Great place with great service. They have a nice selection as well as custom tailoring. I'd prefer this to a big box store for sure.

I'm with Andrew on this one... My dad bought his most recent suit here and bought one for my brother. When I mentioned needing a new suit, my dad didn't hesitate and he brought me to Szar's. John and his dad did great work getting me a quality suit and tailored to me. Not only that, they rushed it for me since I needed one quickly. After it was all said and done, I paid a very very reasonable price... Coming from Ann Arbor, had I gone to Van Boven or the like, I would have expected to pay at least double. Szar's is truly a men's fine clothing store with a personal touch and I will have all future tailoring work and any other suits purchased here as long as I'm close to the area. I am new to the area and needed a new suit for my nephews wedding. I traveled to Szar's and got an old fashioned tailored suit and shirts. First rate all the way. When I told my co-workers about the quality & price I was surprised that they all knew about this shop. Word of mouth is 100% positive and this business is well established. This place is top notch. I stopped in here to have pant leg hem fixed that someone else did. Bill fixed it while I waited, noticed another part of the pants that was about to need to be sewn as well, fixed that, ironed the pants and told me it was no charge. Fantastic experience. I purchased a suit from Szar's many years ago (too many to admit to) and had some stitches come out due to abuse on my part. Took it in to get repaired and was recognized immediately. The outstanding service here is the reason that I will never purchase fine clothing from a big chain store. Locally owned shops like Szar's are what gives a city it's identity. I am in the military and have never been away from a uniform shop. I have heard horror stories from other service members about using tailor shops out side of the militarys uniform shops. So when I needed some things done, some local military guys said to go to Szars. I stopped in and within 30 minutes I was on my way with everything done and done right. The cool part was he already had an excellent idea of were all the patches went without much explaining! Awsome service! Going back with more stuff to alter soon! Agree 100% with these other guys. I have lived in Point Place / Shoreland area for 5-6 years and finally ventured into Szar's a couple weeks ago. I will never shop for clothes anywhere else. This isn't a place for college students. But if you are just a little older, you can find great attire for work or a suit for whatever needs. Service is great and they make adjustments while you're there and any future repairs are free. Can't beat it. If you hate the mall like I do then this place is probably for you. read more

If you need a suit or any kind of menswear, go to Szar's. The gentlemen there are willing to stop and talk and give you pointers and friendly tips. I have bought several suits from them and over time I have needed alterations, which they did at no additional cost. They are very knowledgeable about the products and can always give you an honest opinion and keep you looking good and sharply dressed! read more

I have done business with their store for at least 15-20 years. You can't beat the service, selection and price. They tailor (alterations) on site, its done before you leave the store. Great help in making selections. Family owned business that's worth every penny spent there. I will not shop anywhere else for dress clothes or suites. read more
