The dogs were pretty good to try, but the ratio of sausage to cheese was a little off. Honestly the highlight was the soy chicken... one of the best chicken popcorns that I've ever had. Highly recommend getting it!
My friend and I have gotten very into K-corndogs and have always stood by the food gallery ones, but I have to say that these have dethroned the K-Town classics as my new favorite. Something about the crispy sugar-coated crust on these is texturally unlike any other dog I've had. I got the original with half mozz and half sausage, which is the way to go, and they let you drizzle your own sauces on so I tried them all. I really liked the combo of the new cilantro aioli with their sweet chili mayo and cheese sauce, in my mind the more sauces the better and they were all unique flavors I haven't experienced before beyond the typical spicy mayo and mustard drizzle. The mozz was hot and stretchy, sausage was your run-of-the-mill dog. The food took a while to come out when I was picking it up, so honestly would recommend sitting in, not a whole lot of ambiance but perfect for a quick bite on the way to a show.
This place is super chill clean easy to find. You can't miss the two cute faces hanging on the side of the awning. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The food was great made fresh and super delicious. I purchased the soy garlic chicken bowl and the spicy soy garlic poppers and two beverages and spent a total of 42.48 it was a good portion and so worth it!
I've been wanting to try out this place so randomly stopped by here for lunch. I got the Spicy Soy Garlic Chicken Bowl. The chicken was actually so delicious and great quality. The chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy on the inside. I tried all their fun sauces, but was honestly not super impressed. They were almost too saucy/creamy and took away from the chicken. The original soy garlic flavor on the chicken is perfect as is!
So good mane. The chicken is crunchy, flavorful, and juicy. The gochujang is sweet, spicy, and nicely salted. Overall a delicious meal. The ambiance is cute and someone clearly thought a lot about it. Highly recommend !!
I went on a Saturday night around 5pm. There was only one person working in the front and maybe 1 or 2 in the kitchen so the food came out slowly, but I didn't mind the wait because the food was good. There's a few tables to sit at, but it seems like mostly a takeout spot, since many drivers came to pick up food. Their sauces suited the flavors of their fried food, since they were all sweet. My favorites were the Spicy Cheddar Cheese and Spicy Honey Mustard. I would come back to try their other dishes. * Original and Potato Corn Dog - 8.5/10 - I like the half sausage and half mozzarella combo, and the cheese pull was perfect! The outside was super crispy, but it's a bit greasy and heavy. * Chicken Sandwich Combo - 9/10 - I wish they would use a chicken breast or thigh instead of tenders, because the small tenders kept falling out of the sandwich. The combination of the coleslaw and sauce went well with the fried chicken, and the fries were pretty crispy.
I LOVE SWEETIE'S! I first visited through yelp and my boyfriend and I split a K dog. For months he continued to badger me, asking when we'll go back again. Lucky for me, I was a short ways away twice in one week, and got to visit twice again. My boyfriend and I went back for two dogs, and their fried chicken. It was absolutely delicious, after a long day of manual labor it was deserved. Sweetie's is a casual space with a lot of seating. You may walk in thinking it's empty, but if your experience is anything like mine you'll turn around after ordering to a line behind you. Everything is always fresh, so it takes a couple of minutes to prepare. I prefer the cheese dogs (only) - it's the most amazing combination of fried dough, cheese, sugar, and spicy sauce. The sauce! This is what sold me at my first visit. Try to eat there, if you can, and try all of the glorious sauces they have to offer. I'm starving right now writing this. l may even walk over for one now.. This is a must try if you're a k-dog lover or are k-dog-curious.
I have seen this restaurant on my Yelp ig page and I was immediately attracted to this place. The chicken looks sooo good. It is a train ride away from me but I just knew I had to make the trip. My intent was to get the wings but I also couldn't help but get the poppers. I ordered to go. Once home like 30mins later I did have to warm up the chicken again. I was told I didn't need any extra sauce but I got a small squirt of 2 sauces into my to-go box. I can't really say the sauces made a difference. My wings were the soy garlic. They were ok. Thr chicken itself had no real flavor. And I had the poppers which were spicier and over all more enjoyable. I def prefer the poppers. Easier to eat and also I love the spicy. I would get those again. The corn dog looks good but I will have to make another trip to try that.
Finally found a moment to check out Sweeties. The place was virtually empty at 2pm on a Monday. I ordered the Umma's Tenders ($14) & Fries & the Gochujang Poppers ($16) knowing I wouldn't finish either and was served 15 minutes later. The servings are quite ample. I was offered extra hot Gochujang & accepted. The dish was hot in temperature but not brow dampening chili spicy at all. Very flavorful with a nice crunch on the initial bite & quite tender & juicy inside. The tenders & fries were also satisfying but for the inconsistency of the crust on the chicken. Soggy in spots & crispy, as intended, in others. The flesh of the tenders was perfectly cooked. The fries had no sogginess at all & were seasoned very nicely. Addictive. I think the issue was likely due to placing the chicken atop the hot fries (as opposed to beside) & the steam softened the crust? The overall experience was good. They care about what they're serving & the space is spotless.

