All I can say about Kenny and SCV pools is they are the best! This is the second Pool/Backyard I have had done by SCV. My wife and I couldn't have been happier on both occasions. Kenny listens to what you want and comes up with a design that exceeds your expectations. The entire process from contract to finish went seamless, on time, and on budget! The workmanship is top notch. Thank you Kenny and Crew for building us our dream backyard! Here are some before and after pics

After moving to our new home a few years ago, we were all missing having a pool in our backyard. We started the search for a pool contractor and after 6 different companies came out, we didn't feel like we truly connected with anyone. They all took their drawings with them, we couldn't take a photo of them to remember what they looked like and some said they couldn't even draw a plan up for us without a deposit of up to $1,000. This made us uneasy and we just couldn't understand why all of these companies had such varying prices and yet no one could give us a solid price on what we wanted. We had just about given up when a friend of ours told us about Kenny at SCV Pools. They had used him a few years back to redo their pool and backyard and raved about him. We called Kenny and left a message and he called back within the hour. Immediately I liked him and we were excited to meet him the following day when he was going to come out and take a look at our yard. Kenny showed up on time, walked through our yard, was professional, polite and you could tell he loves to create! He asked us what we were looking for and scheduled another appointment with us to return with plans and pricing. The following week Kenny came over and rolled out the paper with the plans. We were blown away! It was exactly what we had pictured and we surprisingly didn't want change a thing! We did take out a few things so that we could stick to our budget, but it wasn't anything that changed the overall look of the yard. He had a price next to each item so that if we wanted to remove something we knew how much and he had a separate section where he had a price list of things we could add on. We signed the contract on 10/22/19 and felt good about what was to come. We broke ground on 12/5/19 after the city had approved all the permits and plans. We were prepared to be anxious and deal with the problems that always seem to arise with a big home improvement project. Well let me tell you, this was the least stressful home improvement project we have ever been involved in! Kenny's guys arrived on time every day, 6 days a week and were polite and helpful. They always cleaned up after themselves and never interrupted our life. Any time we texted Kenny, he answered within an hour or two which was huge for me. We did lose a some days to rain, but the project was fully completed on March 20, 2020. We are so excited about our new retreat and the timing couldn't have been better with the "stay home" quarantine beginning the day after completion. I now get to work from home while listening to a waterfall while sitting in our new backyard. It sure will be hard to beat this outdoor office when this is all over!

Currently writing this review from my fabulous spa! We were absolutely thrilled with every aspect of our pool build with SCV. Kenny drew a plan from just a brief conversation, and it was like he'd seen inside our heads! We weren't quite ready to pull the trigger though, and Kenny was very patient and never pushy, just checking in with us every few months until we were ready. Once we were, the process was extremely smooth from start to finish and much faster than we expected. Each crew was friendly and skilled...the masonry team is beyond exceptional, absolute artists! The end result is everything we wanted and more. I highly recommend Kenny and SCV!

SCV pools met with us during our initial inspection of our soon to be home. They assessed the current state of the pool and equipment, the condition was not good...well, a family of ducks thought it was great, but not for human occupancy. We knew exactly what we wanted clean, simple and classic. When things are simple, attention to detail in the work is very important. Kenny, the owner understood that. He removed old decking, coping, tile and plaster and replaced with all new. He worked hard to minimize the joint widths which was important to us. His team was very experienced and pleasant to work with. Overall we are very happy with the outcome of our pool. The pics attached are not the best since it iswinter, but you can see the quality of his work.

SCV Pools was one of the best choices we've made! They were awesome! Kenny was wonderful! Always a pleasure to talk to, had great ideas and visions, was always overseeing the project, always answered our texts or calls and always made us feel comfortable about the entire project. There are a few team of guys that are used for the different stages of the build but thy were all very nice and professional. And they all were very good! The mason guys are the main guys that are with you for most of the project. We had Luis, Ramon and Andres and they were absolutely superb! They were very nice and always had a smile. The work they did was beautiful and Luis had a few trucks up his sleeve and took pride in everything he did. You will not go wrong if you pick SCV Pools. Kenny and his wife have hearts of gold and run a very good company. I did a lot of research before I picked someone cause this pool was my baby and let's be honest, is not a cheap purchase. But it was a great investment and we are in love with it. Wouldn't have changed a single thing. Thank you Kenny and SCV Pools. You guys did a FANTASTIC job and our family couldn't be happier!

