made up for it. The broccoli was fresh and pairing it with the pork made for good bites! CRAB FRIED RICE: Made with real crabs. Not a lot of refills. The aroma was stimulating. The taste: PERFECT! Even the seasoning was right on. I couldn't stop eating this even after I was already uncomfortably full, so I had to push it out of reach! Mom thoroughly enjoyed her plate! FOOD: 4.75. Not quite perfect, but close! SERVICE: 2.5. A bit below average. There was very little interaction and weren't available a couple of times when we needed a few extras. (They just kinda disappeared once the food was served.) VALUE: 4. Plenty of leftovers for a 2nd and third meal. PARKING: Street only. Not an issue when we came through in a lunch rush. OVERALL: 3.75. Hubbers asked to bring home a few apps and entree of his choice (beef satay, bacon wrapped shrimp, crying tiger and drunken noodles.) He enjoyed every single one of those as well! (We ended up having enough leftovers for a couple of days!) We were seated at the area immediately to the right, so I didn't get to take a good look at the inside. For next time, maybe...? An eclectic take on Italian pasta and Thai food fusion It was very tasty and flavorful. The prices are a bit high but their portions sizes make up for it. Overall, service is great and the interior was clean. Food: To share we had a Tom yum soup, it was served in a eclectic Pyrex measuring cup lol I had the Thai salmon Panang curry. The fish was nicely browned then simmered in their fragrant curry. It had a nice rosè color. I was impressed to see that they didn't over-cooked the fish in the curry. It was excellent. I had to pack half of the big portion to-go. My friend had the Thai style pasta. It was just as tasty. However it was made too spicy for her-- she ordered it medium spicy. So we mixed a little bit of my curry into her plate to cool it off. The meat was very juicy ! The portion was also huge. Very fragrant. The ambience is nice. As you walk in you're greeted by a door bell and cool hipsters-ish decoration on the ceiling. It's interesting to see how the place has transformed; last ive been to the building was when I was a child and it was a different Thai place. It's 8:58pm and we are starving... I googled Thai restaurant in LBC, found STN bar... Pulled up on a random commercial street and walked in. Walked in and greeted with smiles. I'm a very big skeptic on 4.7 stars. But they deserve a 5/5 Thai iced tea- came in a mug, tea was brewed fresh and was a little sweet. 4.5/5 Papaya salad- great fish sauce, peanut, fresh cherry tomatoes, green beans and cabbage meshed well together.
