I have lived in Moncks Corner for eight years and never knew this area was behind the Walmart keynote. Although the street sign is wrong, go behind Walmart to get to this lovely establishment. The boat dock was very similar to Gilligans. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Upon opening the door, it's a comfortable and relaxing place to have a delicious, reasonably priced meal. The young host was friendly and professional and greeted everyone. I walked in, including a couple who arrived moments after me. I would recommend this place again. The next time, I will stay, eat, and enjoy the scenery instead of ordering takeout.

I came it to try Moncks Corner's newest bbq kid in town recently for dinner. I have to admit I've never been to the tucked away location along the water that's back there behind the Walmart and was pleasantly surprised to find Swig & Swine there. It was a Tuesday around 7pm when we walked in for dinner. There were only a few other tables full so we had no issue being sat despite having no reservation. Service was super fast (like insanely fast). From the time we ordered our server had our dishes out within MINUTES of ordering. We started with the pimento cheese and pork rinds for our appetizer. For the first time in my life I understood why they are so often called Crackalins because those things were so fresh when they came to the table you could audibly hear them cracking and popping from the hot grease. They were FRESH. And so, so good. The pimento was delicious and the perfect accompaniment. Also - make sure you dont sleep on their pickles. These are also delicious and we asked for a side for the table. Service and ambiance (and crackalins ) gets 5 stars all the way from me. The pulled pork is what gives Swig & Swine the 3 star rating from me. I'll have to admit to being a Music Man's BBQ longtime loyalist but always like to try a new bbq spot. This is why I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of hash and rice, which again, came out within minutes of me ordering it. The sandwich came with a heaping helping of meat between the buns but it was completely dry and unsauced. Swig & Swine has about 7 or so different bbq sauces for you to enjoy and sauce their meats with yourself based on which flavor you prefer. I sauced the sandwich with their vinegar sauce but because the meat wasnt cooked in a sauce, the flavor really couldn't penetrate the dry, Bland meat. I ended up leaving most of the sandwich uneaten and taking it home to my father who will eat any type of leftover out of principal regardless of whether it tastes good or not. The hash was decent but not the best you'll find in the lowcountry and I ended up doctoring it up a bit at the table. While the pulled pork was a big miss for me - I'm definitely open to returning and trying other options on the menu. The wings at a nearby table looked super tasty! But if you're looking for the standout hallmarks of traditional South Carolina style bbq (pulled pork and hash), look elsewhere in the lowcountry.

Y'all. This place did not disappoint. First, it's honestly in a beautiful location, right on the river. The inside is big and has a laid back feel. Our server was friendly and even gave us some sweet tea to go even though we hadn't ordered it since it was the end of the night. We really appreciated that. Food was awesome! Pork rinds and pimento cheese dip were delicious. We did a brisket plate and a rib plate. The ribs fell right off the bone and the brisket had a great flavor. I think this place definitely has been brisket than home team. We got brisket and beans, corn pudding, Cole slaw, and Mac and cheese for sides. They were amazing but the corn pudding was my favorite. My boyfriend loved the Mac and cheese the most. Cole slaw was decent. We left with so many leftovers and will be back!!

Won't be back.... called twice a week apart to make sure they had WHOLE catfish on Friday . Both times i was told yes. Ordered and what came to the plate was burnt filet of catfish . NOT WHOLE. Manager , Cris , came to the table routinely and asked how is the meal. When i told him about the catfish ; his only answer was "GIRLS ANSWERING PHONE" and could not get away from the table fast enough. I'm sorry your the manager and you don't have staff meetings to inform daily specials etc. Poor excuse for a manager..not even an apology. The wife had pork belly ; overcooked and dry while the brisket was just ok . Sorry.. your not the only restaurant; i can choose much better .

Just had their Pastrami and it too was out of this world! I Jason had a glass of their blonde ale that was fantastic. Talked to the manager and he tries all their beers and says he would not have one that wasn't worth the money. I say that since most all their beers are 7-8 dollars. All I canebayflyer@gmail.com say is this place rocks!

