I have seen families basking in the sun or cooling off in the water durring the hot months and I have seen fishermen wadding in trying to catch the prized salmon durring the cold early spring. For Kayakers, there is an old ramp going down the the water. It is not a smooth transition to the water as the bottom of the ramp is missing and also the top is blocked so you will have to carry your craft down to the water. Once in the water it is a cool and beautiful journey down to the Willamette. The pull out on my last trip was the Molalla state park. Summer time is good for that as you may have to portage some areas when the water is low. I haven't floated this part in the spring yet. Maybe this year.

Great for people watching. Most people walking around like were friendly and offered a greeting. I didn't see a parking lot, but plenty of parking on street.

This is one of the most beautiful, most well-maintained city parks I have been to in a long time!…read more I've been looking at the big swatch of green that represents this park on Apple Maps for a long time and decided to finally make the drive and check it out. I'm so glad I did! What struck me first and most about this park was how clean and well maintained it is. They have a delightful sand box with water feature that, I'm sure, will keep the kids busy all day. They also have a very unique and creative rope contraption to climb on (I don't know what the cool kids call it). And there's a skate park, basketball court, baseball diamond, and tennis court to keep everyone happy. We were there on Friday night and the tennis court was filled with folks playing Pickle Ball. So cool to see so many people outside and active on a beautiful summer evening. Finally, there's a wide, well maintained walking path along the river that is delightful. It's so awesome to find a public place like this. We all need more of this!

Came out to visit my mom in Beaverton and brought my pup with me. There was so much for both of us to explore. After an hour, we went to head out, and I noticed there was a whole other section to the park we hadn't even gotten to! There is also an enclosed off-leash dog park here. We didn't go in there since my dog doesn't do well at dog parks, but it's great for others whose pups enjoy that sort of interaction. I will make this a space I come to see every time I'm out this way for a visit :)

Alway great to have a friend or family member walk with you for it gets so much easier as well as supporting one another. Summerlake is a beautiful park. Walk through the bridges as if you are walking through the forest and the trees are big and tall. Different trails to go on. What I like is checking out the different types of animals at Summerlake. Usually, you see lots of geese, ducks, squirrels, bird all around. See people fishing at the lake. There is a dog park and kid's playground. Bathrooms are well maintained and clean. This park has extensive walking trails, both paved and unpaved with lots of variety in the elevation which makes for a great workout with inclines and downhills. There are tons of trees but also lots of open space so you can experience the sun and also have plenty of shade. With benches and other built-in seating (retaining walls) throughout the park, there are so many places to take a break, enjoy the sights and sounds of nature or meditate. There is also a play area for the kids as well as picnic areas and a nice wood burning fireplace, and rest rooms nearby. There are also tennis courts and parking is plentiful. On this visit we ventured off to the left of the main trail and did some serious hiking up the hill, which we surprisingly discovered backs up to a nearby neighborhood. It felt like we were truly away in the woods even though civilization is so close by! This park is a true example of why I love Oregon so much. Nature is so accessible and part of the community, not separate or hard to get to. It's magical that you can literally cross the street from your house and be surrounded by beautiful trees and wildlife.

Tennis court. A water ramp for kayakers/SUP. And then the nature trails! The best part of the park. You can walk next to the river and enjoy all the sights and sounds. Dog-friendly too, make sure they are on leashes tho. During some periods of the year, the park and trails get flooded so you can't walk in some areas but it's still cool to see.

We went on a sunny day and it wasn't over crowded. -1 star for personal reasons: my daughter is young (19 mo) and was able to swing on the baby seat swing, however, she was not confident to try the older play structure. The structure seems more appropriate for 2.5 and older. It has a pretty cool rock climber for older kids. My experience makes me wonder if there are parks in Portland that are more inclusive for all children and their abilities? I hope that Portland Parks and Recreation would be willing to rethink how they can be more inclusive when designing a park. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about building a park, but If I did I would want everyone to feel included.

Plus walking paths through several acres of rolling hills with wonderful views immersed in nature. The splash pads are open again (until 7pm) and the kids were certainly joying them. The play structures are both stunning and interactive, even a look-out tower with a telescope that views a constellation ceiling. Very cool. Slides, step rocks, climbing structures, picnic tables in the open and shade, lots of benches, even water bowls for dogs - clearly a lot of thought went into the design and build of Spring Garden Park. It's close to Multnomah Village which is how I discovered it after visiting the food truck area and wanting someplace serene to enjoy my meal. Park right on SW Spring, just be mindful of not blocking the neighbors driveways as it's in a residential area. Close to SW Barbur.

There's no sewer odor, it's not that kind of a water plant, I think. Looking at the signage I…read moregather it takes water in from the river and treats it to make safe drinking water, so it's not recycling sewage. If you just came here and didn't know it was a water plant you wouldn't notice anything odd. It is kind of small, just the building and a field, but there is a nice man-made stream with waterfalls on it that the ducks like to sit in. The only bad bit is you can't see the water clarifiers and basins from the park itself, they are behind locked gates and high concrete walls. This makes sense that they are not accessible to the public because you don't want strangers tampering with the water, but it would still be cool if there was a viewing platform from a distance. As it is now you can only see them by looking at Google satellite maps. But you can look in through large windows in the building and see the giant pipes they're using, so that's a pretty good compromise.

I'm a water girl in a water family so this is our kind of park. A sportsman's park with beautiful views of the Willamette River and a boat ramp to launch your craft. There is a medium sized grassy area with a few trees and a covered shelter with a view of the Willamette Falls in the distance. Nice bathroom facilities and covered parking under the Abernethy Bridge. Not many other amenities (no play structure). This small park is just south of Clackamette Park, which gets a lot more use. This park is a little more hidden and is only marred by traffic noise from I-205. Due to its size, better for family picnics and small gatherings. I initially discovered it a few years ago because it is the launch site for the Willamette Jet Boat as part of the Willamette Falls Festival. Nicely maintained by Oregon City, it is a great use of the space.

Except for the noise of the cars overhead, this is an ideal spot to eat lunch and read. There is a covered area where you can also get in out of the elements or there are benches to sit with a view of the river. And after lunch there are always clean restrooms to go wash up. But best of all is the walk way down to the floating dock on the river. I've occasionally even taken my lawn chair and lunch down and sat on the pier to get an up close and personal view of passing boaters and anglers.
