I have never been eager to eat a doughnut because I haven't tasted one and just had it melt in my mouth until I went by Sweethearts. I was literally saying 'ohh mmm yumm' the entire time I was eating!! It very much surprised me! I was expecting mediocre at best. I LOVE the drive-thru! It is convenient and I will use it every time! The staff is so super friendly and hospitable. I drive by this place everyday and since I tried one-I think, 'oh I should get a doughnut!' Super friendly staff and even invited me back the next day because they had already sold out on over half their product before 9 am on a Tuesday. I've tried many a donut in my life, but none, and I mean NONE comes even close to the amazing-ness that is a Sweetheart donut! Krispy Kreme, not even in the same galaxy as Seeetheart donuts. They have different special donuts of the day or sometimes if we're lucky, they will have the same special donut for several days. Peanut butter whipped cream filled chocolate donut. Yep, the whipped cream is peanut butter flavor AND they put a Reese's peanut butter cup on top. I have never been a fan of fritters or bear claw's. Sweetheart's fritters are seriously orgasmic! The recently introduced the blueberry fritter. From the first bite, I was hooked!!!! Their fritters have this amazing crunchy texture on the outside, and this amazingly soft and flavorful inside. I'm going to recommend you eat there a minimum of 6 times so you can sample all of the greatness. These are a must: Bigfoot Pretzel donut Cinnamon lobster tail Original glazed AND THEIR FRITTERS! They have ample parking lot parking, friendly employees and great donuts. My personal favorite is the peanut butter and chocolate donut. Is a 6 star rating possible or no??? Not going to lie. My mom and I were devout Go Donut fans, but I felt that they overcharged. So a few days ago I drove over and they were SOLD OUT! So then we decided to try out Delish Donuts. They were sold out too. This was a special work celebration, so it was kind of important. Discouraged, I decided to try out Sweetheart. WOW! Where have you guys been all my life?! The guy was super friendly and gave me a punch card! It's a 12 punch card system which I thought was awesome! Buy a dozen, and you get your 13th free. I was kind of sad when I got there because he was low on donuts, and I didn't know if they'd be good or not. So it was kind of a Russian donut roulette. I couldn't have been more wrong. Ok, apparently the first visit was in fact a bad day. LOL I do, however, still think the prices are a bit much. BUT, the Customer Service/Staff is wonderful and the shop was, again, spotless. This time I was there when the doors opened... saw them busy in their kitchens when I drove by around 4am. I got a lemon filled and a yeast-raised bacon maple bar. The donut itself was better this time around, light and tender as it should be. The lemon filling was very nice, not too sweet. The maple glaze is also not too sweet. The bacon was awesome and there was a lot of it. I still think the maple bacon bar would be a much better round donut. :) read more

These donuts are dangerous in a very good way!!! I don't find myself wanting donuts very often but every few months I tend to wake up craving them. I'm not exaggerating when I say these donuts may well be the best that I have ever eaten. They are amazing!! Best part is, somehow I don't feel like crap after I eat them here. Usually if I eat donuts, I just feel lethargic, sluggish , full and generally just gross wishing I had not eaten them. For some reason, these donuts do not make me feel like that. Sweetheart Donuts, from my understanding, were taught by the Sugar Shack bakery in Reedsport. Having grown up eating the Sugar Shack I was super excited to find this place. Higher quality donuts than I've had anywhere. Do yourself a favor and get the bigfoot donut. Whenever I visit Oregon, if I go without my husband, he has me bring him back the bigfoot donut (literally I drive it across several states to bring it to him, it's that good).