We love our new backyard! Kenny Pompeo designed and started construction early June and was mostly finished by Labor Day, including the patio cover! We feel like we are at a resort when we go outside!

Great company! Completed in a timely manner..our project consisted of a large amount of natural stone and the masons did a beautiful job constructing it. Turned out exactly as we pictured. Kenny and his staff was a pleasure to work with. Would recommend and have recommended this company to anyone looking to build a pool. Thank you!

Any challenges we had wether with the county permits or with construction- were all resolved by Mike and his crew in a best way possible. CATAK Pools offered reasonable pricing and we did not even bother looking for another contractor and get another quotes. Mike was the only bid we got because we felt from the moment "that's it ! Before moving forward, we met with 3 different contractors, and Mike was the only one who really understood our vision. We didn't want to tear out our existing concrete or patio cover, which made the project more complicated, but he was able to design around it and still deliver exactly what we were hoping for. That flexibility was a big reason we chose them. We broke ground on 9/15/25 and everything was complete by 11/10/25!!! It was crazy how fast everything went and he definitely did an amazing job coordinating all the teams to finish in a timely manner. We went with a custom setup that included a raised spa, Baja shelf, and two illuminated sheer descents, and everything came together really well. The spa might just be one of the biggest in town! The water features at night give the whole backyard a clean, finished look, with the lights. We also added the iAquaLink system, which has been super convenient for controlling everything from our phones. Like any build, there were a few minor things that came up along the way, but nothing major, and Mike has been responsive when we needed him. What stood out most is that he didn't disappear after the job was done-- Mike continues to be helpful when we've had questions or needed small adjustments. That kind of follow-through matters with a project like this, and it's a big reason we'd recommend CATAK. Looking forward to enjoying the pool for years to come and continuing to work with them if anything comes up down the line. I will add some pictures soon!

Maybe if I would have known that a park like this was here, I would have. It didn't even look like it was in Simi Valley. There were people fishing, geese, ducks, streams, a lake, beautifully kept grass, massive trees, cranes, etc. The list could go on and on. I didn't do too much exploring but was able to take in, what I thought seemed like the most beautiful part. They have fields here, playgrounds, community center and so much more! Literally everything you could think of is here. There were people walking their dogs, riding their bikes along the greenway and I never managed to hear any noise from the street. I used to swim with SCAQ when I lived in Venice (another very good program), but it's just too far for me to drive for a pre-dawn workout. The program is held in the Cal Lutheran Pool which was only recently finished. The pool is an outstanding 50 meters which will put the hurt on you if like me, you are woefully unfit. You can't fake fitness in swimming. Nancy, the head masters coach is quite accomplished...UCLA All American, Top Ten in the world in backstroke, etc. etc. She's a good coach who keeps her eye on everyone and gives regular feedback. Her workouts are tough...especially the 1.5 hour workouts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They even have another coach take the beginners in the 25 meter pool to teach noobs pool ettiquette, strokes, flip turns and all that other neat stuff. While they have a lot of items you will need...pull buoys, kick-boards, fins, you may want to invest in those AND a swim cap (if you're a lady), clear and dark goggles (if you're going to swim during the day), hand paddles (start with small ones that fit the size of your hands), wait and buy your fins from Nancy. Also I noted that people are using snorkels when doing pull drills. A couple things BRING WATER!!! Yes, you're in the water, but you still need to drink. If you're a guy and you're not used to wearing those lovely package revealing speedos, you can keep your goodies under wraps with the "down to the knee" versions at your local Sports Chalet. They have locker rooms with showers.

The program is a 9-day session with 30-minute lessons and 3 children per session. In reality, that works out to roughly 10 minutes of instruction per child each day. My son was a little older when he started, which may have made things more challenging for him, and I feel he needed more individual instruction and time in the water to really grasp the skills. One of the reasons I chose the program was because the website states that if a child does not meet their swimming goals by the end of the 9-day session, they can continue classes for free until they do. However, when my son did not meet his goals, I was offered additional classes for an extra $300 instead. Unfortunately, given the limited amount of one-on-one instruction and the overall cost, I don't feel the program was worth the price for us. I was hoping for more individualized instruction and a little more flexibility given the circumstances.
