It doesn't get any better than an inexpensive Chinese buffet in Sharonville where you can actually get a seat at lunch! I've only made it in to Szechuan House for the lunch buffet so far, but I keep coming back. The food on the buffet is consistently good- a few noodle options, a few meat options, and a little of everything else mixed in between. You can't beat the deep fried chicken wings! Service was good, food was mostly bad. There were a couple of good dishes, but most of it was not good, some, not edible. Hot and sour soup was the absolute worst I've ever tasted! Couldn't eat it. This is by far the best Chinese Restaurant I have ever eaten at. My favorite dishes are the Shrimp with Lobster sauce and the beef with mixed vegetables. Their cheese puffs are also to die for! GREAT little restaurant just off 275 in sharonville on route 42. Food is all piping hot. Sauces delicious. Meat juicy. Vegetables fresh & crispy. Super friendly staff made sure everything on the buffet was filled up for us even though it was late in the evening! Excellent fried shrimp. Loved the pepper chicken! Some of the best Lo Mein noodles I've ever had. Hot and sour soup was sweeter than average but extra tasty. FINALLY!! A Chinese buffet that has good tasting food. As highlighted in other reviews this Gem does not have the mega selection like most buffets but the selections it does have are wonderful. Fresh tastes and quality ingredients. The Moo Goo Gai Pan is as good as it gets along with the zesty Szechuan Chicken. The staff here is super friendly and always smiling. We recently visited this establishment. The value for the food was great We got the family meal for 3 11.95 per person. For this we received soup assortment of appetizers and 3 entrees. Here on business and thought I would try it out based on Yelp reviews. I have to say this place was excellent. $8.99 Hunan Shrimp dinner combo with soup and fried rice was delicious. Lots of jumbo shrimp and very crisp and FRESH veggies. Also you must try the cream cheese puffs. Like Rangoon but with carrots instead of imitation crab. These were delicate and not overly fried nor greasy. Only reason for the four stars and not five was the dining room although just redone was not very upscale and had the big empty Buffett right when you come in. Food is great!! Although the taste of the food was pretty good and the flavors went well together there are some complaints. After a long wait the food came out half cold half hot. The service was decent. I am not one to complain but I think our server could tell things were not all that good and she seemed to try to make things right by going out of her way to get to go things ready which was nice. read more

This is the best Chinese ever. My family has eaten here for years now. I ate it as a kid and I bought a house a mile away from my childhood home and now I'm within delivery range for Szechuan House. I ordered from them a few times now. Their prices are very reasonable and portions are huge. It was the only Chinese restaurant that would delivery where I was staying (Value place ,Sharonville). The fried rice were average but not too bad. There these puffs were awesome though. Better then the crab rangoon. Try to ask for their hot oil on the side. read more

I arrived at the end of lunch rush. Buffet was not filled, 3 main popular dishes were never filled from the time I arrived till I left. There were 7 people in the restaurant. Just to have something to eat, I tried sweet and sour chicken (hard, rice was sticky and clumpy). I told the cashier about my horrible experience, he replied when we are slow we can't afford to put a lot out. I said some would be better than none. When I left there was 5 of the 7 main dishes empty. I said you should close then. He said sorry but took my money. I told him I definitely would not be back. Beware if the buffet is low or empty, from my experience it will stay that way. read more

The adage of not judging a book by its cover is very applicable to Szechuan House. Though the building may have seen better days it is clear all of the effort goes into serving above average Chinese-American food. Pleasant waitstaff, the primary gentleman who runs deliveries is very sweet; well worth the wait for delivery! I can't say the food is good nor bad when 90% of the trays are empty and they call it a buffet. I thought they would fill them up so I went ahead and started getting food from what was left but after 10 or so minutes later and it was still empty. So I asked and was told they stopped cooking at 2pm that is why. Then stopped letting people in and charging them to eat leftover. Not going back there ever again. I may just have a new favorite Chinese restaurant! Visited Szechuan House for dinner tonite on a whim having driven past on numerous occasions. At 8 pm on a Friday evening there were only 2 tables and they were eating from a buffet which is served on Fri, and Sat. Evenings. Although the food on the buffet looked fresh and there were plenty of choices, I opted to order off the menu while my husband chose the buffet. At $10.95 the buffet is a bargain, allowing diners to chose from several starch options, vegetable and meat and seafood dishes. Two soups were also featured as well as several appetizers and desserts. My husband sampled a variety of dishes and found all to be well prepared and at a proper temperature. I ordered one of my all time favorite Chinese/American dishes...combination pan fried noodles, extra spicy. My meal, although not actually spicy, was great. The noodles were crunchy upon arrival and there was just the right amount of flavorful brown sauce to soften them to perfection. The vegetables were tender crisp and there was plenty of good sized shrimp, chicken etc. Service was wonderful! Waitstaff was very attentive and friendly.
