I love YGF! I normally go to the Irvine location but I actually like this location better, although they do not open as late as Irvine- i found the quality to be a bit better. In terms of the ingredients and flavor of the broth. We waited maybe 20 minutes for dinner, but I love how they assign a table to make it more organized. We used to loveee this place. My boyfriend and I came here several times a week for quite a while because it was our favorite malatang spot. Unfortunately, I think they changed the recipe recently. The prices have gone up, but the broths just aren't as rich or flavorful as they used to be. We first noticed it when the tomato broth wasn't as thick or flavorful as before. We came back two more times just to make sure it wasn't an off day, but each visit was more disappointing than the last. I'm honestly so sad because no other malatang place has ever compared to this one. After you picked your ingredients such as seafood, vegetables, meat, etc. They weigh your bowl and pick your soup base. I can only tolerate mild spicy so went with the extra mild beef bone soup. They have a sauce station for you to make your dipping sauce. I start of with Vinegar base, soy sauce, Sacha sauce, little sesame sauce and sesame oil and a whole lot of garlic, green onions and cilantro. Average bowl is around 1.5 lbs, $20. It was extremely oily and it had a weird taste and smell to the whole dish overall. We ordered the skewers as well and we weren't sure if it was pork or chicken but the outer layer looked cooked but the inside didn't taste like it and it was extremely chewy. My girl and I accidentally discovered this place when we were hungry at night wanting some soup. She explained nothing about the stamp cards and whispered everything and totally charged us without consent.
