The car wash service was really disappointing and didn't do anything. The express was $9 but I only saw water sprayed then sponged off - absolutely no soap or cleaning materials used. Afterwards there was still so much gunk and dirt on my car. read more

After returning from a week-long vacation, we needed to clean up the rental car from Turo.com. We missed the closing time of the Express wash on Madera, so started searching online for options of car washes still open past 8:00 PM on a Saturday. Sycamore Shell came up as an option. Being the closest one to us, we headed over. The drive-through machine where you stay in the car and the equipment does the work did an okay, but not stellar, job. The tires that were briefly driven through a muddy parking area needed lots of hand attention when the wash was done. There was still considerable mud visible. Also, the dryer barely did its supposed thing. That meant we had a lot of hand drying to do, which is somewhat challenging at night, with limited lighting. The station does attempt to light up the area adjacent to the car wash, but it could have been brighter or with better coverage. I see a lot of other Yelpers mentioning their smog testing services. I will keep that in mind the next time that comes up. Am not sure I would put the car wash facility at the top of my list for future visits, though. read more

This is the main gas station I go to in town and that is because of how helpful and welcoming the staff are. I recently got my smog checked here for the first time and Havi assisted me. He answered every question I had and went above and beyond to make sure all of my concerns were addressed. Since then, Havi has answered any and all questions I have about engine issues whenever I stop in. Havi is great and I will definitely have my smog taken care here next time around. read more

I needed to get a smog test, and of course, I waited until the last day. Checked Yelp and found Sycamore Shell did smog tests. The whole process could not be easier. Luis was professional, courteous, and friendly. I don't know if it is due to the pandemic or the time of day, but it was super quick. I was in and out and paid in 15 minutes. They transmitted all the information to the DMV electronically. I highly recommend this location. I will be back when I need another smog test. read more

Time and time again I have such a fantastic experience here! The gas prices are always fair, I find myself here weekly filling up and grabbing some snacks from inside. I do have to mention their snack and drink variety is significantly better than the other gas stations in the area. Havi is always so welcoming and makes me feel right at home when I come in to smog my car. He was efficient, thorough, and extremely friendly. The price point here is great, some of the lowest smog prices in Simi valley. Great prices matched with a compassionate staff makes for an ideal combination! Something as simple as a deluxe car wash generates this review. I purchased a deluxe car wash at the pump. I parked in the car wash tunnel where the wash began. I noticed that there were no soap bubbles or a colored soap if any kind. I addressed this with the store clerk who said for the lower priced washes a clear soap is used, what did you say. Apparently, the most expensive wash has colored soap. I don't believe this line of BS from the store clerk. Instead of requesting my money back I'm writing to warn you to be aware that this Shell Sycamore uses water only for the Deluxe wash and charges $7.00 for water. read more

DMV services here!!!! Yes!!!! I had an out of state vehicle transfer that was becoming a headache. Triple-A couldn't (wouldn't) do it, and it was looking like a half day off of work at the DreadedMoronsVisit to get my car handled. My blood pressure was already rising when I went to the DMV website and it said something like "additional locations",and listed this Shell gas station for all things DMV. Gas station?What?... So I called and checked. Sure enough, they said they could handle a title transfer. So today I went there, met Avi, who was totally cool, (and a car guy), knowledgeable, and efficient. In other words the complete opposite of the union schmoess at DumbassMV. I had PLATES, STICKERS, REGISTRATION IN LESS THEN 45 .... MINUTES. Title gets sent later. If you want to keep your sanity, GO HERE. Avi is great, and the service outstanding. You cannot go wrong. No, it's not free. Why should it be? Plan on an extra $70,but No lines, no second trips, no wasted time off. I can't recommend this business highly enough. read more

Luis is the best! Havi and him took care of my dads smog and registration so I went to him. He pre-checked my car and did not charge me when he said it would fail. I brought it back 5 times without charge and he was so cool about it. He referred me to a great mechanic and offered suggestions. He also helped my girlfriend with her registration and smog as well, and finally on my 6th try my car was ready and he helped me out. Last week I brought my Porsche for a smog check. Luis and team were courteous and professional and got it done quickly. The facility is clean and there's a convenience store attached with snacks and restrooms. They also honored the coupon from their web site even though I had forgotten to bring the printout with me. Great location in center of town. And being asked for directions by Johnny Knoxville who stops to talk to you while you're pumping gas. Downside...I had no time to use my car wash code until later that week. Go to the car wash and code is invalid. Go inside to ask why and attendant said I already used it. Really? Great place to get smog test, the dude is super friendly and honest. My car actually failed and he gave me insight on what could be wrong, which helped me when I went to my mechanic. It took a while for me to get around to it, it was part 60 days but he still gave me a discount on the retest. He had no obligation to do so, but it was much appreciated. i can only speak to the quality of salesmanship / customer service when i went in for a smog check. first off, i could barely understand the attendant (very broken english). but whatever, i guess thats a given nowadays. i asked how much, and he told me $50 ($10 for certificate). i said i'll think about it as i went to pump my gas. he ran out after me and said $45. after a car wash... and calling a place to price check, who does it for $38 out the door... i told the attendant i would do it for "$40 total... $30 plus the $10 for the certificate". he agreed, "$40 total". cool. lets get it done. then my spidey senses kicked in, and i thought i better ask the actually smog check guy just to make sure. sure enough, he said "no its $45". we both went back in to ask the attendant who lied through his teeth and said "i told him $45". i said with a smile... "ok, i'll just go to this other place then". the smog check guy then becomes *real* professional (*sarcasm*), and says "no way buddy" as he basically throws my keys back at me. listen kid, i ain't your buddy, and don't get pissy with me if i don't like your prices. i should never have wasted my time with your shady attendant in the first place. now this place no longer gets my business for gas or car washes either. way to go customer service!
