The integrity that once defined this company seems to be missing. I no longer feel that my needs as a customer are valued, and there's a lack of sensitivity and care in the way clients are treated. Ever since Jennifer Griffin left this company has been run in the ground. At least she would call you back. Karla Richards, the office manager now, will not call you back, will not correct invoices that come out wrong all of the time even when you send them canceled checks to show that you have paid. "CEO" Maceo Brown, the owner will pretend like he'll help you but won't. The salesperson I had has been great, but the customer service here is just horrible. Buy Black, but not here. read more

Horrible experience. There is lack of communication amongst the staff and leadership when problems arise. The office manager, Ms. Bryant, is very defensive, and is not interested in resolving any issues. Had it not been for her, I would have chalked this up as a service that did not work for me. However, my interaction with Ms. Bryant led me to write a review to warn others of the unprofessionalism that you may experience if you have a problem that requires speaking to someone in charge. Needless to say, I do not recommend System 5 for alarm monitoring. Save yourself from being disrespected. read more

My mother has been with this company for at least 10-15 years, and after her passing, I took over the account. I was told, after requesting a repairman for one sensor, I would need to upgrade the whole system due to no available technicians (even though they still work there), and I only have a $200 credit for a $800 system. I might as well get a new system from someone else for that price. read more

I have patronized this business for years. I have diligently tired to work with this business as support to BLACK businesses. Trust me when I say - the juice is not worth the squeeze with this company. Unless you have a lot of time on hand and bored. Be prepared for constant incorrect invoices, cheap equipment, no-shows and rude customer service and lastly, they nickel and dime you for everything. . This review of System 5 Electronics (S5E) is based on interaction with the company as a result of a hit and run by one of their employees in a company car and not of their business performance. It is intended to shed light on their lack of ethics and integrity to take responsibility which would certainly concern me when contracting them for security work. While traveling through Atlanta, we were tied up in traffic on I85. The S5E employee made a dangerous unsafe maneuver and tried to pass between our car and another one just ahead of us in the adjacent lane. There was clearly not enough room but he did it anyway hitting our front quarter panel with his rear quarter panel and then speeding off never stopping to see what he did. Due to the heavy traffic on I85 we eventually caught up with him and although he tried to switch lanes and evade us, we were able to get close enough for pictures to identify his car, the damage to his car and of him. A police report was not possible given the traffic conditions and the S5E employee leaving the scene. We made S5E aware of the incident and sent them the pics we took. The company representative apologized and indicated they would pay for repairs out of pocket, requesting the body shop estimate. They never questioned our account of the incident, but said the driver didn't realize he hit us (his evasive efforts said otherwise). Upon receipt of the estimate, they changed course and turned it over to their insurance company. The insurance company eventually dismissed the claim stating S5E now denied any involvement in the accident, damage to their car (the pictures showed otherwise) or knowledge of the incident by their employee. S5E's position change should be concerning with regards to how they would stand behind their security work in a similar situation. Legal responsibility took priority over moral obligation. With many security companies in Atlanta, I would strongly suggest people pursue other options given our experience. read more

I recently became a former customer of System 5, the CEO talks a good game for marketing purposes but his staff business practices are the WORST. I'm a retired US ARMY Soldier, served over 20+ years in the military and I needed a home system that could be trusted to protect my home. System 5 staff proves poor service leaving a taste of disgusts in your mouth! My Wife and I wanted to upgrade the main door with a digital lock system, which we paid for the system in full before installation. It was discovered that the lock system couldn't be installed due to configuration issues. My wife decided against getting a new system after it took system over a month to notify her of their intentions. Therefore, we informed system 5 that we would wanted our payment refunded. Instead She received a company that's great at procrastinating and poor at keeping its word to their Customers. We have since decided against ever using System 5 again as a service provider nor will we ever speak highly to others on this company's behalf! To date we have not received a refund and System 5 act as if $239 will make their payroll short for the month. This is the US and we have rights to decline services after being failed. So be aware of their business practices because the business practices can't be trusted! After serving over 20yrs in the military, it bothers me that a company like system can't be fully trusted to provide a QUALITY SERVICE that provide a foundation of protection due to inconsistent business practices. read every single inch of the terms and services. every single inch. because if anything goes wrong, this company will do the barest minimum to fix the issue. when you install a system, they hook up a radio to get your alarm system online. i paid for this in the installation, which was fine because it was fully explained to me. what was not explained was that the window and door sensors would also need replacing, because if they had mentioned that they were hooking up a new radio and keypad to outdated sensors, i would have thought twice about the repercussions. unfortunately this was not explained, and ive been having issues with the servicing of my alarm system nearly every day for the last four months. i signed away my soul for a THREE YEAR contract, which was not made clear to me as the tech rushed through the paperwork with me. wasnt made aware of it until i tried to terminate my service five months in, after which i was told cancelling my contract would cost nearly $1000. when i expressed my displeasure the owner of the company told me it was my own fault for not reading the fine print. he said maybe if i wasnt so young and reckless i could have avoided this headache. so dont make my same mistake. if you can go with any other company i would recommend you do so. if for some reason youre feeling masochistic, go ahead and sign a three year contract with these folks, but make sure you read every inch of that long contract and make sure you get clear satisfactory answers for all your concerns before you hand over any money. do yourself a favor and just dont, though. read more

