Nashville Biscuit House on Gallatin is a local spot if I have ever seen one. Farmhouse and local decor, old school register, faded and dated exterior, original seating, stained ceiling tiles, guitars, awards and some of the friendliest servers you will ever encounter! I have driven by many times, and honestly, the exterior is a bit worn down and doesn't give the best of first impressions, but I finally decided to stop in for breakfast and glad I did. Also, the phrase "never judge a book by its cover" was created for spots like this, so shame on me! I'm a sucker for a good southern breakfast, especially biscuits and sausage gravy. That is what I went with for my first visit, a full order, which consists of 2 biscuits topped with sausage gravy. The biscuits were fluffy, hot and the perfect vessel for the creamy and sausage chunked pepper gravy...and only cost me $6! The side of sausage was a bit disappointing as it was a singular patty that was well done and cost $4. But overall, a breakfast for $10 that is made to order is still a win! The place is small, only about 16 tables with most being booths. Open seating, so find a table, take it. Servers are beyond friendly and helpful! They work the room together, with no designated sections, so I was assisted by three lovely ladies throughout my meal. As mentioned in the opening, the place has seen better days and could use some help conditionally. Maybe it's part of the local charm? I can get down with that, but the disrepair on the outside and stained ceiling tiles should probably be addressed at some point. There are two entrances, and a drive thru window. So whether you want to sneak in, walk-in and be seen or grab your food on the go, they have you covered. Overall, I am a huge fan of spots like this and am happy they still exist and seem to be thriving!

The service was super friendly. Coffee was good and the refills were a plenty. Biscuits were fluffy and yummy, even ordered an extra after they came to the table. The Philly steak omelette was the perfect filling to egg ratio (coming from the person that doesn't really like eggs). The grits and home fries were so-so, but they aren't why we went there. The bacon was perfect. The walls are decorated with fun signs and local art. They also have a drive thru option to get your food to go. Don't judge the book by the cover, since the outside could use some love.

There aren't many traditional diners in Nashville, but this one is truly the best. The staff is incredibly friendly and you can tell that they are truly a family. I've gone here hung over and I've gone here completely sober and but regardless, the food is exactly what I've needed. They've got incredible biscuits with country gravy, and then all of your other standard diner fair which really hits the spot. It can get really busy on weekend mornings, but the weight never seems to be too unbearably long. They have a drive-through which doesn't make sense to me and I haven't used it, but it is there. Not sure if it's still in operation.

5 stars all around. We went two days in a row while in town for a concert it was busy on Sunday morning but we didn't wait long and food came out really fast. Food was so good and staff was very nice! It's your typical diner style ambiance. We'll definitely be back!

The place is a bit small but the people are nice and the food is solid. It was more expensive than I thought it would be (about $20) but It's a solid spot.

I am feeling the need to rank this 5 star other than it being an icon and having good value, quality, and flavor. Okay, perhaps that is enough. Roll that beautiful bean footage. Happened to be on this side of town to pick up a game my son-in-law won at the Nashville Game Day and driving back said to myself "myself, you have never frequented this lovely restaurant that looks like a dive". Suggesting insanity, I answered, "self, you are right, let's go". At least that is the version when they make a Hollywood movie out of my life. Place looks like a dive on the outside (see picture). Signage is faded. Some broken parts. WIth the right lighting, it could be a horror film? Probably not, but went in and surprise ... still looks like a dive. Oh, this is gonna be great (can you tell I love the experience as much as I love food). Drawing on the white board shows a cow pissed a chicken for eating his brother and a chicken pissed off at a cow for eating her children (see picture). Got in and a 45 minute wait. People behind me also grabbed a brew at Tailgate during the wait and were only there about 15-20, so they are conservative on wait times. Bonus points! Said 20 mintues for my to go, actually took 10. No bonus points, as I could have used a bit more time, but I never told them, so we are still friends (unlike the cow and the chicken?). I had a Denver omelet, as I was too lazy to read through the menu, with hash browns and a biscuit (this is the biscuit house. Duh!) I guess technically home fries? (see picture) Anyway, got a chance to eat them at a beer bar sans food down the road and it was like magical unicorns cooked my food. No, seriously more like a typical diner, although I do give them additional props for the biscuit which was moist and crumbly inside with a nicely baked outside (hey, they are the biscuit house, right?). Loveless used to be the bomb in town prior to the biscuit lady passing on (R.I.P.). Yes, I am in a mood today, but the thing you should get (besides the insane story telling) is I sincerely love this place. Diner that understands how to cook eggs without being greasy, nicely cooked home fries, and good biscuits (Biscuit House, get it?). Foodwise, probably more of a 3 or 4 (average to above average). Experiencewise, a solid 5. What I saw of the service (and experienced with a togo) is a thumbs up. In summary: Great combination of home cooked type of Southern food with some nicely done biscuits. EDIT: Friends asked "why didn't you get the biscuits and gravy" and I thought "yep, that was really stupid, wasn't it?" Will have to rectify that in the future as I will be back. Oh, and why are the cow and chicken sitting at the same table anyway? So rude!

