The restaurant and the atmosphere gets a 10. The food is delicious and the staff give a VIP reception experience to the guests. It's like walking into a time capsule of the old Hollywood cinema era. The Sycamore Inn gets our five star Yelp review and our personal recommendation. Bon appétit

Clear cut review of the Sycamore Inn is what I'd call a textbook case of an outdated restaurant in terms of food quality and overall satisfaction from taste and ambiance. The building itself is probably 100 years old with renovations keeping it on life support. The smell and overall design is not what I'd come back for. The historical aspect is cool.. I suppose. The service was good, a standard expected from their prices. The food itself was a disappointment. The crab cakes were more like salt cakes with a dash of crab, pooled in the sauce. The prime rib in the bottom of my photo may look amazing, but alas, it was harder to cut than a well done ribeye. This was their "medium rare" option that looked more like medium Now, the plate to the left was requested at medium, but as you can see, it looks well done. The sides were passable, but I feel I can replicate the same taste through canned product with some fresh ingredients. The only good things about the meal was the service and attention. That is the only star I would give to this location.

I read great reviews about this restaurant and made reservations to dine and experience this old school steakhouse first hand. I loved the cozy and warm feeling of the wood-framed house, complete with a "porch" as you enter and a fireplace indoors. Once inside the hostess checked us in, within a few minutes, our table was ready. Our Server for the evening was Andrea, she provided excellent customer service and checked on us throughout the evening. Menu highlights: We ordered the Seabass, Ribeye Steak and Creamed Spinach to share. We had a puffed pastry with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The Seabass melts in your mouth, it was so tender and moist. The steak was medium rare. I throughly enjoyed the added blue cheese crust. Sharing a dessert was the perfect finishing touch to a delicious meal that had it all from salad, bread, surf and turf to a sweet ending. I strongly recommend making reservations a week in advance to secure your desired date and time. A private banquet is avaliable for group celebrations. Sincerely, Rosemary

My friend Marlene from Rancho Cucamonga in the Inland Empire in California recommended this old school, been around for a 150 years steakhouse with excellent martinis plus a wonderful wine list institution. It is in an old house right on the north side of Foothill Blvd or historic Rt 66 actually. Open only for dinner we got there at 7 pm and were seated in the dining area by the bar. It was dark and I just loved the beautiful and colorful lamps. Felt the old school vibe in the air. Atmosphere - 5 stars - nice and mellow. The room - really cool. The bar was happening and popping. Really fun group. We were in the dark and docile section and had to get the flashlights on our phones to check out the menu. The food - 5 stars- great Calamari. Awesome salmon ( charbroiled with really delicious sides- mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus). The other appetizer was the guac mash which was also really nice. Came with warm bread. Table next to us got really awesome looking steaks. Lobster looked yummy as well. The drinks - Marlene had a couple of Pineapple cosmos and she said they were strrrrrronggggg. The service - 5 stars plus - our waitress Eva was really great. Very attentive and talked to us for a bit not rushing us out at 9 pm. Bartender( lady) and Manager also were really cool. Dress code - I was in slacks and a collared shirt but the two gents by us were in gym attire. So casual on a Monday was ok. Parking - loads in a very big lot. It came to $80 per person plus tip so expect pricing and a tab in that range with drinks $16-18, appetizers also in that range and entrees $35-47. It was an interesting experience.

I celebrated my birthday dinner at Sycamore Inn, and I absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the tone--classic, cozy, and perfect for a special occasion. The martini menu was hands down the best I've ever seen. So many great options, and every drink we tried was fantastic. We also caught a glimpse of their happy hour menu, which looked amazing and is already giving me a reason to come back soon. Between the atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience, this place really delivered. Such a great spot for celebrations or a night out. I'll definitely be back!

My husband and I came here for one of our last date nights before our baby comes. We've been wanting to try this place because of the history and we love a steakhouse! For appetizers we did the jumbo artichoke and stuffed mushrooms, it was very filling. They also give you bread as you wish, also yummy! We both really really liked our cut of steak. They're seasoned and cooked very well. The quantity of asparagus was very generous. The Mac and cheese had a really delicious taste as well. My husband had an old fashioned and a glass of wine. He said they were both good! The service-- I was really impressed honestly. Our waters were always full, we were constantly checked on. There wasn't any rush, it was just right. I highly recommend!