Have eaten here a few times. My wife and I love the atmosphere and the food. Last time, our server, Aliya, and the manager, Chris, were hospitable and made us feel at home. Highly recommend the pork puppies as an appetizer with the spicy dark sauce. Gotta get the pulled pork and the ultimate nasty speciawas a delicious pastrami sandwich.

Oh my gawd!!! This Californian loves her some southern bbq and this was by far the best I've had!! Katie our server was a doll!! Go say howdy from me!! Everything is in house made!! The brisket was to die for - also slathered that with some jalepeno bbq sauce - chefs kiss!! It's a fun atmosphere with a dockside view! Can't wait to go back!

    Corn pudding. A must try.

Amazing!!! we got there around noon. They were pretty busy, but the hostess seated us relatively quickly. Our waitress Nicole was great! The real headliner was the food! My wife and I split the brisket grilled cheese, which was crazy good. We also shared some smoked wings, which were awesome and the pulled pork puppies. Everything was delicious. And I know barbecue I have been eating it my entire life, but this place was Spot on. Excellent work! We will definitely be back to this hidden gem.

The food and service was amazing. I will come here again when in town. Sarah was the best server that I have had in a very long time. I cannot recommend this place enough. The boats outside and atmosphere is amazing.

We have eaten at this Swig and Swine 3 times now and is my absolute favorite place. Richelle has waited on us 2 of the 3 times. She made our dining experience fun. I work for a restaurant owner in Georgetown, SC. If she lived closer I would be trying to steal her. Thank you Richelle!!!

The service was on point and the bartender was killing it at the bar - multitasking making 3 drinks all at once. It was super impressive and I took a few videos of him. I'm giving 4 stars because the first cocktail I ordered was SO SWEET that I couldn't get it down. I tried to drink it but had to send it back. We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. My black manhattan was phenomenal and my husband had a mocktail moscow mule that was awesome. Overall, I'd come back again - just be mindful of the ingredients in the drink and modifying as needed for sweetness. Make a reservation if you can!

I've been 5 times now. 3 times for dinner and twice for a cocktail and snack. Every time, the presentation of my drinks and food have been immaculate. Then I look up, and I'm seated beneath a beautiful tree with warm lights hanging above me. The fire that just cooked my food is roaring across the way. The wind is blowing and the temperature outside is perfect. I hear laughs and see smiles, not just from guests but the staff to each other and when checking in. Then, AND THEN, I get the Fire roasted olives. I want to use profanity so badly, but I also want everyone to see this and take this seriously. The garlic knuckles literally turn into a spread on the bread, then place an olive (with the pit) on top, then a light squeeze of the lemon. Next thing you know, you're saying "damn" out loud after a bite. Get the curry braised collards, do the above and dip your bread in, then you'll say "fuck." Sorry for the profanity, just go, enjoy yourself and really take in the food and environment, then you'll get it.

