    a glass of iced water

I always order Ginger Fizz at the Novi location. It is so full of flavor, has the crushed ice, and they pour the Perrier water in front of you. I mention this because I was at Kerrytown with my friend and I've been hyping up the Ginger Fizz to her. I ordered one for her and boy, was it a waste of $5. It was bland, had a ton of "regular" ice, and there was no fizz. The color of the Ginger Fizz in my photo is not from it being watered down from the ice, the light color shows how watered down it was from the start.

Ive spent a lot of time here over the past 5 years. I love this spot because it's in Kerrytown (which is my fav) and connected to Sparrow market so I can grab groceries after I'm done or get lunch in the building or nearby. It's really just a cozy atmosphere to me where I can get done work done or read a book and sip on a tea.The staff is friendly and they typically have several treats on display from local vendors. Heads up due to short staffing like the rest of the world they have temporary hours and are only open until 7pm right now. Hoping they return to their normal 11pm hours soon but they don't really have control. Be kind!

I had no idea this was the original Sweetwaters location! I love coming here to do work and it's always a nice noisy but not too noisy environment - my ideal productivity environment. Customer service is typically really friendly and personable and there is usually plenty of seating. I love their jasmine teas as well as their matcha lattes!

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea is conveniently located in the Kerrytown Shops in a shared space with Sparrow Market. I enjoyed an incredibly delicious vanilla cappuccino here the other morning before picking up some groceries at Sparrow Market. I also enjoyed a tasty slice of the Sour Cream Coffee Cake which was moist and full of cinnamon goodness. My only disappointment with the food/service was that the server gave me a slice that was clearly missing part of the cake which kinda bummed me out because it wasn't a big slice to start with. Anyway, this seems like a good place to enjoy a cup of coffee while getting some work done as I saw several people with laptops out and it seemed like they had plenty of space to work at their table. However, it's probably a good idea to bring earphones to listen to music or earplugs as this place can be quite busy on the weekends and it shares an open wall with Sparrow Market. I'll definitely be back to enjoy a coffee and check out some of the other tempting bakery items. Several items in particular caught my eye and I couldn't resist taking a photo: the chocolate croissant, almond croissant, raspberry cupcake, and bite-sized macarons - YUM!

Love Kerrytown, and love this coffee shop attached to a market/grocery store! Bonus points for their vegan muffin option, although it'd be great if there was more than one vegan pastry option. I was also happily surprised to have my tea arrive in a pot, rather than a single cup. I sat here for 3 hours with my laptop and a lot of tea during a recent work trip and enjoyed watching the passerby through their huge windows that look out onto the bustle of Kerrytown. I'm already planning a trip back tomorrow to check out the attached market!

Cozy and sometimes busy caffeine shop. Visited for a nightcap of chamomile tea after crashing on Ann Arbor for the day. The menu board is large printed and unlike most places where it's located behind the counter, it's available for viewing within arms distance while you wait in line. I enjoyed how warm tea was served, already steeping in an individual tea pot. Enough water for two cups of teas as well. Relaxed in the sofa lounge chairs around a table which added another level of relaxation. They also sell most of their tea and coffee for purchase, if you find something you like.

Decent spot to grab a quick coffee and snack. Nothing spectacular. The real star of the show is the attached market

The bake goods are very hit or miss, but lately more on the miss. They are very stale and tough to eat.

The main thing Drip House has going for it is that it is effectively the only coffee spot to sit and study or meet someone right by the stadium (where a bunch of us live and/or work). It is also open into the early evening when a lot of other coffee spots aren't. And we do love an outside seating option. The service has always been just fine and it's a pretty cute spot (not to sound ridiculously nit-picky but while we're here--someone might wanna sheer some of the many dead leaves off the beautiful plant inside though). Also, the banana oat latte they had as a special a couple months ago was delicious. So yummy. Some things I don't love about Drip House: the blue chairs. So uncomfortable. It is expensive and, dare I say, overpriced. The first time I got my $14 piece of ricotta toast, it was delicious. And I figured, fine. It's $14 for a piece of bread with a little cheese and jam but it's so yummy, I'll splurge every once in a while and go with it. Plus, I can't eat tree nuts, so it is one of the few options for me. However, the second time I got it, it was most definitely not worth it. The "whipped" ricotta was just a sad, thin wet layer and there was practically no jam. I get it. It's expensive out here. We're living in the shadows of the avocado toast economy where espresso drinks cost minimum $7 and you effectively can't buy anything for less than $4. But just because you feel like you *can* doesn't mean you *should.* Paying $14 for a piece of bread.... Come on. It's insulting. It feels exploitative. Will i be going back? Yes, because of the proximity and sometimes a girl needs to go for a cute little walk to get a coffee--just to feel something. Would I if there was a competing coffee shop nearby? That remains to be seen. Also the size of the "large" iced drink. Come on guys.

Most recently I came here for a meeting, ordering a vanilla latte and a sweet potato hand pie to nibble on since I hadn't eaten yet. The description of the latter sounded so good, sweet potatoes with black beans and a few other veggies, wrapped up in flaky pie dough. The filling, however, was mostly pureed, giving it more of a baby food consistency which I didn't love. The flavor was good though but I couldn't get over the mushy texture. The black beans weren't pureed in but were few and far between (I think I maybe counted 2 or 3?). In addition to my hand pie I also ordered a piece of the billionaire's shortbread but they didn't ring it up/prepare it. By the time I realized it (I had to wait for my hand pie to be heated up) it was only a few minutes before close so I didn't bother going back up to the counter to reorder. IDK if they were just in a hurry to close or genuinely didn't hear my order but it was a bummer since it did look great. The vanilla latte, however, was quite good. And for a coffee shop that's most important. And what they lacked in substantial food options they did make up for in fun, seasonal drink specials and a few sweet treats like cookies and the aforementioned shortbread. The space is very cute, as well, and made for a really comfortable meeting location. So overall I did like my visit here. I just won't be rushing back here if I'm feeling peckish. But for a caffeinated pick me up and a nice place to meet or chill, this definitely fits the bill.

We found nearby street parking and we were able to get a spot on a comfy couch that was near a power strip. There isn't a ton of seating so I imagine it can get busy throughout the day. The building is historic and also houses a coworking space which has a lot of really great amenities. The vibe inside the coffee shop is cozy but modern, and I loved the decor. They also had some really great merch - the tote bags were calling my name! I ordered the cardamom fig latte and Nate got a golden milk latte. They do that thing where they just yell out the name of the drink rather than taking your name, but I loved everything else about this place. The cardamom fig latte was unique and definitely tasted of both cardamom and fig. They have bagels and some pastries. I really liked the varied seating (comfy couches/chairs, tables, and bar seating) and plentiful outlets for getting work done. The wifi was fast and consistent. If I lived in the area this would be my go-to coffee shop. It's not the biggest space but it's definitely worth a visit!
