:droooooooooooool: I'm a Swiss Chalet fan girl, I admit (although I love, LOVE St. Hubert's chicken more). Every time I come back to Canada, I HAVE to visit a Swiss Chalet at least once per trip. This place is AWESOME. The only comparable restaurant I can think of is perhaps Boston Market, here in the States. Other than that, Swiss Chalet is the near epitome of epic rotisserie chicken, as far as I'm concerned. I always order their quarter chicken meal, with a side salad and fries. Yes, not very healthy, but I don't come here often (like, maybe, once every 4 years). So.... yeah. Arrived at 430pm on a Thursday, order was taken straight away. Note there were only my husband and I and two other people in the entire restaurant!! 30 mins go by no food. Asked the hostess what's taking so long and to speak to a manger. No manager comes, we stood and were about to leave and a diff server brings food. My husband asks why it took so long the girl said oh there's only one cook and the delivery orders were plenty. I asked her if I could ask a question and she looked at me annoyed. She left and STILL NO MANAGER. I took a look at the roast beef dinner I ordered and saw nothing but fat...we walked out. Will never attend here again. My goodness, this was my first time to meet with such unpleasant issue with Swiss Chalet, I ordered hot chicken wings, these wings were not fresh at all, they were covered extra hot sauce at that time, but the chicken wing meat were not fresh , I think they wanted to use more sauce to cover wings no fresh meat smell. Restaurant was super clean, renovated within the past 5 years I believe. Food was fresh and presentable. Chicken was very juicy. It had no taste, but that is because our Canadian chicken is bleached. I have always hated the Swiss Chalet dipping sauce. Please change the recipe. It tastes terrible, and it has always tasted terrible. Change the recipe please. Waitress was polite. read more

Disappointed..... was expecting a nice white crusty bun instead, half of a burger bun cut in half. It ruined the mood for the meal. The crusty bun is an integral part of the meal. It is the springboard to the enjoyment of the rest of the meal. Something about this Swiss Chalet turns me off. The first time I ordered delivery from here online, it took an hour and a half to arrive and the food was cold. The second time, I dined in and the food just wasn't as good as it usually is at other locations, the chalet sauce was exetremely watery and the chicken was too dry. My friends had burgers the second time and went home a bit sick. Don't think I'll be ordering food from here any time soon. read more

Absolutely terrible place to work. They hire young workers and treat them very poorly. Do not let your student work here. They never even made sure my daughter did health and safety training. NONE and then she worked with hot food and even on the fryer. They also regularly changed their schedules the day of or day before a shift and cancelled shifts all together with no notice. I can not support a business that treats people this way. Either location or the numerous other establishments this family owns. read more

The food is okay (aside from the fries ALWAYS being soggy) but everytime I order they forget something. Maybe that's on me for not checking until I get home but they shouldn't be forgetting things that I've paid for everytime I order. I most likely won't be ordering from here anymore. ( which is unfortunate because it's close to my house. ) I don't enjoy paying for things that I don't receive. read more

Do NOT order from the this location. twice they have forgotten some of the food. they said they would put a twenty dollar credit for next time and did not. nothing more pathetic than having to explain the crappy service many times to customer service and then telling me the restaurant denies it and they don't care. read more

With a full half hour wait for our orders to be taken then an hour later being served. Having our server being inappropriately hugged from behind by a waitress, and the state of the washroom is enough to turn anyone's nose away. read more

Maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe I'm biased but this is my go-to place in Guelph. Food is consistent in terms of quality and I've been a customer at this location for 20 years. Can't speak to the delivery quality but the in-house eating is pretty solid. read more

Omigosh...and to think I only was privy to KFC! WhenI first saw the signs I immediately thought if a ski/snow boot sport store but upon closer inspection it's an all chicken grub fest. Everything chicken on the menu and it's HEALTHY and DELICIOUS. The chicken is cooked rotisserie style. And you have an option of white meat only or mixed. I had the chicken sandwich and chicken noodle soup - perfect for February in Guelph. Lots of good options...I need to open a franchise in Cali. read more

Sadly I don't have many nice things to say about this Swiss chalet.... Fell short on my list of many I have been to. Usually I love their chicken dinners but this one tasted off, with cold potatoes and just messy presentation. Service was average - nothing special. I was disappointed after ordering Swiss Chalet last night as I waited 2 hours for my food to arrive. An hour would have been fair, 2 hours seemed excessive, given that I was told my food was on its way an hour before it arrived. I finally worked up the courage to enter Swiss Chalet since my wife left me 7 years ago. It was our special place. My chicken cutlet which I expected to fill my every desire was mediocre at best. It was not quality meat (not at all tender), and trust me I know quality meat when I digest it. The only good thing was that my cutlet emanated the sweet scent of dear Diane (ex wife) which to some may seem repulsive, but to me it was the most beautiful aroma one could ever dream of. Worst service ever. I have ordered here 3 times. Every time I have ordered from here they have messed up my meal. The last time I ordered I spent over a $100 for four meals. My ordered was messed up again and meat was raw. I called to complain and was offered a $25 gift card for next time. The will not be a next time. We placed an online order 5:20pm for the festive special. I received an email confirmation that I would receive the order at 6:09PM. At 6:20pm I called the store that I ordered from and was told that the order would arrive in 10 - 15 minutes. At 6:45pm I called the store back and was told the order is in the car will be there any minute. At 7pm I called customer service and was connected with the Manager who then explained that the order would be free of charge and was on it's way. At 7:30pm I called customer service again and was connected with the store manager who told me the meal is in the car and would arrive within 10 minutes. It has not arrived as of 7:45. read more

Stay. Away. When I ordered online from this Swiss chalet our food took much longer than their "40 minutes or free" guarantee. When the driver arrived we mentioned how long it took and that it technically should be free, still fully intending to pay him. He proceeded to verbally harass me, making fun of me for "needing free food," and raised his voice practically tossing the bag of food at me. At that point I was ready to take it and close the door! But he kept going, going so far as to scream at me that "God is watching" making aggressive hand motions. We asked him to please leave and I made sure to put in a report with Swiss Chalet. It was extremely frightening having such a hostile person know our address and details. After multiple emails back and forth with Swiss Chalet customer service, I received a call from the manager of the Edinburgh Road location asking me questions about the altercation and ensuring me that it would be "dealt with." He even offered to send me some coupons and certificates as a "sincere apology" for his deliveryman's behaviour. I ensured him that was not necessary but he insisted so I thanked him and went on with my day. Two months later, no follow up and no coupons or certificates from the manager. Swiss Chalet, I've been ordering your food since I was a kid. If you're going to make a "40 minute or free" guarantee, make sure the entirety of your staff complies with its conditions respectfully. Keep up your end of the deal and customers will come back. So so disappointed. read more