Those of you who aren't familiar with the band I suggest you give a listen to their album Midnight Marauders. The very next song played was equal in its mellow vibe, and thats exactly the atmosphere that Lost Isle has created. In fact, the team there mentioned that the playlist was carefully curated to create such a vibe. Upon entering the parking lot, a dirt and gravel parking lot, it doesn't look like much. Another one of the empty or almost empty buildings along Maybank highway. There is a handwritten sign that informs the guest to come around back from the left-hand side as the right hand side is an employee entrance. Once you get to the side of the building you start to have a slight idea of what's going on. A white wooden pergola-like structure with benches to wait for a space to open up, tall green plants line the walkway of bright white rocks. That quickly opens up to a large area full of tables and two bars. One is the drink bar, where they have a full selection of beer wine and spirits, as well as other non potent potables. 12 or so flat metal stools line the customer side of the bar. The other bar has less stools, maybe 5 or 6 but behind the bar is a wonderfully large outdoor grill that is used to grill their succulent fare. The remainder of the late space is filled with lots of tables most four tops with a few 2 tops scattered about. They are resting in several inches of white pea size gravel. An interesting fight fact is that the chairs have tennis balls on the bottom of the legs and it keeps the chairs from sinking too deep into the gravel. A small thing to be sure but a big thing when it comes to comfort! Whilst sitting at a table canopied by tall leafy trees, and kissed by the whisper of a breeze coming from one (or two) of the many strategically placed fans, you feel like you are in a quiet Caribbean island. It is a chill, relaxed vibe. While the atmosphere is smooth and mellow, the flavors coming off that grill are a bold contrast. But before we delve into the succulent delights let me first talk about the size of the menu, 4-6 appetizers (small plates), 4-6 entrees (Mains) and 4-5 shareable sides. No need to clutter up a menu nor one's thoughts perusing a phone book size menu. Small menus are the way to go; do a few things and do them well I say. Lost Isle does them well. The table ordered a few small plates of fire roasted olives with grilled bread and wood fired clams. Marinated black and green olives grilled had a great smoky, briny taste. Served with a few pieces of grilled bread and some confit garlic. Smearing the bread with some of that creamy garlic clove invoked the memories of a smoky garlic bread; a perfect complement to the olives! The wood fired clams were cooked with a chili-chorizo butter, garlic, and smoked bread crumbs. This was an explosion of flavor on the palate brightened by the juice of lemon, and was in a word, delightful. We then shared a Main of a grilled ribeye steak. Nothing on the earth was made to be cooked on open flame then a ribeye steak! Served to us at a perfect temperature (medium rare as there is no other acceptable temp) and a beautiful dark charred crust, it was a spectacle to behold. Rounding out the dish was a generous amount of Chimichurri and more of that beautiful confit garlic. One thing some people are in sorely in need of learning is that slicing a piece from a large hunk of beef and subsequently easting that slice with a sprinkle of salt seriously enhances the experience. This is why I was delighted by a tiny ramekin of sea salt. The steak was delicious. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the beverage program at the previously mentioned bar. A small but serviceable wine list is available for consumption. Average print on the bottle about $44 and no bottle more than $72. Certainly a bit under some of the more extravagant list on the other Charleston area restaurants. A great variety of cocktails fill the house cocktail lists one particularly caught the eye of the table, the Sheeney Neeney. They were also able to make classic cocktails as the vodka sodas also being consumed at the table. A few mostly local beers round out the cocktail menu. A few things that you will also need to know is that there is no real table service, you approach the bar and order your beverages, your card is entered into the system and then you tab is started. You then can order your food at other bar, given the moniker of The MC. Then you return to the table. As the dishes are completed someone will bring it to the table. We were delightfully surprised at the experience and not a negative word was uttered regarding any aspect of the meal or the experience. I recommend it for anyone looking for a few hours of repose and repast. Take it upon yourself to stop by, where one can be only minutes away from home and thousands of miles away at the same time.

Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I ordered the Fireside Chat (served warm), made with Four Roses Bourbon, Croft Tawny Port, apple cider, orange juice, grenadine, turbinado sugar, allspice, and clove ($15). I really enjoyed the flavor profile--warm, well-balanced, and perfect for the season. That said, I was a little disappointed that my second drink wasn't garnished nearly as nicely as the first, especially given the price. Flavor-wise, though, both were very good. My husband started with the Gingersnap, which includes Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch whisky, Disaronno almond liqueur, butterscotch liqueur, spiced ginger syrup, heavy cream, Angostura bitters, cookie rim, and nutmeg ($16). He enjoyed it but felt it was definitely a one-drink cocktail due to how sweet, creamy, and heavy it was. He also ordered the Smoked Maple-Bacon Old Fashioned with bacon fat-washed bourbon, spiced maple syrup, tobacco bitters, and a salted brown sugar rim ($16). This one was a miss for him--too sweet, with the maple and smoke overpowering the drink, and not much bacon flavor coming through. That said, the presentation was excellent; watching the smoke being lit was a highlight, and I even grabbed a video of it. Our total came to about $71 before tip, and we didn't order any food, so it's definitely on the pricier side. Still, for the ambiance, creative cocktails, and overall experience, I think it's worth it--especially for a relaxed night out with a more elevated feel.
