It's been awhile since I've visited Sweetgreen. I wanted a salad for dinner so I decided to stop by. I came right before the dinner rush and there was no line. It took a few minutes for someone to come from the back and help me out. Decided on the BBQ chicken salad which came with romaine lettuce and kale topped with blackened chicken, cabbage, pickled onions, tomatoes, apples, and tortilla chips.chips. I asked for the honey BBQ sauce and green goddess ranch on the side, which I'm glad I did because I only ended up using the BBQ sauce. The salad was a good size and reasonably priced. I'd add double chicken next time, though, and probably jalapenos. read more

I stopped by Sweetgreen to try their new Autumn Harvest Bowl. I've had their Harvest Bowl before but was eager to try the Brussels sprouts in the Autumn Harvest version. Unfortunately, they were very busy and rushed through my order, even separating my husband and me because they didn't bother to wait for his order. I cannot have pepper, as it makes me very sick, so I planned to substitute for roasted chicken. However, the server rushed through the process and even skipped the couple ahead of me. I also have celiac, but again, I wasn't given the chance to inform her about my allergies. Thankfully, another server stepped in to correct my order and gave me a new bowl. Now to the bowl, the Autumn Harvest Bowl was good, but the Brussels sprouts were overcooked for my liking. So, I think I'll keep it simple and order the traditional Harvest Bowl in the future. I encourage this location to be more patient, treat each customer with respect, and give them enough time to order. No one is in a rush, and taking the time to prepare each order carefully will help ensure no one gets sick. I hope to return for a better experience next time. read more

Disappointed. I have eaten here many times, but this time the food was noticeably worse. Pickled onions were not really pickled, basically raw onions. I picked them all out. The spicy broccoli was REALLY bitter. Clearly they are not tasting their own food or it wouldn't have made it into a customer's order. The steak was good but not much of it. read more

I came here on a weekend lunchtime and could soon order my bowl without waiting. There were no people dining in yet. The staff is pretty efficient, and the store was also relatively clean. However, I'm leaving two stars as the quality, portion, and price of the bowls don't seem worth the money. Of course, I can get fresh veggies and choose toppings from various options, but some items were stale, dry, or not what you see on the website. For instance, one of our orders was a caramelized garlic steak bowl. The steak was cut into tiny pieces and came with a small portion. The spicy broccolis were soggy as if they were microwaved and seasoned. Also, the plastic fork broke apart while eating a salad; thus, the plastic pieces fell off on my salad. Wish they had reusable forks for dine-in customers, which is sustainable too. Besides, it's inconvenient to eat grains, peas, or leaves with weak forks, but it seems they only offer forks. While Sweetgreen is a healthy, quick-service option, I'd recommend looking around this area before coming here. read more

Guacamole Greens Tasty! I visited yesterday tried "Guacamole Greens" salad (Roasted chicken, Spinach, cabbage, spring greens, avocado, onion, tomato & lime.) Accompanying dressing jalapeño, cilantro vinaigrette. I substituted it w/green goddess vinaigrette. Tasty salad, fresh flavorful ingredients. The lime unfortunately gave it a sour taste. This was my first time at SweetGreen. At most casual dining places, there are limited options for the vegetarians. However, when ordering my custom salad bowl, I found a range of options to choose from. The prices are reasonable. The staff was polite, courteous and accommodating. They even helped me sign up for the SG Rewards Program. Two things, if added to their menu, would make this place even more inviting: an assortment of simple sandwiches and fresh fruits. For a complete meal, I wouldn't mind a smaller Salad Bowl to go with a small sandwich. I plan to return soon to explore other creative possibilities for my next custom salad bowl. We went in for a quick dinner last night, June 8th 2025. The woman who made my salad and checked us out was GREAT!!! Wish I'd gotten her name but she needs a raise and to be promoted. It had just rained, we wanted to eat outside, but the tables and seats were all wet. I asked for a rag to wipe them off (instead of using 50 paper napkins), she wiped them for us!!! I used to roll my eyes at sweet green, until I found out they went above and beyond to source ingredients locally. This explains the larger price tag for fast casual, and I am happy to pay for something that supports local agriculture. I will say, at this specific establishment, I did not encounter the most pleasant service employee. He seemed rather agitated- but in all truth- some of the frequent Bethesdans are the most entitled people I've ever encountered... so I am in full understanding of his mood, as I would likely have a similar temper in an atmosphere dealing with the most challenging individuals. I was on the hunt for something healthy for dinner after finishing a workout, and decided to give this place a whirl. I've heard a lot about sweet green, but have never tried it. There were tons of meters out front, as well as a parking garage around the street. I found a meter spot with no problems. I went with the harvest bowl (people on TikTok and all of social media have been praising this one so much I HAD to get it) and the crispy rice bowl. If you scan the QR code and download the app you get a $5 off coupon, which I was happy to use. One of the staff members was kind and helped me get the app set up so I could use the coupon (it wasn't clear to me how to bring it all up). I didn't get his name, but he was really nice. The portions are huge, easily two meals per bowl. I don't even like kale and have really enjoyed the harvest bowl! The crispy rice bowl was great too. Tonight I unfortunately became a member of the massive sweetgreen obsessed cult and know that my wallet will be hurting in the near future. read more

