This is a wonderful place to eat after visiting the Uranus General Store in Uranus MO. The food is excellent, fresh and plentiful for the price. The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly . The music sound track is worth the visit alone. read more

Very good barbecue and excellent value. I visit Fort Leonard Wood every couple years for work and make sure I come here each time. I had the ribs, pulled pork and sausage and they were perfectly done and flavorful. A large plate with three meats and two sides for around $12. Can't beat it. read more

Parked across from the restaurant at the pilot trk stop last night . Notice the restaurant last night ( Wednesdays ) wasn't packed. So was concerned when we went there at noon and still wasn't a lot people as we always go by the moto if there ain't a lot of local that ain't where you go . The best BBQ around for sure! I love a good BBQ and especially one that when you order they turn right around and open a GIANT smoker and pull your meat right out and hand it to you. ordered the sweetwater BBQ plate which came with ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. the meats were hot but the sides ordered were cold. the ribs had a funny taste to them as if they were sitting out for a while... not sure what to make of that... the restaurant was a bit dirty looking and for what i ordered, i thought it was a bit over priced. would i go there agian, NO!!! read more

Ate at Sweetwater on a Sat night. (I was here many years ago, and decided to give them another try.) They are right off Exit 163 on I-44. The exterior can be deceiving, as the seating area is not very big, but the restaurant was not crowded. You order at the counter, grab a table and they call your name when your food is ready. Based on other reviews, I went in expecting to order catfish, but that is not longer on the menu. I ordered the Combination Plate of two meats, pulled pork and spicey sausage. Sides were green beans and coleslaw. With a drink it came to $12. The pork was room temperature, with a very slight smoke flavor. I couldn't identify the wood, but it did not seem to be hickory. Hint of a smoke ring on the long strands of tender meat. I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side. It was ketchup based with a good amount of molasses. I am a fan of North Carolina vinegar based sauce, but this sauce was a nice change of pace. The spicey sausage arrived steaming, but I'm not sure why they call it spicey as it wasn't. The sausage was okay, but nothing special. The green beans were very, very good. Probably had to do with the amount of ham in the beans! The coleslaw was good. The staff was professional and fast. This was pretty much as I remembered it, middle of the road BBQ. So I am still looking for a good place in this part of the state. read more

So-so BBQ and surly help that won't meet your eye when you order. They just seem too busy taking your order to deal with you. If you have a problem with your order after you take your seat, forget their help. As you stand at the counter politely waiting for them to notice you, the server will actually wait for you to get out of the way so they can put food on the counter, then proceed to ignore you as they take more orders at the cash register. I will be back, because others want to go here, as Amanda W. mentions; they will learn soon enough that the hired help is hatin' on you. The smell chai g. noticed was a**hole stew. Oh, and you'll smell like it when you leave, too. I wonder what the problem is with the ventilation. Miller's has much better BBQ, all you can eat on Tuedays, the help is helpful, and you won't smell like smoke when you leave. read more

We found this place when looking for a lunch stop on a road trip from Chicago to Texas. It is a classic BBQ joint. We had brisket and pulled pork sandwiches as well as a mix of sides: baked beans, potato salad, onion rings, and coleslaw. Everything tasted great and was reasonably priced. We were able to sit at the picnic tables out on the porch with our dog and enjoy the weather. They even had a bone to offer our dog for lunch! It's perfect if you are traveling and looking for local fare. read more

I ordered the rib plate to go last night only to watch the cook heat the ribs up in a microwave. The ribs were dry and flavorless. The beans were average out of a can beans and the fries were wet and over salted. This cannot be the best Bar-Q-Que in the area this area. read more

The time it took to get our food was good, that was about the only good thing. The people are rude, they make you feel un welcome, and they act like you are intruding. The ribs werent very good, they just slap them between two pieces of white bread, bone and all. It was very loud, not from the customers but from the workers shouting back and fourth from the dinning room and the kitchen. (un work related) The prices arent worth it either. It seems like if you are military they treat you worse. We will never go back. I suggest Half Sauced in Osage Beach. read more

This place is amazing. They have great food which is priced very fair. This combination keeps me coming back time and time again. This is the best BBQ in the St. Robert area. The place is just like most BBQ joints, cafeteria style meat by the Lbs or plate specials. I ordered ribs, brisket and pulled pork and for my sides, corn on the cob and cole slaw. The ribs where tender but not very smokey, the pulled pork yuck, no smoke flavor and very dry. I had a hard time figuring out which was brisket and which was pulled pork, the where both chopped and shredded beyond recognition. The sauce was so sweet that it was just a resounding yuck. Surprisingly the cole slaw was not bad, the corn well where do I start. I have never had corn that was so overcooked that it had no flavor whats so ever, that's really hard to do. If you want good BBQ I would go somewhere else. I cant believe the ratings on this place, hence the reason we went, these people that wrote the reviews must have been raised by wolves or something. Warning if you want to waste your money, go buy a lottery ticket. read more

My husband and I stopped here for dinner. The outside looked nice and the inside had a picnic table area off to the left, that was it for seating. We had ours to go, which for some reason takes longer to get than eating in. We ordered the 2 meat special( brisket and ribs) with cornbread, french fries, and peach cobbler. We decided to split the meal since it seemed like it might be a lot of food. We were very wrong. We were given 3 end ribs that had more fat than meat, the brisket was so dry it was inedible, the french fries were soggy and salty, and the cornbread felt like it just came out of the refrigerator, the butter didn't melt at all, it just sat there. The peach cobbler was warm. All of it was served on 2 pieces of white bread, not sure why, maybe to make it look like you're getting more food than you are. We had asked for sauce on the side, one of the options you're given, and received none. The woman taking our order acted as if it was a bother for her to be there, she didn't greet anyone with a "hello" just what do you want and the price for dinner. Not worth the stop. read more