We came here last year for my daughter's birthday and she enjoyed the Chilean sea bass, so we came back again this year. ...last year, I felt like it was really crowded and we came on a Saturday evening around 6pm and we sat outside and our table was slanted. And It was so rushed and not relaxing at all. We got a charcuterie board that wasn't very good. The soup wasn't very good. The pasta wasn't very good. There was no parking. It was very hectic and overall the experience was not very good, but my daughter said the Chilean Sea Bass knocked her socks off so we came back again this year. Okay so this year 2025 June 8 on a Sunday at 7pm. wayyyyy better experience- we sat inside we had these big fluffy cushy chairs that made me feel important. The linens on the tables, every staff member we dealt with was superb. My daughter's petite filet mignon was delicious. My chicken was delicious. My husband's prime rib was delicious. The bread was soft and fluffy. (We didn't even get bread last time). I don't think we had so much attention. There was lots of parking. We did come at 7 PM so I don't know if that also played a part. We also ordered as an appetizer, the calamari. Everything was delicious. Five stars all the way, we will definitely come back !!! The birthday girl had the Seabass and she was once again pleased. Highly recommend this place and Thankyou Sycamore Inn for giving my family a nice dinner to remember!

Raul our server, was amazing. It was our first time here and he made sure to make us feel like we are part of the family. Thank you Raul!

The booking manager was very polite, but the staff inside was not very organized. They kept telling us our table wasn't ready when part of our group was already seated for 15 minutes. When we asked for coffee, they didn't want to make anything other than regular/decaf sounds like out of laziness. Some waiters were nicer than others for sure. Additionally for being a steakhouse, it was odd they did not ask how we wanted our steak cooked. Great name given the trees outside and old classic style feel. Inside is dim light and was busy making it seem like a great venue. They have private rooms as well. It has a nice homey feel to it. Bread: came out very hot and was very impressive Salad: standard, enjoyable, nothing crazy Prime rib: enjoyable, supposedly their specialty, felt much better than filet mignon Filet mignon: felt slightly overcooked and the sauce wasn't my favorite Death by chocolate: flourless cake that was very dense and tasty Almond cake: overly sweet and taken out of the freezer where there were still icicles, not the best In terms of a steakhouse from the miscommunications thought service could be better. Overall would recommend coming for the prime rib and specifying how you'd want things cooked. Some food items are good some are only okay. It's decent but wouldn't be my first go to steakhouse. Ask the Community - Sycamore Inn

Do they show Monday night football in the bar?

We didn't go on a Monday night, and the night we went they were showing some sort of movie channel in the bar, but I'm sure you would be able to ask your server in the bar/lounge to change the channel on at least one of the TV's to Monday Night…

Is this kid friendly and do they have a kids menu?

No, not really a place for children.

Do they have non-dairy dishes? Or can they prepare food with no dairy?

Yes they can accommodate a dairy free options and preparation

Are they open for thanksgiving dinner?

I called & yes, they do.

Do they have happy hour? If so what time?

I believe they start at 4pm. They do have a bar area.

    Do they offer gift cards?

    Yes

Do we need reservations to seat at the Bar?

They say you don't BUT the times I've gone they'll tell you certain seats are for the regulars and it's literally half of the bar. So while you don't need reservations, you best hope you arrive on a day where the regulars aren't around.

How do I get the new discount card?

Does anyone know if they have a children's menu? Planning on going to celebrate a big occasion but have two littles coming.

They do have options for kids. Ask the host or hostess and they will give you one. About 5 or 6 items if I'm not mistaken

    Is there a corkage fee?

The restaurant has a $25 per bottle corkage fee

    Do I need reservations?

yes unless you're just going into the bar area for one of their "Prime Time" early dinner specials...If they still offer them with the state of the economy that is.

Is this restaurant doing outside dining during covid?

    Yes

What can I expect for wine tasting Thursday? Where is it set up in the restaurant? Are there Vegan options to ask for ahead of time?

You can expect a live band with 2 wine pouring stations each with a different selection of wine and varietals. The appetizers change each time but there is usually a vegan and a meat option for complimentary appetizers and you can always purchase…

Does the Inn offer a happy hour menu? Is so what day and time? Happy hour menu? Thank you folks!

Prime time wine bar, 7 days/week, 1/2 off cocktails, specialty priced apps, dinner plates starting at $10 lounge and veranda

    Is there a dress code?

No dress code but I would go semi- casual with a collard shirt for the experience. I would call and make reservations and make sure you ask to be seated in there main dining room. So you can experience the vintage ambiance.

Do they have a private dining room for company events?

Yes, they sure do! We had our 30 HS Reunion in their private dining room downstairs and it was perfect! If I'm not mistaken, it seats 80 quite comfortably.

Does the restaurant have brunch on Sunday's?

Only on special occasions, Easter, maybe mothers day?

What time does the Bar open??? I am not sure but I believe at 4:30pm, half hour before the restaurant. Am I correct or did I enjoy the happy hour to much last time I was there???…

4pm. And the specials end at 8pm
