    Shrimp and grits

This place was awesome overall. It was pretty crowded, but they moved fast and kept things flowing. If you like attentive service with waitresses checking on you often, I'd recommend sitting at a table instead of the bar since the bartenders stay pretty busy. Even with that, we still had a good experience. There was a little mix-up with our food a few people who ordered after us got their meals first, and the table next to us accidentally received our order, so we ended up waiting a bit longer. It was definitely frustrating at the moment, but once our food came out, it made up for it. We had the shrimp and grits along with the steak, eggs, and hashbrowns, and everything was delicious. The sweet cream cold brew was really good, and even though the orange juice was a little small, it still tasted fresh. The atmosphere was nice, and I also liked that they had outdoor seating. Overall, despite the small hiccup, I'd still come back and recommend this spot.

Really enjoyed sweet milk! I never figured out what sweet milk is but I had a lovely breakfast. The service was a bit confusing but they were super nice and the food arrived quickly.

My friend has been trying to get me to check out his favorite brunch spot for ages, and I finally made it. Now it's our shared favorite! I can't say enough good things about Sweetmilk. We stopped in on a Sunday morning, and were greeted with big smiles and quick service. I had the Southern Breakfast Bowl... fried chicken, hot honey, pickled onions, and pimiento cheese grits. I dream about it. Great atmosphere, food, and service. You have to try this place out!!

Excellent brunch spot! Food, service and ambiance are all excellent. An extra bonus is the free parking and not being downtown. This was my second visit. Great space to meet up for brunch and close to airport if you want to grab a bite before your flight. Dining solo or with a group, there is a space for you.

Absolutely great service in our order to go! Americano coffee and garage biscuits with side order of biscuits! Gave us extra jam! So so good! Highly recommend!

Met friends for brunch and enjoyed the experience. Had a short wait, less than ten minutes, and we were seated. Our server was great and very attentive. The food is great so some things run out toward closing, so be a little flexible. There is a large, bright, and surprisingly quiet dining room with roll-up doors for the outdoor feel on mild days.

Sweetmilk was a solid 10 out of 10. The space felt open and inviting, the service was on point, and the food came out in about six minutes. The coffee was smooth and delicious. My steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, and my partner's shrimp and grits were amazing. I'm a big grits fan, and these were honestly some of the best I've ever had. So good. Lily was great with her services

I stopped by SweetMilk in Donelson for breakfast and was so impressed! I ordered the breakfast casserole, and it was so good -- warm, flavorful, and perfectly comforting. The service was super quick too, which made the experience even better. The staff were friendly and everything came out fresh and fast. Definitely a great spot for a cozy breakfast in Donelson -- I'll be coming back! I was also pleasantly surprised there wasn't a super long wait on a Saturday morning, but it was definitely getting more crowded as we were leaving!

Looking for brunch places outside of Downtown Nashville? SweetMilk is relatively close , near the airport/hermitage area! With a variety of breakfast lunch options! Designated parking so no hustle and bustle trying to find a spot or having to pay!

We are on vacation and this was a last min add to the day. The food was good but the hash browns were a little greasy. My grits were outstanding. I also would put the raspberry jam on ANYTHING and eat it. The service was hit and miss. Food to table was on point but the drinks and interaction with out server was lackluster. It was a little disheartening to sit next to two regulars who got all the refills and extras and food within mins of sitting down. Treat ALL your customers this way and you will always have regulars. Overall it was a great meal but just need to reevaluate the service.

Stopped in for brunch on 10/13 around 11am! Sweetmilk is SO good and I loved the story behind its name! It had the best vibe! The food was delicious and they had the best ice for your drinks! The service was great as well and it was a busy Monday morning!

Visiting from CT and I am a big fan of shrimp and grits. This breakfast was delicious and their freshly squeezed orange juice nearly cured my hangover on the spot. Loved the outdoor dining space, friendly and attentive waitstaff. This neighborhood is lucky to have this local brunch restaurant.

If you don't mind the wait, this is a good place to come for a unique breakfast. The sweet potato pancakes are worth the whole trip. Out of this world!

    Love bringing my family here!

In the spirit of getting out and making an effort to explore my new city I decided to find a place to go and enjoy a solo date night and grab a fancy drink. You know the vibes a Carrie Bradshaw moment but make it Nashville style. I found this place via instagram and read all the great reviews and decided to get out and try it. A cozy place tucked and hidden in the heart of east Nashville. It is somewhat hidden with a small parking area but I was fortunate enough to get parking right in front. I walked in and the decor is pops of red and black mixed with gold. The light is dim so it's a perfect date night spot or place to meet and have an intimate small group gathering. It wasn't busy and I enjoyed that there wasn't too many people. The vibes are relaxed and I was greeted right away. Checking out the menu I decided on a spicy margarita concoction with tajin. The bartender brought it out and it was the perfect blend of flavor, spice and alcohol. It was refreshing and sweet/spicy. Perfect. This place is the perfect solo date night spot or date spot with your special someone or catch up sessions with friends. I enjoyed sitting, sipping and writing this review. Solo dates can be daunting and being in a new city can be daunting as well but finding hidden gems like this make it worth while. There's a quote that I love and that's "if you never go you'll never know." Don't let this be a place youll never know... head to your date with this place. Head to Amsterdamian.

Outside is another variety of seating, more great views, and a chance to catch the breeze. Nice selection of local draft beer. Friendly bartenders happy to make whatever cocktail you'd like, and a list of specialties to choose from. They're a little limited in the liquor selection, but glad to run downstairs to the lobby bar, if they have something needed for your drink. Shared the pimento cheese appetizer. Really good pimento cheese, and the special crackers it was served with were excellent. Wife enjoyed a salad with shrimp. I did the fried shrimp hoagie. The shrimp were perfectly fried, the flavors spot on. Just have to ding them a little for the sandwich being completely structurally unsound. Most of the shrimp had already fallen out of the bread when it was served, and it was impossible to get the shrimp back on the sandwich long enough to get it to your mouth. Still enjoyed it, would just have preferred a true sandwich to something that required a fork and knife. Still highly recommend if you want a casual meal, a pleasant time, and a great view. We'll certainly be back.

There was no live music available at the time, but they did have a DJ which I thought was spinning the turntable rather well. It's my bad that I didn't also catch on that his is basically a Tequila Bar, rather than a more general craft cocktail establishment. Judging by the well stocked bar and the word of our waitress, other alcohol and their associated craft creations are available, but it's pretty much off menu and not well into our waitress' repertoire. And yes, Cinco de Mayo was just a few days away. One member of our party just wanted a soft drink, which was not possible that night as their CO2 was down. That did make me wonder whether the non-alcohol drinkers had much to chose from here. I suppose we could have then wandered over to the Redemption Bar at Chief's? Anyway, we're not Tequila Drinkers, and since other drink options appeared to be guesswork, we left towards more traditional mixed drinks (and live music) at a nearby Printers Alley bar. This was a rare night that I really wanted a craft cocktail in a smooth environment, and in the end it just wasn't the same.