S5E has done a magical job with helping me and my wife with a new alarm system. Our old alarm system worked just fine but was caveman ancient. I started by calling in for a few questions and I was connected to a few ladies that were extremely helpful! After some phone tagging, I finally was connected and setup for a sales call with Bernice. Bernice was like a relative when she came in, I felt like she was not trying to over sell me, she listened, and explained all options smooth and like a true professional (I'm in sales so I recognized a sales veteran) Fast forward to this week I was setup by Ruthy for a tech to come out to get my installation done. Yesterday Pierre came out and was another breathe of fresh air. Pierre was down to earth, we talked football, he installed me and explained everything very thoroughly, he hooked us up and made the new system seem like we just got a new cell phone (user friendly). He gave me some security nuggets that was beyond cool. Pierre did his job, but also went above and beyond his job!! I decided to tip Pierre and instead of expecting it, he was extremely appreciative and we both joked " it's lunchtime ". Anyway, for anyone that is reading this review, use S5E, refer S5E, I appreciate there service and I feel good supporting a black owned business here in Atlanta! read more

We have S5 at our business, home, and a rental house. So far they have been great, had a few faulty sensors/alarms. They came out and fixed and haven't had problems since. They have def saved our business from some attempted break-ins. Payment system could be a little better (online). Like the Alarm.com function, you always know what is going on at your home. read more

A customer over 2 1/2 years, one year under contract...loyalty don't mean a damn thing! My house was broken into and robbed, the police contacted 7 min later (they didn't show up for 25 min...but that's on the police department). Key pad malfunctioning, when I call for service sometimes I get a response and a technician, sometimes I don't (there you have it...CPT). My entire system shut down over the weekend (monitoring alerts on Sat & Sun) I frantically called the so called "after hours" number and left 2 messages, NO ONE ANSWERED OR CALLED BACK! Called the main number and left messages on the owner's voice mail...waiting to hear from him. I didn't sleep all night vigilantly guarding my home. Monday at 8:05 a female calls me all stating that she see alerts on her panel (I knew that), and when I informed her of my frantic calls she tells me that she was/has the "after hours" phone...and, she didn't receive my call...I LOST IT! No, the system can't save my life, but it will alert me so that I can have a fighting chance...that's what I'm still paying for! If I don't have that, then wth do I have?! I don't stereotype but I will call a spade a spade...and that's why most said businesses don't flourish; because they prove statistics right! *Okay, it's 10:30am I talked to Mr. Maceo Brown (Owner) and finally got the issue resolved, and my system is back up and running. Come to find out, that I disconnected the system when I flipped the circuit breaker...and the battery only lasts for upto 48 hours. HOWEVER!! HAD THEY'D CALLED ME BACK (the 1st, or 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th time) We would have resolved the issue before it escalated...and I lost sleep. for that I am removing the 1 star and replacing it with 3 stars...cause they still didn't respond to my 2 service calls last summer, and this, not answering on the weekend. read more

I have been safe and secure for over 6 years and have not had any problems with the system or service. They understand people and life's situations that occur and are willingly to work with you to accommodate you keeping your service active during difficult times, so basically they treat you like family which in this day in time many companies do not. I have been a customer for over 10 years and I should have known better than to invest my time and energy into this company. When an issue presents itself they have no solution to the problem even when the issue is THEIR fault! I own a business and I requested for an annual fire inspection to which they sent their employee. I usually pay no more than $120 for the inspection since they do not spend more than an hour in my establishment. However, I received a bill from the company who spent only 45 minutes doing the inspection and they expect me to pay $360 for the inspection! I contacted the owner personally and all Mr. Brown had to say is that he does acknowledge his employee's wrongdoing but he can't do anything to change the bill. If his employee messes up the bill that should be the owner's fault NOT mine. Also there has been multiple times when the alarm would go off but nobody comes to inspect the issue. The security system concerns me as they do not provide adequate security measures. Now I am stuck with them because their system is not transferable. If you want to move from one company to another there is a chance you can still keep the security system if it is compatible. However, System 5 Electronics is not compatible with any other system. Therefore, you are locked in once you sign their contract. I wish I had did my homework ahead of time before I had invested any money and time into their system. Be aware. read more
