I am so happy to see Sweetgreen open a location in this area after hearing good things about it. Sweetgreen has a great variety of salads and bowls with premium toppings and options. The workers in-store have been extremely friendly and helpful for people who have questions, and had a great attitude even when there was a very long line. They are still working through the kinks and were out of a couple basic ingredients, but I look forward to coming back. It is great to have a place with healthy options available. Started off really liking this place as the food is great and healthy. The issue is the help. Many times they will ignore those in line to handle the online orders, as physical customers are waiting this makes no sense. Ordering takes time as each employee follows the customer all the way to paying for the food, while other customers wait. They should send the bowls down the line with employees handling a station, and a cashier checks you out and handles, bread and drinks. Portions also vary if you are in the store or order on line. For the price, bowls should be full whether you are in the store or not. One time, they completely left two ingredients off of my bowl while I was in the store as the employee started my bowl then walked away. Management needs to retrain the staff so that they understand who pays their wages. Last bowl I ordered might have had 3 pieces of broccoli in it. Reviews like this will continue until you make sure employees understand the customer experience is the most important part of your business as well as quality good reasonably priced food with portions that reflect the photos in your store. read more

Only giving 2 stars because my salad was good but their service is horrible! First of all, we had to wait over 30 minutes in line for our salads when there were only 5 people in front of us. The manager or leader was so rude and needs to get off her high horse! Don't ever mistreat your employees in front of customers ! Not only did she intimidate him but he could not focus on our order. We felt so bad for him that we didn't even want to say anything and just paid for our meal. We will only return if the line is not so long read more

We have been waiting for a sweetgreen to open in Orange County for years and it's finally here! We came at 8:15pm and turns out their hours had changed for the day and they closed at 8. We were so disappointed but they still offered to make us salads! A lot of the items were out but we were very grateful that they made an exception for us. Big thank you to Drake! I've been a huge fan of Sweetgreen since I lived in NY years ago, and was thrilled to have the openings in Tustin and Irvine recently! With that being said, this location is definitely my favorite, especially given the MVP who works there - Evan. My best friend and I stopped by before a flight, and he welcomed us in with such a friendly attitude, went out of the way to get us ingredients/cut things for us, and gave me suggestions on some fun new sauces I could mix together for my custom bowl (loved the mix of Greek Goddess and the Lime Vinaigrette)! I try to not judge a place on a first experience so I gave this place a couple more chances since it's close by and I'm always looking for healthy options but I have been here three times now and the food has been extremely mediocre. The salads are not filling and feel like it's something I can easily make at home and better. With mendicino farms being so close by it's a no brainer to just go there. Also, I'm not quite sure why but I never felt comfortable any of the times while eating here either. The service was also subpar. I do not plan on coming back. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Ordered two harvest bowls with my girlfriend only to wait 30 extra minutes in the store after we had purposely placed our orders ahead of time. Not only was the wait forever, but the worker Crystal couldn't be bothered to stop talking to every single other Sweetgreen staff member and move at a -5mph pace. To top things off, she proceeded to go on her phone while making our bowls and then use the same gloves to touch the ingredients that went in our salads. I was standing by the counter and just wanted a lid for my salad container, she walked by 4 times and not once asked mw what she can help me with or even acknowledged that I was there. I don't think I'll come back. They need to find someone else to run the shift, someone that is more customer centric and not a warm body. The food is good but the wait time has been terrible each time I've come to this location. They always only have one person working the line at any given time for in-person customers while 3-4 other employees mess around. Just wish they'd teach their staff about efficiency. No one even said hi or anything or "welcome in" and as i was walking out the store they said "we are closed for the night". Not even a bye or anything. Three of us adults and our one year old came here for the first time around 1:30pm on a Thursday. We were helped immediately at the counter where we stood to order the food, which was fresh and delicious. Daughter are every morsel of the Crispy rice bowl; husband finished every bit of his Chicken Avocado Ranch bowl; baby liked the chicken and sweet potato from his kid's meal; and I chose the ingredients for my salad of fresh spring greens and romaine topped with warm sautéed mushrooms, warm corn with peppers, garbanzo beans, fresh carrots and raw onions - there were so many fresh choices! Anyone can find something delicious and fresh to eat here: hot plates with chicken or fish; bowls or salads with grains and greens and protein choices. The food was packaged to take away or eat in, and we ate inside, as it was very clean and roomy. We are looking forward to trying the new Huntington Beach store soon. read more

I'll be honest I had high hopes for this place. My wife and daughter are vegetarians and everything on their menu said this would be a great option for a dinner. Sadly the food in general was either bland or dry. The salmon I chose was over cooked and made worse by white rice that was both bland and stale. My wife ordered the tofu option and it was both fried beyond recognition and tasted like fried cardboard. Even smothering both proteins in the sauces they had made it barely palatable. The options that can be added to the bowl appear to be entirely flavorless and the portobello mushroom medley appeared to be the same mushroom blackened or perhaps old. I even tried the Hibiscus Berry and Clover Tea and wish now I never had as the drink tasted like watered down cough syrup and that is being very generous. Until they change up their offerings to something that can be considered enjoyable my family will not be coming back. read more
