I had high expectations for Little Dokebi but honestly was slightly disappointed. I shared veggie fried mandu, Korean fried chicken in dokebi spicy flavor, and kalbi tacos. The chicken was underwhelming, and I was expecting saucy wings but it was a dry rub. Which is okay, but the flavor was still a little lackluster. The tacos and mandu were good, but fell short of my expectations and weren't anything special. I would like to come back and try new items, because they have a lot of things on their menu and maybe I should try something else. read more

A friend had been telling me to come here for years. So finally for her birthday, we decided to trek out to green point and try a friend favorite. My only wish is that I came here sooner. This Korean restaurant offers the best dishes the cuisine has to offer. We all split many dishes and each ordered a Bimbimbap hot stone which I have been dreaming about since I've ordered it. Not only was that amazing, but their wings; crunchy, flavorful and HOTTTTT. they served it with these vinegar cubes (radish, if I had to guess) that totally cuts the spice. A great discovery that night. The drinks are fun and use Korean inspired flavors. They have large windows so it got a little chilly sitting at the front, but the heat was coming at our feet which helped. Food came out quick. For a large party, they were speedy and thoughtful. I got the ttuckmandoo guk and jt was okay - wasn't anything too special. A clean soup that is good for a hangover or when you want something light on the stomach. Fish cakes and dumplings seemed like they just unfroze and tossed in some broth. I arrived at the restaurant around 6:40pm on a Saturday night, and from what I saw there was a lot of space available to eat indoors and outdoors. They had ample seating no wait for both. I asked for a seat for two people. The waitress said sure have a seat around the corner there is a table ready for you. I went and had a seat. She came to my table right after with a nasty attitude saying, "Where is the other person?" I said, "she's heading over and will be here in five minutes." The waitress said with the same attitude, "when it's Friday or Saturday we need the entire party to be seated together. So, she has to get here in five minutes." Okay, I totally get it if there's a mad rush for tables, every table is filled which it wasn't, and there is a line out the door. None of which happened! I'm like wth! Left a bad taste in my mouth. My friend arrives less than five minutes. We ordered food after a bit. Ordered the KFC - Korean Fried Chicken. Eight pieces of wings in spicy dokebi sauce. It was more on the spicy side, glad that I didn't order the really spicy one. Also, ordered two Kalbi Tacos which was tasteless even with the sauce on the side. I've definitely had better. Just got one banchan as a side dish the pickled white mu radish. I mean out of everything the banchan was the best. It doesn't say much! I always pass by this place on my walks across the bridge and wanted to try it as the name was cute. But with the sub par service (I asked for one napkin and the waitress returns much later with it, did she go to the moon to get it?!) and the food being eh, I won't be returning. read more

My favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. It's always busy but you usually won't have to wait for a table. The light and ambience are excellent as it looks right out over the park. Pretty good delivery option for Korean food. Portions are rather small for the prices though. I had the pork mandoo, the ttuckppokki, and the Kalbi Beef bbq entree. The mandoo was 5 small pieces, but they did have good flavor and a nice pan fried bottom, albeit lukewarm despite fast delivery. The ttuckppokki was really nicely cooked, soft and chewy. I liked that it came with vegetables and wasn't just floating in a container of sauce. I enjoyed this dish! Only complaint is for $10 I wish I got more than 7-8 rice cakes. Finally the Kalbi beef was nicely cooked and seasoned, tender. It came with veggies as well and all the banchan and lettuce to wrap it up. Was a solid dish, just wish it arrived warmer but for freshly grilled meat, I understand delivery was going to affect that! Would love to come in person and try some other dishes as well! read more

Restaurant is cash only but they have an atm indoors which is convenient. Everyone at the restaurant was kind, friendly, and helpful. Drinks were unique and refreshing - I got the Seoul Mule which I really enjoyed. Food-wise I tried the vegetable dumplings and the bibimbap with chicken. Both were good! We were also served banchan side dishes which were delicious. Note that you should ask about vegetarian options as many items that seem vegetarian may not be because of ingredients in the sauce. This place looks adorable, both inside and out. Currently during the pandemic, they had a little setup with pantry items that they are selling, a smaller outpost of their sister store Kimchee Market. I was a bit tempted by the merchandise -- I love a clean food drawing. They also have complimentary barley tea for those who are waiting for pickup, and currently have a discount on pickup orders, so do take advantage. Just a note that they are cash only, though there is an atm inside. A friend and I split the ttuckppokki (rice cakes), the dokebi spicy fried chicken (8 piece), and the vegetarian scallion pancake. We thought it was plenty of food, and all delicious. The rice cakes were soft and chewy, and amazing in the sauce. I also loved the texture of the pancake and the flavoring of the fried chicken. The sour of pickled radish side that came with was a good complement to the salty, crispy, oil-lavished chicken skin. The barley tea was a refreshing treat in itself, and good as a palate cleanser before and after. Our ordering process was fairly straightforward, and they also have an outdoor dining setup for those inclined. Oh, and I thought it was adorable that they had custom covers for their takeaway chopsticks. Overall, a solid meal and a satisfactory soothe to my Korean food craving. read more

This location is not the greatest. It was our first time here. Try the one in WB or order from the market delivery! Their consistency at the other locations are nearly flawless. We came here for dinner thinking it would be just as good as the other locations. We've dined in and ordered take out from other locations and it's always been delicious! Not sure if they had an off day today but the food was not up to par. The soup we ordered was probably the best but it was slightly on the warm/ cold side. Our octopus with udon noodles was cold and overly salty. I usually love this with the side of rice but we could not finish it. It was too over seasoned. The pork shoulder was also cold. We wouldn't send anything back or complain since it's covid and we get that some places have off days. Our service was super nice though. Very attentive and friendly. The outdoor dining space is super spacious and a great addition to the establishment. When you dine in they serve you banchan in plastic to go containers which we think is super wasteful/ bad for environment. (They don't do that at tithed location ). I like this place, this is one of the closest Korean restaurants in neighborhood. I order their takeout sometimes. (They have 20% discount for takeout if you pay by cash.) Jeff and I went out to to this cute little restaurant in Brooklyn (look at us!). I heard of Little Dokebj from my friend Monica, so we had to check it out. Jeff got the Bimbimpop and loved it. I got the Kimchee Bokum Rice, which was really interesting and delightful. Picture your standard chicken fried rice, but with rich, spicy flavors, getting that authentic Kimchi experience from the texture of the cabbage. Nice cozy spot, completely unexpected. They had some authentic korean dishes that matched their expected taste (and spice level) including some other variants like the pork belly burrito! Nestled deep in Greenpoint, Little Dokebi is not the kind of Korean restaurant you would normally think to try as it's not as authentic as many people seem to like for their NYC Korean cuisine experience, however, missing this spot would be a mistake. We popped in for dinner and were greeted to a delightful rustic atmosphere, with wood covering most of the surfaces and areas, giving me the feeling of something between a country western film and a spot grabbed out of ancient Korean culture. Food wise, everything seems familiar to someone well versed in Korean cusuine or who frequents K-Town. From the pajeon to the banchan and even the taste of the kaibli we had, everything is delicious and we'll presented. The alcohol selection is also great with a nice selection of imported beers and souju. Do I have any complaints? Well, it's cash only, and while they have an ATM, Id recommend to anyone not to use a non-bank ATM, ever. Not really a knock on Little Dokebi, just an FYI. Otherwise, it was a solid dinner. More of a Brooklyn-esche interpretation of Korean food rather than authentic, but still tasty and worth the trip! read more