TLDR: Great Korean fried chicken shop in Greenpoint. Spicy crispy wings and definitely try a Korean corn dog. I was curious to try a few spots in Greenpoint and this was one of them. The chicken is fried fresh so you do need to wait a bit but who doesn't want their chicken made to order? I'm not a corn dog person at all but I did try the half/half with the potato coating. It was still hot from the fry and the cheese pull on the mozzarella half was very impressive. The beef hot dog half was also good as well. It's finished with powder sugar (as it's mean to be) and it all works pretty well together. Grabbed one for the wife and she was very happy with it. I ordered the crispy spicy wings and these were very enjoyable. There are not many Korean chicken shops that do this style. I prefer mine sauceless and the battery has a nice kick to it. The skin is crunchy and the chicken is juicy and VERY HOT. Brought some wings back home and air-fried them the next day, still very delicious. Definitely would check out again if I'm in the area. read more

Tried the soy garlic wings but spicy It was a little oily but I think it's cus it was just so fresh.. cus after a bit it was fine. And yes I know it's fried chicken lol but there's like too oily and stuff anyway Surprised at how good it was. The batter was light and crispy and not too thick. Loved that it came out hot and fresh. Lots of good places to eat nearby and there is pelicana pretty close by but if I'm craving chicken I'd rather go here and support a more local store and I think the chicken is better cus it comes out so fresh. read more

No seasoning on food is crazy lol. Especially fried chicken. Like come on, that's wild. But the food is fresh as ever and hot as in prepped per order. I ate my food in the restaurant and since the portion of chicken tenders and French fries was quite large, I reheated and ate some of the tenders at home. They tasted just as fresh as ever. So the main thing with this eatery is that the food is fresh!! Also, the food is served in a timely manner and I received great customer service. If I'm ever craving plain plain fried chicken that is very fresh, I'd come here. And when I say plain I do mean absolutely minimal if no seasoning. Came in the last hour of closing and there was still people coming in to order. The sign says 10-15 minutes wait but it came out much quicker than that. It was piping hot! I got the 8 piece crispy wings. They had sauces throughout the place to put on the KFC. The wings were very crisp, juicy, and meaty. I used the spicy cheddar sauce the whole time. It was spicy and sweet. I really didn't taste the cheddar. read more

