She said that the client she had just left refused to pay and then gave an undeniably racist comment about the fact that the person's race had something to do with the fact that they did not pay. She literally repeated the claim after I asked for clarification out of utter shock. As someone with an interracial family, and as a decent human being, I was appalled by the comment. I honestly wanted to kick them out of my house right then and there, but she didn't even understand my outrage because of the language barrier, and her coworker had already started cleaning. But I also wanted them gone as soon as possible. It was so unfair that I was put in this position of having someone making these comments in my own home. It's a good thing my interracial family members were not there at the time, particularly the kids. Imagine your children hearing racist comments like that IN THEIR OWN HOME. I respect the heck out of people who do hard work like this, and I normally tip generously to show that appreciation, but I cannot abide racism from anyone, especially not in my home. I booked the cleaning and finally got my cleaning done today and it looks amazing. 3 ladies came right on time and they were so nice and sweet! They all came into my house with masks on and shoe slips. I also really appreciated them asking me to check the house before they left so they know that my expectations were met and they definitely were! She…read morereally went above and beyond what I had originally booked her for, changed her schedule and she agreed, for a very reasonable rate, to help me that day by not only cleaning around where I was packing, but also helped empty shelves and box things up as she cleaned. She really was a lifesaver. She was able to come at very short notice. I was running behind in packing, as I was all by myself, had very few connections and no family to help, and I was trying to finish packing up a 2000+ sq. foot townhouse (3 beds, 4 baths!) for a semi long-distance move and the moving truck was on its way. I was very stressed and suddenly I had a very can-do assistant who was so supportive and helpful. My landlord was not completely happy with the oven range cleanup, and I think unreasonably so- the landlord wanted a like-new oven range when I don't think I received the range in perfect condition, but Cindy came back and re-did it without charging me (!) even though she also felt it was unreasonable- she said the landlord was asking for more of a restoration type service- buffing and polishing what was basically a 20 year old black-painted metal gas stovetop range with rough cast iron pot holders. I had hoped my landlord would kindly bring out the bagged up/boxed trash from the garage because I didn't want to put it out early and get an HOA citation (although that was MY mistake, I should have left it out anyways) but the landlord instead insisted that I come back and take care of it (despite knowing I had moved out of the area). Cindy was so helpful as to go by there on the following Monday and took care of it. Her prices were very fair- I was so desperate that I would probably have paid more but Cindy charged me what she felt was fair, and I appreciated that so much. I can't say enough nice things about Cindy. There are times in life when a person needs help and literally has no one to turn to, and she showed up like a god-sent angel. Thanks Cindy, I can't thank you enough. You really brightened my day and I hope your kindness comes back to you 100x.
