This place was definitely popular the night I went. There was a good amount of people in the small space. I liked the look of the store and the service was great. However, I personally don't understand the hype around the place. The ice cream was very expensive (we spent over $30 for two medium ice cream cups). I first saw this place on Instagram with someone advertising the Dubai ice cream. I'd had Afters Ice Cream's version and wanted to try Swirls' version. I saw people inside were eating it and we're basically finished with it so my hopes were high. It was just not good though. I feel bad that I can't say anything good about the ice cream: the Kataifi was sharp/pokey (I felt like I needed to be very mindful of that fact while I was eating and had to concentrate) and the chocolate ice cream base just didn't taste good. I'm still unsure how I felt about the pastachio cream they put on it. Either way, as a whole it wasn't good. I wondered if I just didn't like mine so I tried my partner's. He got the Cherry Bomb. But when I tried the vanilla base ice cream I also didn't like it. I wonder if people were just eating it because they paid so much money for it? Usually I do the same but I just couldn't and was so disappointed. We ended up throwing away the whole cups, $30+ in the trash. Took my craving for sweets with it, so we just went home and went to bed. I will say: my partner said he liked his (the Cherry bomb flavor), but that a medium was too much so he basically threw away a full cup. The ice cream looked nice and was presented well, you do get a lot of ice cream (a medium is really way too much in my opinion but the Dubai one only comes in medium), the service was great (it came out quickly considering how many people they were servicing and they took our order quickly)...wish I actually liked the ice cream as I'd been waiting over a month to make my way out to Upland to try it. read more

This was my first time trying Dubai chocolate ice cream and the pistachio cream was so rich in flavor. I love how generous they were with the ice cream and all the toppings. I had to try the Dubai chocolate covered strawberries and they let me know the strawberries were from a local farm. Doesn't get any better than that. I wish I could order the pistachio cream to go because it was the perfect compliment to both items. I also got the Mexicali and it was the perfect summer treat. I want to emphasize that this is soft serve GELATO so it doesn't melt as quickly as soft serve ice cream. It's probably why its texture just tastes more luxe than regular soft serve. Yes, it's pricey - but that's why it's a treat. And it is absolutely worth the $ and the calories! Service is consistently great and friendly. It's not a quiet place for study, but it is nice if you want to come here for dessert with friends or family. I still believe they should lean into their soft serve and invest in a few high quality toppings (ie fresh seasonal fruit) and it's still a no for a soft serve banana split for me (gelato or not). We wanted to try a different tea place and found this on Yelp with high ratings. There's plenty of parking in the plaza and a ramp for those who are unable to use the stairs. It's very small inside with only a few tables, but they did have a couple tables outside also. The inside did look nice and clean. The staff inquired if it was our first time here and we said yes. She explained the menu they had. I thought that was very nice of her to explain and for being attentive too. She even told me if I entered in my phone number for the rewards I would get my free topping. I thought that was really nice of her to help us earn a free topping. We decided to try the medium green tea with pineapple and watermelon. Sadly, I could hardly taste the flavor since the tea was very overpowering. We also got a large vanilla shake with whipped cream which was okay, but it would be just cheaper and taste better from getting at In-n-Out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall I'd say I don't think I'd be coming back since it was just my cup of tea. For flavored tea, I'd just go to Tpumps that's down the street and for a shake at any fast food place would do about the same. read more

After a long day of adventures, my niece and I ended up at Swirls Soft Serve to end our night on a sweet note. In addition to the many flavors of soft serves and endless toppings, they also have milk shakes, floats fruit teas and milk teas. We both had our heart set on the soft serve. My niece went with the mini Highlander, one of their recommended specialty flavors that comes with the pineapple soft serve base with mochi and coconut shavings. I had a mini Matcha and Strawberry swirled with condense milk and cheesecake bites. I probably made it too sweet with the condense milk, but that's my fault. They were really generous with the cheesecake bites which I thoroughly enjoyed. Just for context, my niece is in college... but if I didn't mention that you might imagine an elementary age kid cause she was SO AMUSED by their color changing spoons. These spoons would change colors in the cold when you dipped the spoon into the ice cream. Great for kids. Service was also funny and amusing. We had a good chat with staff and the owner.
