Got the half slab of ribs (it was 7 full bones) and the 3 meat dinner meal (spicy sausage, pull pork and brisket) with the green beans and potato salad. The BBQ sauce was a bit sweet for my taste but pretty good. All the meats were fresh and the ribs were tender and fell right off the bone. Sides were average. Overall it was a good meal. read more

The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the woman who took my order. She was rude, and couldn't wait for us to get out of her face. Pretty annoying. But, the food was phenomenal. Yummy yummy yummy. Pretty good sweet barbeque, especially since St. Robert has pretty terrible food choices on weekends and in the evenings. Recently, my full rack of ribs were thin and too much fat. The sauce wasn't good, tasted like vinegar. Always had good ribs from there. Not sure where their QC has gone wrong. It was too much money for sub standard food. read more

I remember it being much better than it is now, not that it is bad but it could be better. The brisket was shredded instead of being sliced sort of like they were trying to hide something. The portions seem to be smaller now also, most BBQ joints have generous helpings so I was surprised to see 2-3 ounces of meat when I was expecting more. The homemade french fries are decent but were a bit on the soggy side. The beans tasted like they came out of a can instead of having smokey beef or pork trimmings. Wanted to go for 3.5 stars but gave them the benefit of the .5. Perfunctory BBQ you don't have to drive far for if you are craving it. Chicken was dry and over-cooked but the ribs were meaty and well-prepared. Sauce was tangy and a little sweet, but still solid. Nothing special. I actually expected more seeing how we are in the Midwest. I try to keep my reviews honest. The sauce them at came with my meal (ribs, brisket, and pulled pork) was really sweet. My food was like warm and the condiment station could use some love. The guy that took our order had no personality. I felt like I was a bother to him. I understand BBQ places and I know that the focus is usually on the food. To serve like warm food, especially with BBQ can diminish the flavor, which in this case is did. Fantastic! The parking lot even had room for our boat trailers. Definitely a hidden gem. The restaurant had good seating, and was full of repeat customers and first-timers at midday Saturday. Really great BBQ ribs that could honestly compete with the STL and KC joints. Will be back. read more

Some of the worst brisket I have ever eaten. This brisket was so dry the only way to choke it down was to cover the meat entirely with the not so good BBQ sauce. Only true BBQ place near Fort Leonard Wood. But was a huge dissapointment. It took 20min to get the food and it wasn't even busy. Then the food was cold! I really wanted to like this place because I love small town shops and restaurants and this got a 4 on Yelp, but the food just wasn't that good. I got the sweetwater special with sausage, ribs, beef, beans, and potato salad. The sausage was just okay, nothing special. The ribs completely fall off the bone, and not in the good way. The beef was dry. Beans tasted like it came from a can, and the potato salad tasted like a jar of mayo. The food was really bland and came out luke warm. The sweet tea was decent though. The condiments bar could use serious help. Maybe the food was blah because I went on a Sunday around 2... The service was okay. I love bbq and this place did it not justice. read more

The one and only time we went was from a referral from some locals. The place didn't live up to the hype. Bottom line: ribs looked done on the outside,,,were raw on the inside. Yes, I know how smoked ribs should taste. Understaffed and busy, so no way to get them to remedy this. We took the unused portion (already paid for) but my partner had to cook them a while longer so they were edible - as they should have been when served. My wife and I ate here the other day and we both ordered different meals hoping to sample what they had, I'm no BBQ expert but I know what I like. The first complaint we had was the wait, which of course is expected at good restaurants, but it wasn't really that busy so we didn't know why we had to wait 20 minutes for our food. Anyway, the second thing is when we did get our plates everything was room temperature. The only thing hot was a corn cob. The food wasn't horrible, but I have had a lot of BBQ and it just wasn't great, it's too bad cause we live close to the place. read more
