    Chicken Avocado Ranch
    Titan Z.

Greetings my Foodzies, our most recent culinary experience came from Sweetgreens at 1143 Lake st in Oak Park. This was a healthy lunch experience. When we arrived we told the staff that it was our first time there ; which is usually an opportunity for them to give an explanation. Unfortunately, we were told we can either choose from the menu or pick our own items. I believe a little better explanation should've been given. The seating was pretty basic with wooden benches and chairs with white top tables, it had an open concept where you can see the food prep even though the restaurant is designed with each item in individual trays for your choices. You can either choose one of their meals or create your own. We chose to pick one of their meals.Glenda chose the chicken avocado salad which was a mixture of various vegetables and chopped apples, rice and tortilla chips and of course avocado. The avocado had black spots on it which basically means that it had been there a while and obviously not treated with lemon to avoid the black spots. The salad was tasty and fresh. I opted for the bbq chicken salad which was also a merriment of flavors between the different vegetables and chopped apples. The bbq chicken wasn't bbq chicken it was chicken with bbq sauce, it also came with a greengodess ranch which gave it an earthy flavor to offset the sweetness of the bbq sauce. Our beverages of choice were the Lemonade with maple syrup; very weak in flavor and no maple syrup was detected . Then we had yge organic hibiscus berry tea; it was tart and flavorless. We enjoyed this restaurant the food was fresh and flavorful, our only disappointment was the avocado, the beverages and lack of instruction . I give this restaurant 3 1/2 stars. Please let me know what you think, and remember to please follow me on TikTok (Smoking Papa) your support is greatly appreciated. Ciao, Ciao for now.

Shroomami with avocado in place of the wild rice.

DELIVERY ONLY REVIEW: So I have been working on eating more salads and cutting down on the meat lately. This was just the place to provide the options I needed. I decided to try some of their teas as well. For my choice of salad, I chose the Shroomami. I decided not to have the wild rice since carbs already stick to me pretty easily. It was very flavorful. The tofu was prepared really well. I added avocado in place of the rice and it was a great replacement. The sesame dressing was awesome too but I really wish we added more sauce. The tea is good as well but they do not have sugar so... you can add your healthy sugar or you can adjust your palate lol.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes Hot Honey Mustard

FYI: The two times I've been to Sweetgreen, I've ordered pickup through the app. Both times i've ordered, my food is ready within 10-15 minutes, always before the estimated order pickup time. I may be a little biased because I've only tried two items on the menu: Hot honey chicken plate & Roasted sweet potatoes. To be honest, I could eat these every day of the week. The Hot honey chicken comes with blackened chicken, kale slaw, warm quinoa, roasted sweet potatoes (Japanese sweet potatoes which have now changed my life), almonds which I omit, and the very BEST part: hot honey mustard dressing. This meal gets a 10/10 from me. I order an additional side order of the Roasted sweet potatoes because they are that good, but I would say portion size is great. If i'm super hungry, I'll usually eat it in one sitting, but it's also easy enough to split into two meals. Overall, 4 stars because I haven't tried anything else yet and haven't tried dining it or dealt with customer service. I'll update as I try new things but I will be a faithful fan of the hot honey plate!

Make your own. I added cheese and dressing from home.

Food was fresh however customer service was not it. I'm not sure about every employee but the woman with the short black haircut was rude.

We visited to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night with a reservation and were seated by the window to our delight. The ambiance in the restaurant is so cozy and rustic, a wonderful vibe. We were first brought Garlic Pesto Bread that was still warm and delicious. Later we ordered drinks and appetizers. Both the Honey Whipped Goat Cheese and Beet Salad were phenomenal and so unique. For entrees we ordered the Beef Tartare, Caesar Salad with Blackened Salmon (an added request), Italian Sausage Orecchiette, and Braised Beef Short Ribs. Absolutely nothing disappointed and everything our waitress Lauren recommended was spot on. She is a rockstar! For dessert we ordered two chocolate mousses, and Crème Brûlée to share. The perfect way to end our night. This is a great upscale date spot or place to celebrate as it is on the pricier side, but we could not have been happier with our food, service, and overall experience.

The server didn't know the menu as we would have expected and attempted to remove plates when we were clearly still eating. Not the best services Food was ok but for shrimp risotto that wasn't awesome, a shared house salad and 2 glasses of wine for $80 before tip? There are so many other amazing restaurants for same price or even less. I won't be rushing to return.

Carnivore in Oak Park…read more This is a butcher shop and fish market that also sells sandwiches I can't really decide if the old time decor is by design or if the place is really needing an upgrade. I actually think it's the latter. It's a lot smaller than I imagined with very limited seating. We went here for the grilled salmon sandwich. We had seen many online reviews saying it is amazing. They make the sandwiches right in front of you, so you know that they are fresh. We took our sandwiches to go and by the time we got them home , they were cold. The fries traveled well, but again they were also cold bu the time we got home. The grilled salmon sandwiches were very good, but not great , and I really would have loved to have eaten it warm. Prices are on the high side for the butcher meats. But I guess you should expect that since they are an artisanal butcher. I did not like the look of some of the meats in the cases. Would we go back? Maybe to try the Bacon Burger. But we would definitely recommend eating your food in the butcher shop and not taking it to go. I have just found out that that are moving into Carnival Grocery in Oak Park.

As soon as I walked in, I saw so many goodies I knew I was taking home. Everyone behind the counter was so friendly and knowledgeable. I had to try one of their sandwiches and got the salmon po boy at their recommendation. It was really well seasoned and super fresh with a very generous slice of fish on it. Definitely coming back for another one next time I'm in the area! The food was just as high quality as it is when ordering individual meals, which is not always the case with catering. Everything was prepared perfectly, packaged well, and ready on time, making hosting completely stress free. Guests loved the food and several people asked where it was from. The service and communication were excellent, and it reinforced why we keep coming back. Tre Sorelle truly delivers whether it is dine in, takeout, or catering.

Walked in to an empty restaurant and asked to sit at the bar. Front of house staff was confused but obliged. Bartender is very overwhelmed making drinks for a table on the patio. I'm in absolutely no hurry, so I wait. Eventually another bartender came over, asked for my order and I asked to see a drink menu. He comes back, I ask him about happy hour specials and he wanders away saying "appetizers...." I pulled up the website and saw that the happy hour is actually really good!!! Half off apps and $8 wine. I order Pinot Grigio, baked goat cheese, and calamari. Here's how it went: -Wine was 100% a Chardonnay. I tried to drink it but I really, really couldn't. -Baked goat cheese. Sauce and cheese had flavor, pesto on the bread did not. Not a huge problem but I did notice. -Fried calamari. SIGH. As rubbery as one can get and kind of tasted like the fryer oil needed to be changed. I packaged it up to go (I think I felt too embarrassed to leave a full plate), but threw it away before I got to the car. All in all, I think it could have been good. Maybe I came on the wrong day? Staffing was weird? A little 'off' from what I would expect from a place with white tablecloths in the dining room.
