I actually love this little place! I've gotten a few sandwiches from here and I've actually enjoyed them all so far! What I like the most is, you truly can customize the sandwiches by adding toppings/removing them and truly make your sandwich unique and it's really not a pain to do so. My favorite here is the tuna with onions, extra mayo and pickles. The bread also seems REALLY fresh with a fluffy inside and flaky outside. The only downfall of this place is the location because of how hard it is to get in and out of there but it's worth having to maneuver the car LOL! Such a cute little spot in Beverly! I gave 3 stars due to the coupon given for the .99 cent Mr Sub on 11-10-25 and the meat did have flavor. The young man at the front seemed new but thanked me for my patience. I ordered an Italian beef dipped hot with Swiss it wasn't bad but boyyy was it super tough, almost like it was sliced against the wrong grain of the roast. It also had nice spicy giardenera! My suggestion is while slicing make sure it's the correct way and don't allow the meat to sit in the gravy all day otherwise it's may be worth a second try! BEWARE!!!!! We were about to pull up to the drive-thru and order sandwiches when my daughter had a bathroom emergency - thank god she did! We ran into one of the bathrooms and while she was sitting, a COCKROACH FELL from the ceiling onto her back. Literally this is what nightmares are made of, we're so upset!! There was also roach "dust" in the corner by the door frame. I had absolutely no further time to stick around and bother arguing with the staff, they know they have roaches!!!! The last time I was there was 5+ years ago & never went back because the tuna sandwich was so bad I had to throw it out & I never waste food if I can possibly help it. I don't know what their other sandwiches are like but since I live in the neighborhood I'll get around to trying it again. Hoping that they have improved upon their tuna sandwich as I eat fish every Friday but when I don't make my own, it's convenient to sometimes get take out so since it's Friday, October 17, 2025 I was thinking of a tuna sandwich today. Wow! So I have frequented this place since I was growing up in the 90s. Food has always been consistent, some of the customer service has been hit and miss over the decades. But I was truly caught off guard, by something small, yet deceptive and surprising. My kid always wants the 5pc nugget. As shown if you try to order online, it says comes with sauce. I also have an old paper menu with outdated prices, but again it states that it comes with sauce. My husband gets to the window tonight, they ask him which sauce as usual. Then he gets home and we see the receipt. We got charged 65¢ for sauce for a 5pc nugget! I ordered from the catering menu 12 king-size subs for a party when I go to pick them up they handed me bags I'm like WTF why aren't they on trays they then looked slow and went to charge me 5 dollars per tray so 135 dollars sandwiches were not good at all and the service sucked! Word to the wise, be prepared for mediocre service and errors in your order- this is all part of the Mr. Sub experience. The worker named Paco.... He's extremely rude and arrogant. He refused to correct my order. I was informed previously that I would have no problems returning to the restaurant at a later date for them to make it right and correct my tray order after they messed up my sandwiches for my daughter's birthday on 4/23. The order was placed ahead of time and they had messed it up. I finally returned on 5/15 to pick up the 2 sandwiches that was promised to me to come get at anytime, just to be met by Paco's discurtious disposition. He was extremely rude and dismissive. He claimed to have looked through the paperwork and said he could not find my name. He refused to take my order number to verify in that way. He asked me to step into the store from the drive through and I informed him that I couldn't at the moment and had a little one in the car with me. We weren't decent enough to be out the car, as this was supposed to be a quick run. Nevertheless, I've patronize the place for years and this one encounter has caused me to take my future business with sandwiches elsewhere. This place is the worst Mr sub. Go to the one that's on Pulaski south of 115th street. They'll give you a Ling sized sub (which is bigger than this places Super sized sub) and you get a fry for free. I will say that I grew up on Mr. Submarine. Before "Subway", there were just submarine shops, independently owned and operated and there was Mr. Submarine. I was so happy to find this shop in Beverly. I will say the drive thru is really weird, because it's really short. Just park and go inside. I haven't had Mr. Submarine in about 6 or 7 years, but was really craving it that particular day. I ordered the veggie, which consists of lettuce, tomato, cheese and italian dressing. I also got mayo, because I'm a glutton. You can also get a meal, which consists of fries (omg) and a drink. I thought to go hard and got the fries and got a pop to go. Now I can say that I don't always eat like this, but the sandwich was great, although, because I don't always eat like this, my stomach was kind of upset. The fries were ON POINT!!! Ok, sometimes you need a shake and Janson's Drive-In is closed so you gotta settle for Mr. Sub. The vanilla is fine, but I really wanted Janson's strawberry banana shake, which is incredible. My "Mr. Sub" addiction rolls on. And this location in Beverly seems to be the location we hit up most. Unlike some locations, the french fries here are crinkle cut. Always salted to perfection. Our order always comes out correct despite that helpless feeling of "you know they're going to screw something up." My only gripe is the parking lot is super small due to the fact that it's located in the tiniest strip mall ever. You must be cautious when exiting the drive-thru onto Western because parked cars generally prevent you from seeing traffic heading towards you. I went to this restaurant on Saturday February 20th around 5:30. I purchased a regular turkey sub, extra oil hot and a order of small fries. The only thing i had eaten that day was coffee that morning. By 10:30-11:00pm that same night i was up vomiting uncontrollably and excessive bowel movements. This continued until about 3:30am. Went to sleep for about 2 1/2 hrs, woke up at 6:04 started all over again. Finally got myself together to go the the ER. I arrived at 7:04am by 7:20 i had an IV in my arm because i was severely dehydrated. After blood test i was diagnosed with food poisoning. Im letting the world know how horrible and unsanitary this place is. Dan thank you for your response in surmising i.e. "guessing" that my illness was caused by Norovirus, which in my opinion is your way of deflecting responsibility, that was not listed as the determining cause. read more

The food was great ordered a King Sub and small fry, I watched them make my sandwich to make sure nothing was incorrect, my sandwich was delicious, the fries were nice, fresh and hot, I went in the middle of the day, so I was in and out. The parking lot is so small so you may want to park on western or 105th. I will return to this location soon. read more

I have been coming here for too many years to count. I remember their old building (that once housed a Jack in the Box in the 70's-80's). I used them for dinners, catering through the PTA I was involved in, family parties or just to satisfy. It used to be a great place to get a decent sandwich. The last year or so I have had so many things go wrong with my orders (which are not complicated). To highlight the last few times, I was there on December 22, 2019 - ordered one combo, everything but cheese and two corned beef with cheese only. We get home, we have 2 corned beef with everything and once corned beef with just cheese and mustard. Not one sandwich was right. I went back. They fixed it, but it was 9 at night, I was not happy I had to go back. The last time I ordered two sandwiches - one with no cheese - had cheese! Easy fix. I also ordered fries, got cream of broccoli soup. Both times the receipts listed what I said, but I did not get it. Other times in the last year I was in there watching them make the sandwiches and had to stop them from putting everything on the corned beef and cheese only. They also never answer the phone. I am just done, will drive a bit farther and pay a bit more from now on ALWAYS for Fontano's on 95th. You lost a really long time customer. Just not worth it if your employees do not understand how to read the receipt and follow very simple instructions. read more

Yes! Finally, my old sandwich is back! Hi there, looking for a good sub? Maybe great sub? Well, try this place. I love the Roast Beef/Corn-beef sub, It is fantastic, but I don't like a lot of oil, mayo, or mustard. Just one line of mustard and one line of mayo. Whoever made my sandwich on Monday, they deserve an Employee of the Month Award. My sandwich was fresh, organized, (seriously) and tasted like A little bit of Heaven.
