Mahshid has been doing my hair for about 5 years now. I've gotten haircuts, keratin treatments, highlights, balayage, and dyed my hair at her salon. She has nice clean space. She does a great job communicating with her clients and takes the time to make sure she understands the look you're going for. Symmetry is made up of lots of individually-owned cosmologists-ish (most hair, but other stuff as well, like cryotherapy and waxing). I've been seeing Athanasia for over a decade and I'm so glad she moved here; I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone and you should let either. She literally touches your hair and just knows, that is Hair God status. Once in awhile, I'll get loopy and ask for something crazy (Like cutting off all my hair or an insane color that's just too time-consuming for me personally to manage and while she's always happy to oblige, she does warn me first (Like: "are you sure you want to chop it all off? I can, but you might regret it") The place is modern, spacious, and clean. They've always got coffee, water and soda in the waiting room. Def worth checking her out! read more

I've been going here for years and have always enjoyed my experiences, but my last visit stood out so much that I had to write a review. I made an appointment with Maggie and although it was my first time seeing her, it felt like I had been going to her for years. She was so patient and helpful and put a lot of thought into what she thought would be best for me and my hair. She gave me soooo many tips and suggestions that I had never thought of trying. My hair has changed a lot after having kids so I have felt overwhelmed and a little lost as to what to do with it, but Maggie managed to give me the exact look I wanted and tips on how to manage it. Now, we all know it feels great to walk out of a salon with a fresh cut that looks amazing, but I am always a little hesitant to get too excited because I find myself thinking "What is this going to look like when I do it myself?" But after seeing Maggie, for the first time in my life, I got a haircut that not only looked great on the first day, but also on the second day, and when I let it dry naturally, and also when I tried to style it myself! I am honestly soooo pleased with this haircut. It was such a great experience for so many reasons. I had a terrible experience with a hair dresser there Jammie. She burned all my hair totally destroyed to the point that I am know bald. Even though she said she took full responsibility for it but reimbursed me only 50% back blaming me for making the choice of Chopin my hair totally ignored my feelings and distress in having hair falling through my hands , floors, pillows at night , itching scalp etc...I reached out to the management of the building and they said they are not responsible for the hairdresser and their work because they are independent workers. So if you're going to a place that you're thinking that you will have people to back you up incase of any physical or emotional disaster this is not the place for you. Be aware. read more

Overview: if you have thick, frizzy, curly-ish hair that's unmanageable, go to Anne T. I have A LOT of hair. I'm talking normal-sized strands but a lot of them which makes my hair super thick. It's also frizzy and lands somewhere in between curly and wavy. It's chaos most of the time. I've gone to Anne twice now and she is awesome at dealing with this monstrosity called my hair. She takes her time with washing and cutting, and is super friendly, fun to talk to, and knowledgeable. She does not pressure products to buy, but gives feedback and recommendations based on the health of the hair and typical upkeep (I.e. applied heat) if you ask. Oh yeah, she also is very meticulous when it comes to shaving. I have an undercut and she takes the time to reshape and carefully trim the undercut to my liking. It turns out great and with fresh lines every time! Her prices are very fair, and you can really tell she cares for her clients and enjoys her work! I can't recommend her more highly :) P.S. she asked if I wanted to leave with my hair curly or straight. I saw a stylist just before the quarantine started, so it was a crazy time! Michael Perez seemed nice at first. As the appointment progressed, my comfort level made a sharp decline. I just wanted to get my hair done and bliss out and feel good about myself. My hair looked great but I couldn't leave fast enough. I thought that it was really strange that he and his assistant went to great lengths to ask me about my ethnicity and heritage. Awkward. Anyone been asked if they were Azerbaijani? Me! I guess there is a first time for any question. He repeatedly made a statement SEVERAL times, "I HOPE THERE IS NO WUHAN UP IN HERE!!!". I was handed a big stack of photos from a trip to India and was given instructions on how to look at them. I am thinking to myself when will this be over???? Really, I just wanted to relax and forget about the impending doom for just one hour...which did not happen while I was in Michael Perez's chair. I left feeling stressed out but my hair looked great. This review is for Nazly hair stylist, who is wonderful! What keeps me coming back is that Nazly specializes in hair coloring and really cares about hair health. She takes the time to make recommendations and takes pride in her profession, whereas other salons never seemed to offer a personalized approach. I had chunky, somewhat outdated highlights when I first went to Nazly, and we've gradually updated the look. Before, my hair was not in the best condition and I just thought that not getting your comb through your hair smoothly was a by-product of highlights. Not so anymore. Now I have highlighted hair that is smooth and shiny and in amazing condition! And Nazly is so fun and nice to hang out with, just like girlfriend time. This is for Rj at perfect arch eyebrows. Ive seen the sign plenty of times I've gone to this location for other services so I decided to try a new threader. I've had my eyebrows threaded since I was 18 - im 24 now, I know the process pretty well. NEVER have I ever bled during a session until my session with Rj. She's pretty slow at it too and she uses such thick threads so it hurt so badly when pressed down so slowly. I told her specifically to keep my eyebrows thick and just clean up around them to avoid making it thin. She took off a piece in the middle of my right eyebrow. She also took away my arch on my right eyebrow. There's a small hole in the front of my left one. My eyebrows look like I did them which is not what I was looking for coming into a salon to have a professional provide the service. She was polite and nice but honestly I just wanted to get out there asap. I paid and tipped bc I know how hard it is for small business owners and I didn't want to be mean and point out what was wrong to her so I just took this loss and left. I love this place for brows and threading! I purchased a Groupon deal for $20 for 5 session of eyebrow threading with RJ, and it was the best decision ever. She is an amazing artist, and my brows have never looked better. She is also super nice and really listens to what you want. I specifically asked for them not to be too thin. Been growing them forever trying to get a fuller brow, and now they are perfect. She also does full face, upper lip, etc. She's a master. Making Appointments: You can make appointments online, but I think it's a little buggy. I would call to make an appointment the first couple times, until you find the stylist you like. Sometimes I can't make appointments with RJ online, even though they had openings. I think it's just a glitch. You pay the stylish directly. This salon really treats its employees like independent contractors so don't book with the wrong person only to go to someone else. They end up losing the business, and it's awkward for everyone. Overall pros: I can't say enough good things about this place. Cute waiting area with free coffee and drinks. Super nice receptionists who really try to help you. Great, personable stylists. Modern facility. ATM onsite. Each stylist has their own "office," so you aren't out in the open, making it a more personal experience (also quieter). Cheap garage parking next door. Easy to find. Our hair always looks great and she listens carefully to what we want done. Amy is a great conversationalist and we always have fun chatting with her while we get our hair done. Symmetry itself is a clean, classy salon. Each stylist has their own space in a room with a door, which allows for privacy. They offer hair styling, nail services, and waxing services, although I can only speak to the hair services. Making appointments is easy, and the front desk staff are always friendly. They have complimentary soda and coffee in the waiting area as well, which is nice. My family greatly enjoys getting our hair done at Symmetry and will continue to go here as long as Amy is here!
