Swizzle is the kind of dive bar you hope to stumble into -- and never want to leave. Plenty of TVs with every game on, great prices, and a laid-back crowd that makes it easy to relax and have fun. The staff here absolutely crush it -- friendly, quick with a drink, and they make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time walking in. The place has that perfect dive-bar charm: cool lighting, fun decor, and just the right amount of energy without feeling overcrowded. Tonight they even had a food contest going on, which made the whole night a blast. Honestly, I've seen a few of those one-star reviews and can't help but think those folks must've had a bad day -- because Swizzle is exactly what a neighborhood bar should be: chill, affordable, and full of good vibes. If you're looking for a spot to watch the game, hang with friends, or just unwind after work, this is it. Swizzle is an easy five stars.

Fun hidden gem in central Phoenix, there's lots of regulars that come through and it seems like a nice community of people. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders do a great job taking orders. The vibes are chill, it's a very low key spot and now that I think about it, I'm not sure if they serve food or snacks. I feel like this is a good final spot for a night as they're open later than most bars in this area.

The young lady behind the bar was super friendly. I had my Dive Bar shirt on for the Swizzle Inn...cool, laid back local "dive bar" vibe! Loved it!

Love this spot!! Friendly staff and a good local scene. My friends from Phoenix re recommended it to me and I've gone a few times now.

Greatest dive bar in Phoenix! We love everything about it and the bartenders are all awesome. You won't find a better neighborhood bar to hangout at where everyone is always welcome. The service is great but not hand and foot. Don't be rude and be respectful to everyone around you. The ambiance is old school and don't miss the holiday lights!

    Just chilling with bestie

Ask the Community - Swizzle Inn

Based off the original Swizzle Inn in Bermuda!?? Do they make Swizzles?!?

They are not like the bar in Bermuda and do not have signature drinks

I heard a rumor they were moving - is it true!?

Yes, they are moving. I don't have details, such as whether the rent went up or the whole plaza will be replaced, but neither would be a surprise as the neighborhood is changing. I will update if I hear more.

The drink's ingredients sound a bit weird together, but TRUST ME it is so refreshing and has quickly become one of my most favorite creative, original cocktails ever! Their NY-style thin pizzas also don't miss. I've tried the pepperoni (red sauce, cheese blend, pepperoni, dried oregano) and Roycerroni (pizza sauce, cheese blend, cup & crisp pepperonis, calabrian chiles, honey, ricotta, basil). Chef's kiss! Absolutely love The Starving Artist, and it has quickly become one of my favorite places to drink in Phoenix. During weekday evenings it's pretty chill, but on weekends, it gets pretty packed and lively. Bonus points that they have all of their menus uploaded conveniently on their website, which you don't see often with cocktail lounges! https://www.starvingartistaz.com/

Ketchup and mustard is on the table. Easily the best burger in the Valley. I ate everything on my plate!!! Could not put this burger down. Fries were also really good, but you have to eat them while they're still hot. We ordered: - Wineburger with Cheddar & Fries (5+/5) All burgers are hand-pressed and made-to-order. Red onion pickle, lettuce, and tomato come with the burger. From the first bite, I fell in love with this burger. It was thick, but they still managed to keep it juicy and tender. When the server was taking my order and done-ness, I asked for medium-well. It's hard for me to eat large meals these days, but I ate this entire burger and fries. No complaints at all. Just a burger done right. Chomp chomp - Super Deluxe Wineburger with American & Fries (5/5) Double Patty with your choice of American, cheddar, Swiss or pepper jack cheese. Extra super deeeelicious! Hubs loved this 1-pound of ground beef burger. He said it's just a really good burger and he's glad that they use a cheaper bun and keep it simple. He said he knows where to go now when he's craving a really good burger, especially after work downtown. - Garlic Patty Melt with Fries (5/5) One regular patty melt with bacon, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and homemade garlic sauce. Son said this was delicious! This is a thick stacked patty melt. Take a look at the cocktail menu too. I wanna try most of these drinks when I come back sometime. Another thing I loved about this spot - the prices are very affordable. They know where to prioritize. The food is simple and good at an affordable price point. Don't expect anything fancy here. It's dark and it's loud from the digital jukebox bass. An easy spot to zone out in. Seat yourself when you come in. There are a few tables and several benches along the long bar. Some good quality liquor on display behind the bar. A pool table is in the game room behind the bar. TVs with sports playing are on the walls. I've heard some funny stories from my daughter and her boyfriend about the service being what it is and customers needing to accept it. They've been dining while witnessing a few fights. I think the important thing to remember is that you need to be patient and you will be served when you are served. If you give any guff, they reserve the right to kick you out. We didn't have this experience when we stopped in last Saturday at 12:30 PM. It seems like the noon crowd was just leaving and we got in right before the 1 PM crowd. Our server was really great. He was super attentive and we got our food pretty quickly. parking located right out front or in the general private parking lot for the strip mall of stores. We went up to the bar to order, and were asked for ID (normal of course). We all hand them over, including my friend whose wallet was stolen the week before (she brought her passport). The bartender checks our ID's and realizes our 27 year old friend's passport is expired. He tells her he can't serve her, which is totally fine. She didn't realize it was expired and apologized. Then he tells her she needs to leave the property. She is very sweet (also a bartender) and leaves without question to avoid conflict. He then refused to serve the rest of the group until she was completely off the premises, like in an uber and gone. She was out of the building and there's no bouncer but was visible in the window standing in the parking lot. I asked if that was standard practice to wait until her uber got here, and he told me I needed to leave as well for asking "too many questions." I told the group we joined up with about what happened, and I also left without incident, even apologizing because I felt terrible to even cause a semblance of a scene. Our entire group got up to leave to go to a more welcoming bar and suddenly was chased by bar staff telling them we were antagonizing and underage, trying to get a drink. Save yourself a $5 drink and get an even better one at many of the great, hospitable dive bars in the area. The staff behavior is concerning as you can see by many 1 star reviews below
