The diva cupcakes were dry. I liked the ganache. It should be called birthday cake because that's what it tasted like. Out of all the gelato flavors we ordered, the strawberry guava was the best. The mango coconut tasted weird because it didn't taste like mango coconut. I am going to go back and try out their ramen which is kind of random. Never been here for anything not sweet. I would love to try their ramen one day. We've been here 4 times. We have tried their cheesecake, pot de cream, cookie sandwiches, cupcakes, and regular cookies. Except for the cheesecake, we would get all of it again, and have! Just today! This place has some of the best ramen I've had outside of Japan! I've stopped trying out many new ramen places because most of them are just not great, but this place is incredible! They nail the basics (great noodles, broth, eggs, etc.) and have some unique and interesting additions that were excellent as well (dumplings, bok choy). Their deserts are also top tier, I had an absolutely incredible peanut butter brownie and gelato. Just try it out, even if you don't like it as much as I did, it'll definitely worth your while. Sweetspot makes an awesome hangout venue in Redding, especially on Thursday nights when there is a wine special (Buy 1 glass of wine, get another for a penny)! I especially love the live music. It's nice to have a live band playing in the background when you're hanging out with your friends. I decided to try the homemade ramen. I'd say it was an okay at best, and would give it a 3 out of 5. My wife and I frequent SweetSpot for their delicious ramen about once a week. When we moved from Portland to Redding, we were shocked to see that there aren't any dedicated ramen shops, but SweetSpot has filled the void for us. Unfortunately, we will be cutting back from visiting as frequently. We understand that inflation has increased the prices on everything we buy, but $14.50 is a little on the high side for ramen that doesn't contain typical ramen toppings such as marinated eggs, bamboo shoots, fish cake, and nori. You can purchase most of these items for an additional charge which would normally be no problem seeing as Redding has a very limited selection for ramen. SweetSpot seems to be aware of the limited selection as an additional $2.00 for ONE extra broccoli floret and $0.95 for HALF of an egg seems quite exploitative. After tip, (the service is always very good- a few of the employees have taken the time to learn my name!) we end up typically paying $40 for the two of us, where typically we'd pay $30 at any given shop. $10 may not be that much in savings, but we consistently spend money here and it certainly adds up quickly. We will continue to visit here, albeit much less than we have in the last. We hope, for everyone's sake, that this inflation soon dies down soon and we can return to normal life! read more

Decided to come here for Ramen, and also left with some sweet bakery treats. The Garlic Chicken Ramen is on point! Great depth of flavor in the broth. the chicken was seasoned perfectly, the veggies were fresh, and spice level two was just right....a really good kick, but not overpowering. I also added the soft boiled egg and dumplings, which were superb! The portion was more than generous. Enough for at least two meals! I added the lemon rosemary cookie, which was soft and cake-like, and had a wonderful balance between the two main flavors. The cupcake was chocolate with caramel ganache I believe. Our family put in a order for 2 dozen cup cakes late last year for a event. At that time they only had 4 types of cupcakes. To make a long story short. I called yesterday to place a order fir 6 dozen cup cakes. They were the same exact types that I was going to order last year. Start making the 15 or 20 types you were making. The whole covid thing is done and has been done. When you loose your customer base due to product not so much being unavailable but, just plain out not being made...........change needs to happen. He told me alot of there new customer base has come from sweetspot customers. There complaints weren't the product but, the variety of products available. We threw a bridal shower here and it was a great spot. $50 to hold the bar area privately and you can put that towards the food. We had about 20-25 guests and that area fit our group well. We ordered baked goods, flatbreads, coffee, and tea. They set it up nicely on the bar and we brought our own decorations as well. People still ordered their own drinks too. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking to throw a small, semi-private event. (The other side with the gelato is still open to the public and there'll be the occasional walk through if someone is going to the restroom.) There doesn't seem to be many places to do this in the area and this one is pretty affordable. Everyone was really nice and helpful. My friend likes these Earl Grey cookies they used to sell regularly, but they're available to order for special events which was nice. Terrible service! I waited 45 minutes before inquiring about my order and the gal acted offended. She checked and came out to say they were working on it. This place does not live up to its reputation. I've been twice. The first time there was a car show in town. I had to get in line twice in order to get soup and ice cream. Then they didn't even get the order correct. So I thought maybe they were just overwhelmed. I'll try it when their less busy. This time the unicorn poop ice cream was just that.
