I'm sorry but this review is long overdue. I had John inspect a house for me with very little notification. He called immediately, showed up promptly and was beyond thorough. I went to the house he was inspecting for me and answered questions, gave suggestions and continued on doing his work. Honest, thorough and kind. He was on time. Explained everything thoroughly. John found things like a beam that was slightly off. My builder took a level to it and confirmed it. I can now rest easy knowing there aren't any crooked beams above my head. We had a hail storm a few days after the inspection and John was able to make time to inspect the roof the next day. John Safstrom saved my ass! I had a contract on a $158k house in Carrollton. Everything seemed absolutely fine to me. The Seller's Disclosure showed no problems. I hired Systematic Home Inspections because they were the highest rated on Yelp. That rating is deserved. John found problems with everything, the foundation, wiring, plumbing, roof, leaks, dead rodents. EVERYTHING. I am backing out of the house now. While I regret losing the money on the option and the inspection in the short term, it was worth the money to avoid the long-term expenses that would be associated with the property. read more

John is awesome and fantastic. He did two inspections for us--the first one saved us from a house that had a recalled electrical panel and a terrible roof that the owner did not want to fix. He did a discounted second inspection for us and always sends a full detailed report (with pictures) the same day. I'm more of a "hands off" person, but my fiance likes to "be in the mix" and ask lots of questions. John was more than helpful explaining things to him and went over each report with us in detail when he was finished, showing us all potential problems in the house. We ended up buying the second house (after working with the previous homeowners to fix a few things). We've now lived in this house for six months and have had no surprises or any problems we weren't prepared for based off of John's expert inspection. Had a very good experience with John and Systematic Home Inspections. I needed a short-notice inspection done, and he happened to have an opening a couple days away so we coordinated and chop-chop, done! He has an electric lock key-thing, so the realtor didn't need to be there... bonus, one less thing for me to coordinate. He showed up on his own on the morning of the inspection (I assume on time), and I showed up toward the end of it and he walked me through everything. Pointed out issues and necessary repairs. His knowledge of codes and explanations of the problem areas and concerns was much appreciated. The report had good photographs included and a detailed summary.
