    Our service was changed to full pack once my wife broke her wrist. Charged for full pack even…read morethough my wife, brother, & sister had already packed around a third of the move. The Packers seemed to do an exceptional job & we had very little damage from what they did with the exception of an Antique German wall clock. The way it was packed caused a long chime rod to be broken off. The loaders seemed to be very careful loading boxes & furniture onto the Truck on the day of the move. I believe the majority of scratches that we found on furniture was caused by the crew that unloaded on this end. We watched from our apartment as pieces of furniture were carelessly handled moving from the truck to our third floor apartment. As an example, I watched one person take our 2 drawer file and move it by himself into our closet. The way he handled it caused the back to be completely broken free from the back frame, and several bad scratches to the top & sides. As far as scratches to furniture the chairs & dinning room table , as well as our Queen size bed frame suffered unnecessary scratches from the way they were handled by the delivery crew. In addition there were scratches & gouges caused on other pieces. The tall boy a chunk taken off, the grandfather clock was dented & scratched, the legs on the leather chair scratched up, smaller scratches on other pieces. The items were delivered to our apartment on 12/12/2025. & nothing has been done other than by me reattaching the back panel on the file cabinet. Originally there was a person assigned to assist with problems, but I was told his mother passed away so he never made it here. He did at first text me that he was at a job in near by Cedar Falls and ask if he could come over. No prior call about setting an appointment, just a text. His mother apparently died shortly after so no contact from him until just recently stating he was off work but now back & he would be open for an appointment in 2 weeks. I responded to him the days I knew I had appointments scheduled coming up. I assumed with that knowledge he would contact me with when he could come. I didn't hear anymore until Jennifer told me that the repair Co. had not been able to contact me. Between hearing Back from Jamel I had received the name & number of another repair person. I called him to set an appointment & he told me that he was given my information but that he did not work for them but had texted Guardsman to get details to see if it was a job he would be interested in. Apparently he wasn't, I didn't hear more from him. Then Jamel came back in the picture. That is the current situation, he has made no attempt to schedule an appointment! Tierney- 244-29096-5 Jennifer has tried to get Guardsman to service our account but they tell her they have a problem communicating with me to set an appointment. Overall the people we dealt with from Sycamore were very dependable. The majority of damage happened unloading in Waterloo, IA.

I'm not sure why their Yelp average is 3.3 stars on only 40 reviews, while Google reviews average 4.5 stars on 142 reviews. I can only do my own honest appraisal, and end with a strong endorsement of this moving company. We recently moved from a 3-bedroom condo in Chicago to a 3-bedroom home in northern California. After a visit to our condo by Blackhawks's estimator, Tony Marinello, we agreed on what seemed to be a fair price for the move. The pricing included packing in Chicago, and special crating by an outside company for several oil paintings. The packing took place on a Friday, and the loading of the van took place the following Monday. The van arrived in California, as promised, one week later. Each of the three crews for this move arrived at the promised time, every crew member was respectful of our possessions, and everything arrived in California in perfect condition. We have only positive things to say about the company and each of its employees. Both the loading of the van in Chicago, and the off-loading of the van in California, were supervised by Terry Cash. In each location Terry had extremely hard-working men who would ask us appropriate questions about the packing and marking of boxes, and about where to place everything at the final destination. Moving is a stressful time, even under the best of circumstances. But everyone associated with Blackhawk made the move easier than we had thought it could be, and we could not be happier with the end result. We highly recommend Blackhawk Moving.

Mayflower somehow seems to have good reviews mostly but my mistake being i didn't look up Ft. Dearborn. Moving is never easy and with me starting a new job in WY where i have to be at work almost 13 hours a day it wasn't easy at all. I planned my whole work / personal life around the delivery window of two weeks that was given me. I lived in an almost empty apartment and making do with things hoping my stuff with arrive any day. My move coordinator Debra C. did a poor at communication. I never received any updates and i was the one constantly reaching out to find where the things are at. Today i emailed D.C. and i was told that my stuff MIGHT BE loaded on a truck on the last day of my delivery window. They have no regard for their customers and do whatever they want. They do NOT care if you are without your home for almost a month as long as they collect their massive bills and are happy. As the review mentions 2.5 weeks in , i am still without my stuff. I have been told that my last day on my DELIVERY window is when the stuff MIGHT BE LOADED. If i could give 5 thumbs down to them i would. THE WORST moving experience for me. I would recommend stay away from this company and i will update my review as things progress. UPDATE : I just read another review further down where Debra C. was the coordinator and the customer was told the exact same things e.g We do not have a driver to - You are running a moving company and you do not have a driver. I run a cinema but you know what - i do not have a movie player

I recently used them to…read moremove from Chicago to Las Vegas and I initially went with them as I read many many reviews on all the companies I researched to just pay the extra money and go with Mayflower well I did and was 100% unsatisfied as 70% of my moving boxes were completely crushed, broken, damaged resulting in over $500 worth of damage. My Las Vegas location was not my final destination so my boxes were going to just be in storage for a few months but instead of an easy unload in Vegas I had to spend hours to unpack all boxes, check for damage on my items and then repack into new boxes. The lack of timely communication from the company was a huge inconvenience on their procedure along with overall satisfaction on my end of how they uhandled the final outcome of this matter. I had wasted so much energy and time going back and forth dealing with the result of their carelessness on my personal items. I could have gone with a different company that quoted $1600 to move across country and probably would have been better than the result of Mayflower as it seemed they threw my boxes across country. Unfortunately spending money for a well known name company didn't work in my favor this time.

I had a reservation for my U-Haul for this morning,…read moretwo hours before my reservation I get a phone call saying that they gave my reservation to someone else with the same last name. They called me to confirmed if I just sent someone to pick the truck up, I did not. After about a 10 minute conversation Angela told me everything was going to be OK and that i would be good to pick up my truck. Upon arriving at the location there were no instructions to handle anything. I called Brian Fleming, the manager, and he informed me that a representative would be showing up soon. Upon arrival , we explained to her that we were able fo retrieve the keys from the lick box due to the fact that two noxes were open. She instructed us that if we had the keys that we were good to go. We confirmed the truck and instructed our movers to head out. We realized that we were in the wrong truck and swiftly called the movers to turn back around- Angela watched the entire interaction and apologized for telling us wrong info. She then suggested we try another box , and we got keys from box one. Brian is on speaker phone the entire time, he then asked Angela to retrieve credit card information via phone. She was not comfortable in doing so and handed us HER phone to give the credit card info. At this time we asked him to explain why we were giving him credit card info and thats when he called us disrespectful for questioning him and cancelled our reservation. We asked for his managers info and were tild he didnt have a manager by Angela. After calling customer service and going to another location we were advised by uhaul customer service that Brian Felming lied about his position within uhaul and were givin the area field managers contact info. After leaving a review on facebook , Brian accused us of stealing the truck. He is unprofessional and incompetent and so is Angela. Thank goodness we were able to verifiy the area field managers contact info and file a formal complaint.
