Very upfront and gave a more than fair price for buying our car. It was above the blue book offer as well.

Unfortunately, I…read morewasn't able to get a car on my visit, but, my experience at Seaport was interesting to say the least. I actually went through Credit Acceptance (I've heard some terrible things but I knew what to expect) to see if there even was a glimmer of getting a car loan with my damaged credit. My information got sent to three different dealerships and only two seemed to contact me. Seaport and Gresham Toyota. Still working with Toyota, although I doubt I'll have good news. Anyways, the guy I ended up working with was pretty laid back and was kind enough to listen to my needs and provide some feedback on what I wanted. Fair. But when it came to my credit, I was told I needed some additional proof of income and a down payment. I accept that. So I'll probably be back unless something else comes up. The slightly disappointing thing about the whole experience was that I was told that there was no catch and was also told that there was an approval. I knew it wasn't actually technically true considering they had yet to run my credit. But at least I was able to confirm that I'd have to work a little more before I could get approved. Just felt like I could have saved a little time and gas though.

BUYER BEWARE: "CarMax Certified" Truck Failed in Hours, Leaving Me Out $27k Cash…read more I purchased a "CarMax Certified" 2022 Nissan Frontier (48,000 miles | VIN: 1N6ED1EKXNN614393) from the Clackamas location for over $27k IN CASH, expecting a reliable vehicle for my family and business. Our salesperson, Ian, was professional and great to work with, but the confidence ended less than two hours later. While driving home over the Oregon Coast Range with my 7-year-old daughter, the transmission began slipping, hesitating, and violently jerking forward at highway speeds. A local mechanic inspected it, and Nissan later confirmed a major transmission failure. Worse, Nissan found clear evidence that the transmission had been previously tampered with, removing the factory warranty coverage and throwing responsibility entirely back onto CarMax. The Corporate Runaround: Instead of standing behind their "certified" vehicle, CarMax has subjected me to a week of exhausting escalation and dodging: Service Manager John (Beaverton): Has held the truck for 6 days without providing a diagnosis. He doesn't return calls, ignores Nissan's service department, and literally laughed at the mechanical failure. Operations Manager Elliot: Recited a rigid corporate script to explain why he won't help. General Manager Eugene (Clackamas):Friendly enough, but completely lacks the authority to resolve the issue. The "Solutions" Offered: CarMax has verbally offered completely unacceptable options, refusing to put any of their extensions or promises in writing: 1. A sketchy repair: Forcing me to accept a truck with a known history of tampering, zero Nissan powertrain warranty, and a used/rebuilt LKQ transmission (which Nissan mechanics advised is a dangerous long-term solution). CarMax refused to include a MaxCare warranty to offset this massive risk. 2. An indefinite replacement search:Waiting forever for them to source a truck from across the country, while expecting *me* to pay the shipping costs for their failure. They refuse to do a fair price exchange for comparable trucks already available locally. 3. The Refund Trap: They told me it will take up to 10 days just to get my cash back. The Bottom Line: Vehicles break, but the way CarMax handles it is the real nightmare. Because they are holding onto my $27,000 cash for over a week, I am physically trapped without transportation and completely blocked from buying a reasonable replacement vehicle elsewhere. They gave me a small SUV rental that doesn't fit my business needs, meaning I am actively losing work income every single day while they sit on my money. My Advice: Do not trust Carmax. I thought I bought peace of mind; instead, I bought a $27k project, a week-long fight, and a complete loss of my transportation and livelihood.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the service department at Ron Tonkin on McLoughlin Road,…read moreespecially the Service Manager who has been working with me through a stressful and unexpected situation with my vehicle. I brought my vehicle in for recall-related work involving the catalytic converter and related systems. Before bringing it in, my vehicle was not throwing codes and was safe for me to drive. After the recall work, there were unexpected issues involving sensors and possibly a larger system concern. Naturally, as someone who still owes money on the vehicle, maintains it regularly, and drives with children in the car, my biggest concern has been safety and making sure my vehicle is truly okay before I leave with it. The Service Manager has gone above and beyond in how he has handled the situation. He took the time to look into technical forums connected to this specific recall, escalated the issue, communicated with Jeep, and continued trying to figure out what was happening rather than simply sending me on my way. He also made sure I was placed in a very nice loaner vehicle while my car is being worked on, which has helped tremendously. While the issue is still being sorted out and I am still waiting to get my vehicle back, I genuinely appreciate the customer service, care, and humanness I have experienced. He has made it clear that making sure my vehicle is safe is important to him too, and that means a lot. This kind of customer service feels rare these days. Even though the circumstances have been stressful, I feel like my concerns have been heard and taken seriously. I appreciate the effort, communication, and willingness to keep working toward a solution.

She got excited. We looked up some on carguru and Platt came up in our search. Their place was few miles down the road so we went down thinking we'd be turned away. Peter was more than happy to accommodate. He let us test drive a couple different models including a Bolt. It really opened our eyes to these vehicles. He talked with us after the test drives and was happy to answer questions, give advice and info on all types of EV's (this was after close mind you). We weren't quite ready to purchase a car yet so we left. Peter's non-pushy attitude and kindness stuck with us. About two months later we decided to pull the trigger. I couldn't think of any other place to look for an EV. We had a list of options we wanted and Peter accommodated us and pulled a bunch of cars from their list. We test drove a couple AWD Nissan Aryia Engage+ e-4orce and really liked them. We went ahead and purchased one. It was a lease return with 15k miles. The EV was in great condition and the price was right. They were generous with our trade in and all the paperwork was very swift. I think we were out of there in under 2 hours. We highly recommend Platt Auto if interested in an used EV. You wont be sorry. They have a lot of different models to choose from.
