Definitely more affordable than California fish grill and loved the sauce that came with it. The chicken gyro had a nice taste and the pita was warm and soft. Hubby and I were craving Mediterranean food and saw this place near our apartment, and so glad we decided to give it a try. The staff is very friendly and attentive- the inside of the restaurant is very clean. We ordered the chicken salad, hummus and pita and the lamb gyro pita wrap. All ingredients tasted very fresh and the food was amazing. Their garlic sauce topped everything off very nicely. Very happy we found this place, and we'll definitely be coming back for more. Been coming here for years since they opened but finally got around to writing a review! They have been consistently good since the first time I visited. Stopped by today for some lunch and they didn't disappoint. I only recently saw they have some soup options so I wanted to try one. I got the cajun fish soup and it was so good. A delicious cajun seasoned vegetable broth with a bunch of veggies and some chunks of white fish. You gotta love their salsa bar with so many options! I love their habanero pickled onions. I put them on top of my mahi mahi plate with cauliflower rice, not that it needed them. The sauce they put on top and included with the fish plate was addicting. Forget California Fish Grill! This place is far superior with excellent quality fish, cooked perfectly, paired with a light but seasoned basmati rice and grilled vegetables. This is an amazing operation. The quality of the food is excellent. My wife had the ground beef kebab and was amazed to discover they make the kabobs the hard way with fresh onion. In Orange County even the best Persian restaurants rarely take the time to do this, so we were pleasantly amazed. This is perhaps one of two places in Orange County where we found they actually are taking the time and effort to do this. Another person in our party had the fish and chips and he said it was absolutely amazing also. I had the poke bowl and it was great. The staff were friendly and very helpful. However, if you happen to visit during lobster season, be sure to order at least one lobster taco. They are the very best lobster tacos! We each placed our order and given our individual number tents. Next, I put together a couple of salsa cups from the self service salsa station. Be sure to pick up your utensils and napkin. The dining area has a few booths and tables. Be quick as this place gets full quickly around prime lunch time. it's a casual environment with a hodgepodge of simple decorations. I ordered the fish of the day in a taco format. I wasn't a big fan of the tacos. They seemed underwhelming and the pieces of fish was very sparse. Good thing I got the plate that came with rice and beans which was decent. My coworker who got the chicken salad, enjoyed it and said she would order it again. Fish and chips were not that special. We were in the neighborhood and we wanted to have fish for lunch and a local store owner recommended FOB. We decided to give a try and it was delicious. We ordered various items, but the items that stood out for us were the shrimp ceviche tostada, the lentil soup, and the FOB Barramundi Entrée w/ Krazy sauce. I'm so glad this place has found its audience. They really do a great job focused mostly on fresh reasonably priced seafood. Besides that they have Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine. The fish and chips are great but I am mostly likely to get the gyro wrap. It's the best in the area. My wife loves their falafel. It's hard to go wrong with anything you order. It's an order at the counter and they deliver to your table kind of place. There's a big rack with just about anything you would need from cutlery to condiments. We came in during dinner time. It was a full house but there was still some seating, as customers were coming and going. The arrangement for eating inside is you order at the register and pay. Then you find your table and seat, with the number order they give to you. If you're ordering To-Go, then you give them a name and once your order is ready for pick up, which is near the register, they'll call out your name. We stayed and ate indoors. Before this first in person visit, I've only ever ordered through a food delivery service. The food is delicious. I have tried their chicken charbroiled entree which comes with basmati rice, grilled vegetables and garlic dip. When eating in-person at this establishment, I tried something completely different and had not tried ever. I ordered their pita wrap with filet mignon with a side of seasoned fries. The meat is cooked medium well, unless you suggest it otherwise; and the veggies were tender but delicious! It came with a side of tzatziki sauce dip and I was dipping my fries there as suggested by one of the employees. The fries were cooked tender but delicious in every bite. I shared some with the people I came with. Utensils, to-go boxes, forks knives and salsas are at this small bar, near their import and export to the kitchen. It was organized. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of their menu, as it was busy, but I do have a photo of the food I had eaten. Super delicious. I will be back to try more of their items. I ordered the Lobster Roll plate, calamari appetizer and fountain drink. My friend got the chicken kabob plate since he had salmon last night and didn't feel like fish. The calamari appetizer was ok but I did like the lobster roll. The lobster was delicious, fries were perfectly seasoned and slaw was palpable. However, my friend thought his chicken was dry but finished his plate. I told him you should have gotten the mahi mahi. I like the atmosphere , the employees were friendly and helpful and everyone seem to be enjoying their meal there. I would definitely return. I'm not sure if we had a bad batch since the other reviews are all glowing but ordered the fish & chips (amongst other things) to go and the fish was undercooked (looked almost translucent) + the breading on the fish was so over seasoned and spicy, literally orange - so odd for fish & chips and not in the description. We ordered fish and chips, ground sirloin kabob and a kids burger. Fish and chips were fried perfectly with tender fish and crispy fries. The tartar sauce was great and the coleslaw was fresh. The ground sirloin kabob is well seasoned with rice and salad, get the garlic sauce but the tzatziki was nice as well.
