This little shop is located in a small plaza, sort of hidden behind a gas station/car wash. There are a few places to sit inside. The woman working here was extremely nice and welcoming. She mentioned that the display case of desserts was exactly that - a display of their offerings and that the actual desserts would be brought from the back kitchen. I decided to get a cookie butter latte (which comes iced) and both a sea salt chocolate chip cookie and a strawberry mousse. I sat at a table and dived in. The latte was decent, although both the espresso and the cookie butter flavors were a bit weak. The cookie was fantastic, a big, fat mound full of chips. The mousse was presented in a cute strawberry shape, the coating covering a delicious frothy cream and a strawberry filling. Continuing my quest to find the yummiest macarons in OC brought me to Sweetheart's Dessert Lounge. From their Yelp photo gallery I was excited to see that they offer quite a few flavors. But first, let's chat about how welcoming the owner is. She was very sweet and happy to share info about her business: she is one of three family members that own and run the shop; her sister does most of the baking; she's created a space that encourages people to stay and relax by having some books and games available that they can borrow while they enjoy their treats. I love that!!! So I came to the Lounge specifically for the macarons (which is one of the few things they source from an outside vendor). There are so many flavors to choose from that I ended up with a 6 pack ~ pistachio, rose, earl grey, taro, almond, and raspberry. The cookies were perfectly crunchy on the outside yet nice and tender in the middle. I was surprised to find some of them had more of a paste filling instead of the traditional creme filling. The pistachio, rose, and raspberry macarons were the only ones in which the flavors were actually distinguishable. Otherwise there was nothing much thst made any of them really stand out. The very pleasant surprise for me was their peaches & cream crumble. It was SO good! Not overly sweet, with juicy peaches, a delicate cream, and a crumble that was buttery and spiced to perfection. This is easily shareable with 2-3 people, but I unashamedly finished the whole thing by myself. Now before you go thinking that I had ALL the treats in one sitting, I did not lol. I did pace myself and broke it down to 3 tastings. Anyway, ending it on a very happy note, I'm already of dreaming of having another peaches and cream crumble that I may or may not share with a friend. And next time I'm there, I also have my eye on their Dubai chocolate strawberries and they're NYC cookies. More than one return visit is definitely in order!! read more

So let's start with this location it's tiny all they have on display is what you can see in the picture that I took. TLDR: really poorly made desserts Purely personal opinion!! Worst cookies I've ever had. Super dry, neither chewy nor crunchy. You know a chocolate chip cookie will be bad if it's white. Dubai version had such a meager amount of dry filling. Mango patisserie is pretty but not delicate at all. The thick white chocolate shell overpowers everything else and the elements are overly sweet and crude in texture. The creme brulee custard is wayyyy too sweet and thick. The dubai chocolate strawberry is good but way too heavy on the chocolate and not enough of the kadayif. The banana pudding is pretty good. read more

The red chocolate on the outside was too thin and was breaking into to many pieces. You DEFINITELY don't get that crunch sound you hear on social media. Too thin. The cream inside was not the right temperature, making the milk cream taste almost gamy. I question the quality of the ingredients. My guess is loaded ingredients. I let it sit out for 1.5 hours and it's still mildly frozen. $14 To me personally, I would give it 3/5 Strawberry filled mousse - this tasted better than the mango one for sure. Some places have naturally steep prices due to their location but this location is kind of random, tucked behind a dingy gas station with only 3 parking spots out front. When we walked in, the vibe felt a little awkward--no music playing, and it was hot and stuffy inside. The display case was really small too, and only had a handful of desserts at just 2-3 hours after opening and no line or anyone else inside. We've driven to LA a few times for the mango pastries which all sit between $10-$15 up there, but were excited to see something more local. We came because of a TikTok video about their mango dessert, which was shown to be $12 not even two weeks ago. I was pretty surprised when my total came out to over $15 for just one dessert. The mango is now $14 + the tax. I do think for such a steep price, the quality should match. The mango presentation wasn't that great--the airbrushed effect looked caked on which made the texture really weird. The fresh mango inside was sour, and the cake at the bottom was rough and dry :( The mousse was nice, but the flavor of the shell itself was odd (didn't taste of white chocolate?) and overpowering. Nothing about any of the flavors/textures felt high quality enough to justify such a pricy tag for us. Just fruit, cream & a thin cake base. Wish it had something to make it more unique and worthwhile. Another thing that stood out was the spoons. They were just tossed in an open container laying flat instead of standing up, which means people's hands could easily touch the part that goes in your mouth. Between the thought of touching the door handle, handling money, and then anyone just touching the spoons, it just came off as pretty unsanitary. I was really looking forward to trying the desserts here, but the location was a bit strange, it's basically next to a gas station, and there were some homeless people around who came up to talk to me, which felt a little scary. As for the desserts themselves, they were just okay, extremely sweet. I also tried the Dubai chocolate cup, but it was mostly just sugary without much real flavor. The rotating menu keeps things fresh and exciting with seasonal flavors and accessibility to pastries that I usually have to drive to west LA for. I was so happy to see that they're serving the mango shell dessert - and let me tell you it did not disappoint omg every bite was heavenly. We ADORE Sweetheart's Lounge! The service is 100/10 and the pastries are homemade GOODNESS! The staff are very kind and welcoming. They do their best work to make sure you enjoy your time & your food. The variety of sweet baked goods is amazing and the prices are Great! Please please try the carrot cake 10/10. Parking is a bit scarce in the small area during the afternoon, so keep that in mind. Restaurant itself is very tidy and clean and has plenty of tables and chairs to lounge in with your sweetheart. ;) This place has a love for their craft and you can taste it in the food and feel the community with their neat art wall.