I ordered online and walked in 10 minutes later. No salad awaiting. Finally flagged down a server and none spoke decent English. The salad here fluctuates depending on who makes it. I've had pretty good experiences and the last time I ordered a Thai salad. The dressing was perfect, I asked for less than moderate and I think that was the perfect amount. For the price the amount was not too bad. this sweetgreen is too sad. i used to be proud to say sweetgreen was from the dmv but this is an embarrassment. and it's so hilarious they hire managers who aren't capable of just doing their job correctly. i saw employees pouring unwashed greens from the cheapest bags of greens from the local giant. they literally had the giant bags on the counter and just opened the bags and poured it right in. it's sad they charge almost $20.00 for a salad with these type of ingredients. i think it's even more sad that sweetgreen hr hires employees that work at a such low standards. i think from now on i'll spend my money at a different place. and to top all this off i found plastic in my salad and the "manager" just handed me a token for my next salad. too funny. do better sweetgreen. or just like your stock this place will crash down. i'm not mad but for a company with tons of money i'd invest in a better management to have more returning happy customers. read more

I used the sweetgreen app to order for pickup. I was somewhat disappointed at the quality of my order and they messed up my fiance's order. I ordered the Curry Cauliflower bowl, it was comparable to other locations except the quinoa was really wet and mushy :( My fiance ordered the Maketto Dinner bowl, he substituted the cilantro + basil + mint with corn and unfortunately this request was missed. At the premium price you are paying, $10 or more for a salad bowl essentially, I expected more.... especially since I have never had any issues at any of their other locations in the DMV. Aside from this unfortunate experience, the staff were polite and the inside of the restaurant is clean. There is either street parking or a garage located nearby. Updated: 01/27/2017 I came back here after management reached out to me to give this location another try. I changed my rating from a 3/5 to a 5/5. They were definitely on point with my order on this second visit. I ordered the Curry Chickpea Bowl and subbed out the raisins for corn, it was perfect and the bread was freshly made. So the wait time was very reasonable, about 10 mins. They give you an options of fee pre-made salad options. Which makes life much easier, and they seem delicious. I'm sorry to say this location is filthy and should probably be shut down by the health department. They are also super careless. I've ordered twice for delivery and they didn't include the dressing - total bummer to receive salad with no dressing. One time there was a chunk of something from another salad in my dish. I thought maybe the problem was ordering through delivery so I tried to go one time in person because it is so convenient to my house. This time the salad was super gross - the chicken was not properly cooked. I told the manager and actually showed her. The tables and chairs were also quite dirty. I have grown to love the salads at SweetGreen! You can choose one of the signature or seasonal salads or create your own. If you do not like a certain item in a signature, you can switch it out. I love the AvoCobbo with the kale, avocado, and bacon! They don't skimp out on the chicken either. I usually switch out the blue cheese dressing for the lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette dressing, and also add mushrooms. It can be pricey for a salad, but SweetGreen uses fresh seasonal ingredients. It's tasty, delicious, and healthy! I haven't been to many SweetGreens, but this location is always clean and the folks here are friendly. On week nights, it's hardly packed with people. Let me start by saying I never really go out of my way to visit salad places. For my birthday my friend ordered me a green goddess salad because she is a big sweetgreen fan and it's her favorite. Oh my gosh- I was BLOWN AWAY. I never realized how much flavor could be packed into a salad, especially as a vegetarian. They converted me into a sweet potato fan because those were some of the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. I mean come on! Who wouldn't love a salad place where you get to make your own salad by picking various ingredients and putting them into a bowl. My suggestion, buy their reusable salad blaster bowl if you are planning to go more than once, it costs $5 and has a separate compartment for your dressing so that when you are ready to mix the salad dressing with the salad you can without the salad getting all mushy! Great invention and great way to "be green". Reduce your use of their plastics, Reuse your salad blaster bowl! Also, another suggestion, if you are like me you usually have your toppings that you stick to - cucumber, peppers, mushrooms, kidney beans, etc. - I suggest you step out of your comfort zone at this place and have them make one of their suggested salads! I had something with spicy broccoli, spicy tofu, spinach, kale, bean sprouts, cucumbers, and sriracha and it was delicious!!! I was excited to try sweet greens since my daughter loves their chicken chickpea salad!! I was alone so I ordered the salad waiting to be wowed!! It was mediocre at best. In general I liked the food there. My salad was good which made me happy. The line seemed a bit long but they are pretty fast. The place itself was clean which is always a plus and the staff is relatively friendly. I do think I would like to try other salads on their menus as the combinations seem quite interesting. Not sure what else there is to say next time I'll stay to eat my salad to see how the service actually is. I do like the fact that they have seating outside but it's basically on the sidewalk which is a bit inconvenient. That being said there is a lot of place inside to sit. read more