Just great. Fresh light and amazing flavor that doesnt overpower your taste buds. The whole time i'm eating im thinking of eating more bc its so tasty and not heavy. Idk how to explain the not heavy thing, usually the cheese dogs gimme me a heavy taste but this is so airy crispy and light yet satisfying to eat. It was a bit of a trek for me to get to Greenpoint for this, and I don't think it was worth the trek. This was not the first time I had Korean style corn dogs so I knew what to expect - a sugary shell for the dog/mozz, and a nice stretch mozzarella interior. I heard that the sausages are a little tasteless so I opted for the full mozzarella. Mozzarella was great, and it was nicely made but did not stand out of all the other Korean corn dogs I tried. I preferred their soy garlic poppers, but maybe were a tad bit salty for my taste. They also had a little assortment of homemade sauces that I also thought were fine, but did nothing to cut the saltiness of the soy garlic poppers. I added the sauces the the corndog and came to a similar conclusion - yummy sauces but didn't seem to add much to the corndog. Nice place to go to if you're craving Korean corn dogs, but not worth the trip for me. Also would not recommend to anyone who doesn't like sweet and savory mix. read more
This place has some of the best fried chicken and fries I've ever eaten. The crispiness is done right...it's crunchy but not greasy or hard. The chicken is tender and juicy. The fries are light, crisp and flavorful - no ketchup needed. The corn dog was so delicious that I would have gotten another one had I not been so full from the chicken itself. For a Tuesday night, this place was not too packed inside which was perfect for us since we wanted to stay and eat our meal. The inside is a simple yet casual vibe that is brightly lit and very neat and organized. We ordered the half and half corn dog (mozzarella + sausage), the 8-piece chicken wings and the chicken tenders and fries. Side note...if you purchase chicken or a bowl and you pay with cash, then you can get a free drink! Why not? It was a good way to complement the meal. When the food is served, it may not look like a whole lot but it is actually just perfect...of course be careful because the fried chicken and corn dogs will be hot as that's as fresh as you can get it. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. And do yourself an even bigger favor and try to eat their food in the store so that the chicken remains perfectly crispy without staying in the box too long. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Had wanted to try this place for a while after seeing an IG post. Glad that I finally had a chance. The soy garlic wings were crispy, flavorful, juicy and delicious. The tenders were fresh, incredibly juicy though it could have used a little bit more flavor. I tried a corndog for the first time and it was awesome. Tried the half mozzarella and half beef, which was sweet and savory. I'm definitely coming back here again. read more
So far this has been the best Korean fried chicken I ever had. I don't normally get boneless chicken but omg it was juicy and very flavorful. Me and my fiancé got the soy garlic flavor. You cannot go wrong that is the best flavor in my opinion. We will definitely go back! read more
Located right off the G train, this is a great spot to pick up some fried chicken on your way home. Not a busy location so you're sure to get your food freshly made. The mozzarella corn dog is comparable to the places in the city and a decent price. Had the chicken poppers and they were so juicy and delicious! Definitely recommend. read more

Highly recommend Sweetie's! I came hungry and it did not disappoint. I was very pleasantly surprised by the fried chicken. It was perfectly crispy and even more importantly, every single bite was juicy. The chicken was cooked just right. When it comes to fried chicken, I hate when the chicken is dry or there's inconsistency with different pieces. There was absolutely none of that here. I've seen a few posts saying that the chicken was too oily but that wasn't my experience at all. I got soy garlic, which was flavorful but not overwhelming. There are other Korean chicken places where I have a hard time finishing the meal because it just too much. I finished everything you see in the picture except for one wing because I was too full. But that wing air fried the next day was better than most places fresh. The corn dog and fries were great too. Perfectly fried (seems to a theme). The corn dog is chewier than most other places, I think they use a rice flour base, which I liked a lot. If you dine in, they provide a bunch of different tasty sauces that you can add to everything. The restaurant is cute. Well designed and clean. They have a bunch of tables for customers to sit and eat. I got there a bit before dinner time on a Saturday and by the time I finished my food, almost every table was taken and most them seemed like locals who were repeat customers based on how they interacted with the staff. Next time I'm in the area I going to make sure I stop by again. read more
Went on a Tuesday and service was a bit slow due to only two staff working- mother and daughter duo. We got the half and half corn dog and it was delicious! They have amazing sauces- my fav was the spicy honey mustard! We also go the bulgogi bowl for $15 and it was amazing! Will def come back to try other items! read more
We got the spicy pork bowl and the chicken wings, and there was plenty of food for the two of us. The food came out pretty quick, has a nice homey diner vibe, and was very tasty. The wings were moist yet very crunchy, which is essential for good Korean fried chicken wings, and the pork bowl had a good balance of meat and rice. A great spot to grab a quick bite. read more

Friend saw this shop somewhere from social media and dragged me to try it out. I think the owners are mom and daughter as indicated in the cute logo. We tried Umma's tenders and fries and Gochujang poppers. Everything taste good. The tenders are so soft and juicy and most importantly, they are not greasy at all. The fries come with it are also flavorful and fresh. For the poppers, we ordered spicy flavor. I think the sauce is a bit overpowered to me. I can only ate a few pieces then I have to drink water to calm down the spice in my mouth. Overall, we like the meal. They also have various sauces you can pick to go with your fried chicken based on your preference. Tips: if you pay by Cash, you can get free drinks! read more
