I've always wanted to have pavers done to our driveway. We looked into it years ago but waited until the time was right. Joey was our immediate contact person. He was amazing. He walked us through the process, helped us order our pavers and got us scheduled for our installment. I was pretty amaze at how quickly the process of scheduling and installation was. I was told that it was going to take up to 8 days, but only took 3, which was a plus for us. The driveway looks amazing and has added a different face to our home. It's given it a facelift that it's needed without a paint job. Why the 3 out of 5 stars? Well, it's been 3 weeks since the job completion and I'm still finding trash from the workers, ie banana peels, 1/2 uneaten apples, remnants of dirt and asphalt in our bushes, sand on the street. I didn't realize when I signed the contract that clean up was going to be our responsibility. That wasn't made clear to me. I'm a bit disappointed. read more

DON'T DO IT!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I would strongly urge you not to do business with this money grubbing, valueless, heartless company. I was a returning customer who had spent 30K with them back in the early 2000's and so figured I would go with them again. This time they came out, gave me an estimate that allegedly had a returning customer discount which I'm certain now was BS. I should have been tipped off that something was amiss when I asked for a mailbox made of pavers and they quoted me $4,500! I asked for a 3' diameter firepit and they quoted me $4,500. I later found out that the firepit is sold as a kit by Angeles Block for $450. The prices were so absurd that the salesman even admitted as much and suggested we not include them in the estimate. At least he was honest. So I did not go with those options and instead stuck with the rest of the paving. They asked for 10% down. 10% is actually a lot of money and most other contractors only require $1000 down. In any case, I made the mistake of giving them the $7000 down and signing a contract. Subsequently, we had a financial issue come up in the family and told them we would be unable to afford the work after all. They basically told me I had missed the 3-day cancellation window and they were going to keep the $7000. I pleaded with them and appealed to their sense of fairness. They had not ordered any material, put one boot on my property, or anything else other than provide the estimate. They said it was company policy to keep all of the money if the customer misses the 3 day cancellation window. I offered to let them keep $1000 for the estimator's time and give back $6000. They said no. PRO TIP: Go to Angeles Block (paver manufacturer) in Oxnard (that is their paver division) and ask them for a contractor reference in your area. That is what I ended up doing. The person was out the next day, and the price was more than 20% cheaper than System Pavers. They were awesome! Even losing the $7000 that System Pavers took for doing nothing I still saved a boatload of money and the work was pristine! read more

It took me over a year of due diligence, studying and searching for the right hardscape and astro turf contractor, before I finally settled on System Pavers. It was a tough and scary choice. Did I choose the right contractor? That would be a resounding "YES!" System Pavers was highly professional, providing superb service and a quality product certain to add value to our property. It is a Class "A" Company - 5 Stars all around! Our property presented grading challenges with a new pool and a slanted grade. We were rather unsure as to how to proceed. My husband and I tried different ideas but had not quite settled on any one that we were comfortable with. System Pavers' rather talented Design Consultant, Alex Viecco, stepped in and presented a highly creative way to meet our grading challenges and design our perfect space. In fact, it was uncanny how Alex seemed to know exactly what we wanted before we, ourselves, did. Alex was excited as he presented us with a great plan to marry a rather large space that includes a pool area, an entertainment space, plus a raised "blank" area. My husband and I plan to use this blank slate to create our own, private tropical rainforest, complete with waterfalls and tropical foliage. The workmanship provided by System Pavers was stellar with Project Manager Harley at the helm. Communications were great as he kept us apprised every step of the way and made certain we were getting exactly what we wanted. Harley worked with such a positive "can-do" attitude and even shared some creative ideas which we adopted. Harley is impressive. I did have an issue with pricing which began at 41K and kept rising until we landed at approximately 52K. I understand this was because of a sitting wall I had ordered, but I must say, that even with the discounts, I was somewhat taken aback at the final cost. Still, you get what you pay for and, since they did provide financing at a relatively good rate, my family and I were happy in the end. Again, I would like to give a shout-out to Project Manager Harley who, with his hard-working crew, toiled away to ensure that we would love the final product. Harley went above and beyond to try and lower