    Crispy Rice Bowl
    Brittany H.

We ordered the crispy rice bowl. The location was clean, staff was friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. We sat inside and you can see how busy it gets but the staff handled everything well. My salad was delicious always my favorite.

I usually get the same salad but I recently felt compelled to get the Ranchy Baddie bowl after seeing some cool ads featuring cast from Love Island. The service and ambiance was consistent. The bowl itself was soo tasty & super filling. They ran out of the blackened chicken, so I subbed with their roasted chicken instead. I love that they don't skimp out on the protein. I was happy i switched it up.

Such a healthy experience!! Love that they have a steak option for more iron, and I really enjoyed the crispy quinoa drizzled with the vinaigrette that I added on. The tomatoes were super fresh too! While the sweet potato's could've been a bit thicker to give it more moisture, I do understand why there's a whole cult sweetgreen following! We ordered online and got our food super fast.

I'm a fan of Sweetgreen, but this location always seems to mess up my order (and that's a shame, because it's by far the most convenient location for me.) I've at least learned to open the bag and thoroughly go through my pick-up order before leaving the restaurant. There's often something missing or the wrong item is included altogether. I once drove all the way home only to find an entirely different salad than what I'd ordered - it included meat, and I'm vegetarian.

We were invited to have lunch here with our new Chicago friends. Honestly, we probably would have never thought to eat here. But we were pleasantly surprised. All bowls/plates are customizable, so my kids were able to create their bowls to what they like. My son doubled up on the salmon while my daughter piled on the herbed chicken. She also really enjoyed the fresh focaccia bread. I tried the new Southwest Chicken Fajita bowl. The sauces perfectly complemented each order. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and really good. Super friendly and patient staff as people had a lot of questions while ordering. They never hesitated to accommodate all requests. My kids may not choose to come back, but I definitely will. :)

    Guacamole Green Salad

First time here still searching for excellent salads: Found it! I ordered the Guacamole Green Salad: Roasted chicken, avocado, tomatoes, pickled onions, shredded cabbage, tortilla chips, spring mix, chopped romaine, lime squeeze, lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette. That is better than any Southwestern Salad and authentic to boot!

My colleagues and I ordered lunch from here. Two ordered custom bowls, the other coworker and I ordered the Harvest Bowl, but she replaced the chicken for the mushrooms. Our orders came with bread, and we also requested another side of salad dressing at no extra charge. We all agree that our bowls were huge, healthy, filling, and we were satisfied with our choices. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

Ordered a salad for dinner. Standard sweet green. Tasted great. Service was good. Gave me plenty of toppings. No complaints. Would order again.

She overcharged me by about $20 although both meals were made the exact same.

Horrible experience! This was the first and last visit for me. Some rude lady who im assuming is named Brijet W (she was very sketchy and did some underhanded stuff so lying about her name isn't off the table) spat in my food while talking, charged me double for the same menu item that my gf got, and made me wait two minutes while staring off into the distance before putting cheese in my salad... i dont know what drugs she was on but that interaction was WEIRD and unwarranted. I hope she gets help! I can't eat this!

I ordered a custom bowl with double chicken and YUM. This portion was MASSIVE and super filling. I tried 3 different dressings - balsamic, spicy cashew, and pesto. My favorite was the spicy cashew dressing but it did make my nose run. The ingredients all complimented each other well and I felt super healthy but also stuffed. Will definitely be coming again.

I was in here earlier today. The associate that made my bowl was really sweet. However, the cashier charged me for extra chicken that I did not receive nor did I ask for after the associate who made my bowl confirmed the order out loud in front of me. Left a little upset because sweetgreen is already pricey as it is. So I feel like their associates need to be trained to price and serve correctly. Had I received the extra chicken regardless of wether I asked for it or not, it would have been fine because at least I got what I was charged for but I did not and it was almost a $5 dollar extra charge. I always tip due to working in the service industry as well but this completely discouraged me from ordering in store versus ordering online. That $5 dollar extra charge could have been a tip. I reached out online and all they asked for was a picture so they could re-train their team? Which I appreciate but that did nothing for me in that instance.

OTOH, he came to my rescue immediately when my cane fell over. The other server took our order and seemed much more engaged with the customers overall. The food. OMG. Gorgeous presentation, ample portions, amazing flavor blending. Flawless. Spouse had grilled broccoli appetizer and I sampled one. I need to try to make this. I had the crab cake appetizer; beautiful plate and so yummy I nearly inhaled it. I'm writing this as it happens, so my mood is better now that I'm not hangry. Entree: Salmon, asparagus, kale. I never liked kale until I had this crunchy grilled or maybe broiled curly leaf. He had a massive pork chop with a bell pepper and lemon sauce and about a quart of mashed potatoes. And promises he has room for dessert. I want an espresso and maybe cake, because I am 74 today. Chocolate cake. Even if I have to put it in my second stomach. Nice birthday lupper (lunch/supper).

I want to have the pasta, but this is meant to be shared amongst the table, not devoured by one person, but I digress. I walked in during what ended up being brunch, and while the regular menu was not technically available, the bar-server offered to ask the kitchen if I wanted something specific. That something was the Tuna Tartare, which the kitchen obliged (thank you very much). While a simple dish, it was executed supremely well. The olive oil was of such quality and robust flavor I asked the kitchen what brand they use, the avocado was at the peak of ripeness, and the house-made chips were oozing with homemade perfection. The fish was of high quality, and the ginger-orange gelatine added a subtle flavor and texture which was very unique, both as a flavor, but more so in execution! Now, to be fair, while this was not my favorite iteration of this dish, it doesn't take away from the quality and precision of execution. As my main, I ordered the Basil Pesto Brunch Gnocchi. The sauce was, true to form, very earthy, creamy, and basil-y without being overpowering. The gnocchi themselves were soft and pillowy, some of the best I'd had! The accoutrements of egg, sun-dried tomatoes, and mushrooms helped add new dimensions to the dish, adding those lightly meaty, acidic, and generally umami notes. The pork belly, meanwhile, was lost on me. Coming back to this review, I was frankly surprised they were included! Maybe this is me showing why I can't hack it as a professional, paid, restaurant critic, or maybe they were in fact, omitted. An area where Ascione Bistro shines is the service. The bar-server was friendly and attentive, and the food came out reasonably fast, especially since I could see into their kitchen, the pace of which reminds me of The Bear (don't worry, no yelling or profanity could be heard). Final verdict: Ascione appears to be a very busy spot, and for good reason. They have well executed, unique, and flavorful dishes, complemented by great service. If we pretend me not picking up on the pork belly is a 'me' issue, then the experience was flawless... except that I should have found more people to come with me, as the gnocchi loaded me with carbs, and I ended up taking half-ish home.

The decor alone had me sold before the food arrived. We went all in on appetizers: fried cheese curds, crab gratin, and beer battered squid. Combined, the portions were enough for five. For entrees, we tried the house burger, lamb shepherd's pie, steak and ale, and fish and chips. The food was perfectly fine, just not the kind that sticks with you. I wouldn't call it bad, but I also wouldn't call it back next week. The real star was the Fizz Sam's Buzz mocktail, which I happily upgraded with a shot of tequila. It was so good I ordered a second without hesitation. The automatic gratuity caught me off guard, mostly because our server seemed to have other tables to tend to more urgently than ours. I love leaving a generous tip when I feel the love, but this time it felt a little preemptively assumed, like a kiss on a first date! Would I return? Absolutely for drinks and appetizers in that cozy space. For a full dinner? Probably not, but that's just my palate. You might disagree, and honestly, I hope you do.
