I go to Mendocino Farms at least twice a week, so I already know and love Mendo, but this Tustin location inside Whole Foods really stood out. First, the location is so convenient. It is inside the Whole Foods in Tustin, which makes it such an easy stop whether you are grabbing lunch, picking up groceries, or eating with your kids. The space has that easy Mendo feel, but the service here made it feel extra special. Huge shoutout to Diana and Ricky C. They were outstanding. I came in with my daughter and they let me know that kids eat free on Thursdays at this location, which I had no idea about. They were also so kind about helping me customize the kids meal. Nothing felt annoying or rushed. They were warm, patient, and genuinely helpful. And of course, the food was high-quality. Their Modern Caesar deserves a shoutout because it is such a good Mendo order: fresh, crunchy, flavorful, and not boring like a basic Caesar. The greens, parmesan, Caesar dressing, and that signature crunch make it feel lighter and more interesting while still being satisfying. I already love Mendocino Farms, but this location made me love it even more. This location is within the Whole Foods market at the Tustin district, and let's be honest, not the easiest spot to get in and out of depending of when your visit. Regardless it's the closest location without going to university town center so you just gotta time it right! I love the quality of food & healthy options at Mendocino Farms locations across my local area, and this location inside the Whole Foods at The District at Tustin Legacy on Park Avenue is super convenient to grab a nice bite before shopping for groceries at the Whole Foods. I love the $12 half sandwich & half side combo, it's an awesome value, and my favorite half sandwich so far is the Turkey Avo Salsa Verde, it has some nice mildly spicy elements together with creaminess and a nice lean protein like turkey in a great bread. Was a big surprise to find out that this Mendocino Farms is inside a massive Whole Foods. Here's what you need to know when and if you come... The food tastes average but there are several other issues. First, they make it basically impossible to dine in. Everything is served strictly to-go, in a paper bag. No trays, no plates, nothing. You end up sitting at a table in the middle of Whole Foods trying to eat your sandwich like some confused animal. But they sure do ask for tips. Second, this was the stingiest Mendocino Farms sandwich I've ever had. I've been to almost every location in Orange County, and they're usually consistent. But this one barely put any ingredients inside. On top of it I even paid extra for cheese and avocado, which they practically hid under a microscope. Ok flavor, terrible execution. If you want a real Mendocino Farms experience, go to the University Town Center location instead. I've had good experiences there so far. I won't be back to this one. read more

Mendocino Farms is one of my go to spots, so of course I got catering from them for my birthday! I got the Medium Sandwich Tray (22 half sandwiches) for $200 -- you're able to pick which sandwiches you want to include, which was nice cause other places have a pre-set one. My favorite sandwiches were the Chimichurri Steak & Bacon and the Chicken Pesto Caprese. I ordered online a few days in advance and I had no issues picking it up. It was ready on time and they also offer a serving set up. If you do go to Mendo here, it's in the Whole Foods grocery store on the right. Wanted something quick and healthy for dinner, and Mendocino farms delivered! I got the Golden State Cobb and opted for the Baja goddess dressing instead of the vinaigrette that it came with. The salad itself was fresh and loaded with toppings full of protein and healthy fats like goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, boiled eggs, bacon, pickled onions and some herbs. The balsamic glaze also added a nice touch. I also got a side of basil pesto shells, which were very tasty, but the small size was the size of a Costco sample cup, so I wouldn't opt for this item again. I've been to this location numerous times and have had the Farm Club, Chicken Pesto Caprese - both 9/10. The Chicken Parm Dip is 10/10 with their slightly spicy sauce. The Prosciutto Chicken is also stellar with the honey drenched almonds I do have to give manager Sheraton a major 10/10 for helping me resolve an issue where I accidentally gave a very high tip to an online order. I wasn't asked about bread, so I assumed it came as-is. The receipt on my bag listed "Mom's Seeded Honey Whole Wheat," which sounds fine. My order came out in under 10 minutes -- perfect timing since I also grabbed some chips and a poppy drink from self-checkout. My server, Armando, greeted me and let me know he'd be right with me, which was nice. The ingredients were fresh, but the sandwich itself was extremely dry, and the bread was hard as a rock. I was traveling for work and hadn't eaten all day, so I didn't have time to go back and ask for a fix. I did finish it, but honestly, it was tough to get down.