costs here and there. Harley and his crew are some of the most professional and hard-working contractors I have ever come across. They worked quickly and cleaned after themselves. They kept to their schedule. They were highly professional throughout the entire process. As I said earlier, System Pavers provided us with a hardscape and turf that is certain to add value to our property as we look forward to enjoying it for many years to come. About 15 months after turf and paver installation, we had a water leak under our turf and they sent someone out the next day to check on it. Turned out to be an unrelated pipe breakage. Not only didn't they charge us for service call, but the tech even repaired a divot the gardener had made. I also had them check pavers where sand was coming loose and they took care of it. We love our pavers and have had them for 6 months now with no issue. We met with Jay a couple times over a 2-3 year period while we were trying to figure out what we really wanted with our new backyard. He was friendly and kind and helped through the whole process from start to finish. Once we finally figured out what we wanted, the form and loan process was simple and easy direct through Jay. They were able to work with our schedule and came out on time and quick when we were ready to schedule (since we wanted to wait a couple weeks due to travel). Pricing was higher than some of the other proposals we received, but it was clear that System Pavers was worth the tad increase based on their professionalism, overall quality, and warranty. Once we got set up, our project manager Harley reached out almost immediately. He met with us to view the work area and talk through all the details of what would happen over the work period. He was able to answer all our questions or speak with someone with the answers to our questions to be able to get us answers. He was incredibly professional and supportive through the process. He quoted the lead time for the work to be done over a max of a 1-2 weeks period. The work was done much faster. The crew worked full days for 3 days and completed it. Arturo, the crew lead, was on top of it with his team. We were impressed with the work and speed (especially since it has held up quality wise so far!). There was a single paver that had a hairline crack in it that we found during inspection. Harley talked with Arturo, and they were able to fix it by the next morning first thing. We even ended up with a couple extra pavers that were leftover that we use for steps to our side gate. We are happy, especially with it being such a large investment for us. We love our home in Thousand Oaks and have lived here for 3 1/2 years. One of the last items on our list to renovate was our ugly cement slab with peeling paint and terrible drainage issues. We met with System Pavers own Alex Viecco who is a talented and knowledgeable designer who understood our aesthetic vision and the drainage challenges we faced. He took the time needed to sketch out and design the floor plan complete with numerous drains, underground down spout connections and proper sloping away from the house. He also helped us pick the right pavers to accommodate our somewhat picky taste. We signed the contract that seemed a fair price for the amount of work proposed picked a start date and kept our fingers crossed! After just 4 days we were standing on our beautiful new patio amazed at the transformation! Alex's great design ideas that modified and streamlined our old layout made the patio look MUCH bigger. I "tested" the drains by trying to flood the patio and the drainage system worked perfectly. I have been "in the business" for 40 years and we have 3 General Contractors in the family so I know good work when I see it. The System Pavers Crew that did my job was excellent. The work ethic was there, the knowledge was there and they did it in what seemed like record time. Super hard workers that knew exactly what they were doing from demo to final details. Thanks to Jimmy for making it happen. One change order popped up unexpectedly that should have been discussed before the work was done ( adding one more necessary drain) but the end result of that change substantially improved and completed a perfect job. New home needing to transform a dirt lot of a back yard into something beautiful. We got a couple of bids from general contractors who did pavers and landscaping in our neighborhood. All had good reputations. But each made appointments and canceled last minute because they were so busy. We stumbled on SP from an ad. We read up on them as a company and checked out a few of the homes they worked on in our neighborhood. Only excellent recommendations. Dave Rinker was our contact person/sales person. He came to our appointment on time. Explained the scope of the job and the advantages of going with a company that gives a 25 year guarantee. He was also a big help in getting the documents together to present to the HOA. The only downside to using SP is that they don't do the landscape work so you need two different contractors. That led to a little confusion when the work started. But Jimmy, the project manager, and Eli, the crew chief, were terrific in resolving the issues and making everything work correctly.
