Used to come here when Andes were only seasonal to buy a huge bag, so I would say that was a definite appeal to the place. When you couldn't get certain candy at the supermarket, you could find it here. Why have we been to so many candy stores lately? 'Cause we see them when we are shopping, of course. Plus we were on vacation, too. Nice selection; gummies, jelly beans, chocolates, sugar-free, etc. My husband, the chocoholic, always make a beeline for the chocolates, while I go for the coke bottle gummies, the blue sour coke gummies, the sour straws. There were some cute plush keychains that I was debating getting, but restrained myself (my collection is big enough, but I keep getting more Hello Kitty). There were two young girls working here, and they were nice, and helpful. I like this place, but after going to another one, while on vacation, my husband thought it was expensive. If we come here again (remember me mentioning Dave & Busters in my review of the Block at Orange?), I'm sure we'll stop here again, too. read more

This is your typical candy shop. When you walk in, straight ahead of you is the pearl gum balls, on the right is your jawbreakers, on the left is your jelly beans, and in the middle is the cash register. Behind the cash register is where they keep all the chamoy and Mexican candies. Behind that is your licorice. Behind the jawbreakers on the right hand side when you walk in, you can find the chocolate covered goodies. Next to that is all your yummy gummy candies and sour belts/straws. On back left hand side is where they keep all the packaged gifts. I usually just go here whenever I'm craving gummy bears, but every time I do go, I always get these dirty looks from the the gals there. Especially the one wearing the glasses with really long hair. This time I bought different types of candies, and I separated them into different baggies. One for the gummies, one for the sours, and one for the chamoy. I noticed that the girl with glasses (I didn't get her name), kept looking at me! And I mean STARING. I felt it too! I wasn't even finished purchasing my candies and she probably asked me 6-7x if I was ready/finished while I was still scooping and picking my candies. I felt like she thought I was going to test the candy or steal something. Every time I go, the customer service is pretty inconsistent. Too bad there isn't a sweet factory around here because I noticed Atleast they're a lot more experienced in the customer service with the same types of candies, they're just a little bit more expensive. Although I love coming to this place every time I go to The Block, things have changed and not for the better. The employees here are not very friendly and don't do their job as well from what I remembered. Today, I went and I gave a friendly "Hi" greeting to the girl at the cashier and she only looked at me and turned away. Thanks for the reply. There were kids there making a mess from trying to pour chocolate and candy into their bags, and the employees didn't bother going over to help them or clean it up. Even after me and my friend set our candy onto the weigh machine, the girl glumly asked if we wanted a bag and only stared at us with a bored face. The candy here is okay, I usually go for the stuff that doesn't seem like it's super old. This is my favorite candy store of its kind...they have these Toffee Pistachios that are then covered in chocolate & powdered sugar...mouth watering & crunchy...they actually don't really taste like pistachios & I love pistachios, but if you don't, you'd like these cuz they don't even taste like the nut. No other similar type of candy store has these either. The only other place that did was Harry & David's but the stores closed so you can only buy their stuff online...the only bad thing is that not everything is available online...including the Toffee Pistachios. Every other kind of candy here is like anywhere else...the gummy ones, Reese's, Skittles, Runts, ect. I like the gummy strawberry's & cherry's, the gummy whole peaches & only the bananas from the Runts...& yes there is a container with just bananas, but they just don't taste the same. I just wanted to say that this candy store is not bad. It is not the best, but it it is clean and has a wide variety of candy, stuffed animals,and toys. The customer service here was not bad. I came in here to stock up on snacks before watching Suicide Squad. I was in rush so i just wanted to be in and out in less than 5 minutes, but there was a long line. Luckily there were two girls( i don't know their names, but they are pretty short and i think one of them wore glasses) working the register and the line disappeared quickly. I was able to get my candy and make it to the movie on time. I highly recommend coming here to stock up on candy before watching a movie. read more

My kids beg me to come here at least once a week, so I can bribe them with a trip here pretty easily. The candy is always yummy. My kids love all the different colored jelly bellys and the sour belts. The workers are always nice to my kiddos even when they are playing with all the stuffed animals around. They carry things all year round like candy corn, cinnamon imperials and Gum Drops. So this place is incredibly helpful for themed parties and creative bakers and so on. ALSO i owe the owner a thank you, when i was pregnant i called and asked if they would do an exception and send me my red licorice bites via UPS out to my work in Valencia and the girl who answered was very friendly ! The place is kinda small. They sell tons of yummy candies, pretty much anything you can think of. You go in there all excited because ur surrounded with all these candies but to be honest they are so over priced they charge you by the weight of your candies but u can get all that with less than half the price, total rip off. read more