Finally stopped by and tried this place out! We went on a Sunday morning around 9am, and were seated right away. When we left, there was a wait, so the earlier the better. The servers were extremely friendly and our food came out very quick! The country fried steak with gravy was delicious! Plus the biscuits were moist and fluffy! Definitely do not skip those. The potatoes were just okay nothing too to special about them. Inside is a little dated, but worth the visit! Plus there is ample parking in the back.

When you need a home cooked breakfast head here. The staff works together perfectly. Prices were low. The place was packed and we got our food in less than 20 minutes. Fun little pictures on the wall and diner style booths.

I've eaten there a lot lately. It's hard to beat. They are a combination of quality and quantity. I've had more breakfasts than lunches but both are outstanding! My favorite is the corned beef hash with eggs (over easy) and crispy home fries or hash browns - I can't recall what they call them. The coffee is delish too... Don't forget the biscuits and gravy!!

    Jennifer H.

A quick and cheap breakfast option that is pretty good. I ordered a chicken sandwich as a wrap that was exactly as advertised - some grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, and onions. No frills or accessories needed. Tater tots were a great side, fried, crunchy, and exactly what you'd expect!

It was not traditional a southern breakfast. While the biscuits were not bad, the gravy was sweet and lacked flavor.

We started with the meatball skewers, which were great, and the sauce that came with them was perfection. I also have to mention the Cabernet, one of the best glasses of wine I've had in a while. The one drawback was the dinner menu felt a little limited on options. That said, what we got delivered. My fiancé had the strip steak, which was really good, and I got the pork, which was also amazing. Overall a really good experience. The 3.5 is mainly because we spent $250 and still left a little hungry. Other than that, a really cool place worth checking out.

I even had a chance to go before, when Toby and I had made plans in 2020 to come to the city. Obviously, we know what happened then. I think it was worth the wait. I loved their whole take on Southern cuisine. From the confit wings in Alabama white sauce to their Bucksnort trout, to their Heritage pork--everything tasted delightful. Admittedly, the bright green sauce and saturated Carolina gold rice looked a little funny to me. But once I had my first bite I thought it was heavenly. The server was impeccable. He was courteous, quick, and helpful. I had questions about the menu and concerns about if the arrangement of dishes ordered were too much. But he made the whole meal better with his suggestions and assurances. Even the other incidental staff were well-trained, filling the water and always assisting with the experience. The ambiance was picture-perfect. Obviously the place is permeated with charm and class in equal measure. It felt like we were eating in our well-off friend's home and had put together a spread of time-tested country favorites but with a twist. From the decor to the herb and vegetable garden outside, I felt super welcomed and comfortable. Yes, Husk was a success. I'm a changed man because of the experience. Sufficed to say I will be recommending it to even more people than before and will be waiting like a puppy at the window back home for the next opportunity to come back to Nashville and/or the other locations for my next meal.
