I decided to give this grooming salon a chance because I live in the area. I brought my baby Yorkie in for a simple summer cut, but the experience was extremely disappointing. The haircut was uneven, and when I picked him up, i was scratched by his long nails because they hadn't even been trimmed. I took him back inside and asked them to finish the nail trim. When the groomer returned him to me, his nail was bleeding. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, I was told, "Oh, that's normal. Sometimes they bleed." While minor bleeding can occasionally happen if a nail is cut too short, it should not be dismissed so casually. My dog was injured because his nail was cut too deeply, and the lack of concern or accountability was unacceptable. I trusted this business with my pet, and they failed to provide even basic grooming services with appropriate care. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this grooming salon. read more

If I could give this place a -5 star review I would! I am sooooo upset and disappointed with my dogs hair cut. If you want your dog traumatized and physically hurt then come here! To start off they left bald spot patches on his back and stomach. They didn't even trim his nails when they said "they did". They burned his ear and trimmed it unevenly. Honestly a 5 year old would've done a better job cutting my dogs hair! The people that did this to my dog need to be fired ASAP! But like I said if you want to pay for your fur babies to suffer then I would definitely come here! read more

I'm not the person to go out my way and down talk on a business that's trying to thrive but what i experienced with my dog today felt like it was only appropriate to say to any future customers to note. Taking my dog felt weird and the atmosphere didn't feel right. I understand it's a dog groomer and there would probably be hair but holy was there just pee and hair everywhere on the floor. When receiving my dog I noted that he was patchy and distressed from who knows what. He acted super different and started to throw bites when he never threw a bite in he's 1 year of living. I felt like they mistreated him and just didn't care about my dog in general. I took my dog to another groomer in lakeview and they said he was a sweetheart and affectionately nibbled their arm. Honestly a horrible experience with the Sylmar grooming store. Take this information as you want. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. I took my cat for service today at this establishment in Sylmar. I was very optimistic because someone I know who takes their cats here recommended me But may I just say that I am extremely disappointed with the results. my cats hair is extremely uneven, chopped. And his claws are extremely short up to his skin. Is this a common issue you guys have with cats because I was not expecting this. The worst part is that I paid full price and didn't noticed he looked like that once I got him out of the carrier. His ears were still dirty claws and everything else too. He's probably traumatized. I have a cat who has been getting groomed since she was a kitten and going to this grooming spot before it got bought by these new owners for about five years. they took a giant chunk of skin off of my cat. They completely cut it off the worst part is that they didn't disclose what they had done that same day. the following day when I went to go show them with pictures what they had done, they tried to deny it and said that maybe she had gotten hurt at home. Just plain awful. I made the mistake of stopping in because all the errands I had to do were in the general area. And if I could sue them, I would. I took my dog (that I've only had for about a month now), and specifically asked for only a bath, since he had already been to another place 2 weeks ago and did not need any sort of trimming at all. The next thing I know, he had his nails trimmed super short. But worse than that, someone I'm guessing it was the gal who looks 16 and it's her first job, not friendly at all, bad customer service), shaved the fur on one side of his body and took way too much off. The poor thing can't stop scratching, so I'm sure it's irritated. I wish they would do that to themselves so they'd know how uncomfortable, and possibly painful it is. I'll steer way clear of this place, especially since it was more expensive than what I've been paying so far. read more

Do not bring your dog here! It is twice now that they do a horrible job on my dog! I dropped off my dog and mentioned to them TWICE not to shave the dog because the first time I took him in they shaved him completely, I was extremely clear in my directions on how I wanted my dog, he was not matted , he has soft straight hair as you can see in the photo. Typically when you take a dog to a groomer they take about 3-4 hours which is reasonable, it wasn't even an hour when they told me my dog was ready which was super fast! I pick him up and see he is shaved completely and I'm in shock I ask them AGAIN why they shaved him and they can't even give me an answer. I'm so frustrated and I'm looking at my dog he still looks dirty , they didn't even clean his ears , my dog also scratches his body when he is dirty and was scratching when I pick him up I honestly don't even think they took him a bath!!! Whoever the owner is needs to make this right ! They did not even offer me a discount and I wanted my money back! I will never be back here and will also be posting this on my socials to keep individuals from coming to this place that is poorly ran. read more

If I could put zero I would. We took our dog on Friday to be groomed, and when my daughter pick him up, she said he was very uncomfortable and scared. She said he had been groomed horribly and was patchy. When I called the next morning because they were closed when I was able to see him they stated that the owner groomed him and that he was had to cut and instead of calling to let us know they groomed him down to almost the skin and has razor burns from the machine. Not only did he come home with a horrible cut and came home with not allowing us to touch him and scared of noise that had him hiding under the table. He is a very happy and loving dog all the time. I will never be returning to the place and will be going to the better business bureau and filling a report. read more

EVERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and POOR ANIMAL HANDLING. My mom took our cat in yesterday and he came home with a very hurt leg. He's limping and walking very slowly. We even informed the women that he was elderly and fragile before we took him in. When he came home he struggled to walk so we called and the woman blamed my cat for it saying he was "moody and they should have just shaved him." She never apologized and did not tell us he was injured when we picked him up. We understand grooming a cat is difficult but these are supposed to be professionals. This did take place a while back but it just goes to show that this place has been terrible for years. I dropped my moms dog off on Jul 17 2021, on a Saturday. It was hours before closing and the place was packed but the lady's working there insisted that they would have her ready by 4. Closing time rolls around and they haven't called us back, my mom started getting worried, I take blame because I told her not to worry they were probably just finishing up and they'd call us. When we drove back they had already left and my dog was left inside. We waited there for over an hour trying to figure out who we could call, if anyone was coming back or the name of the owner. We found out the name and contacted her on Facebook. She drove down and gave us back our dog. My moms dog had been there for HOURS with no food or water. They planned on leaving her there over the weekend, the close on Saturday and open on Tuesday. We left her there from 1 in the afternoon and didn't get her back until almost 10. She was covered in cuts and was bleeding. We haven't been there since. read more

I had been going to Sylmar Grooming for about 8 years. Unfortunately, I will never go back again. The last time my dogs were groomed there (both small breeds) they came home not acting the same; both were very skittish and not acting like themselves; almost as though they had been hit. It took them a good month to get back to normal. Never again will I be their costumer. read more
