    We do it!

Jack is the man. He was helpful and patient with us while we visited Platt Auto Group and test drove multiple EVs over the last month. He gave us honest answers and helped us to find the perfect vehicle. Thanks Jack! I am recommending you and Platt Auto Group to my Friends that are looking for a trustworthy EV car dealer.

We purchased our first EV (2023 Bolt EUV) from Platt Auto yesterday. They gave us a great trade in on our 2012 Highlander (much better than other dealerships), but the real differentiator was Peter's expertise and extensive knowledge of EVs. When we arrived, I shared our budget and must-have's. Once Peter had the trade-in value, he printed out a list of all the EVs on the lot that fit our requirements. We test drove four and ended up with the Bolt. There was no haggling and no pressure at any point. We visited three other dealerships and the reps knew little to nothing about the EVs we test drove, much less EVs broadly. I will be recommending Platt to anyone who asks from now on.

    Happy new EV owner.

A business has to be pretty confident to outright solicit reviews, and Platt Auto is - rightly so. My car was totaled in June of 2020, and I was both mourning the loss of the vehicle I had purchased just two years prior, and dreading re-engaging in the car buying process. I was not looking to purchase an electric vehicle when I stumbled across Platt. I had considered it, based on family members' recommendations, but ultimately written it off as inconvenient and not appropriate for my situation (I have a 90-mile roundtrip commute). I had, somewhat unhappily, settled on buying a Subaru, but a couple of test-drives at Subaru of Portland left me disappointed in the experience: both of the vehicles and the process. I was resignedly browsing Autotrader for orange cars, waxing nostalgic for my 2017 Chevy Sonic in Metallic Burst, when a new listing caught my eye: a 2017 Chevy *Bolt* in Metallic Burst. My heart did a little flip. It was right at the top of my budget. It had only 45,000 miles. It was orange. It was... all-electric. Could I make it work? Imagine my disappointment when, upon Googling "Chevy Bolt," I discovered the vehicle was currently undergoing a recall for spontaneously bursting into flame. Still, something told me this was the one. I called Platt and spoke with Ray, who was warm, sincere and funny. He answered all my questions and allayed my fears about the recall. He also didn't judge me for holding out for an orange car! I told him I would come by a couple of days later. When I arrived, I met the owner, Greg. Once again, he answered all my questions without talking down to me, and handed me the keys for a test drive (without requiring a signature in blood like most other dealers). I fell in love with the car immediately. I had noticed its interior was a little dirty, and when I asked Greg about it, he explained they hadn't had time to detail it yet and that it would be pristine before purchase. I also mentioned that I preferred the stock wheels to the aftermarket ones on the vehicle, and he said he had an extra set that he would swap out for me. That really clinched the deal for me. I knew from other reviews that Platt's prices are firm, but I asked if there was wiggle room anyway. Greg said there wasn't, which was fine - the car was priced at the exact middle of the Kelly Blue Book estimated value range. After answering a bunch more questions, he encouraged me to think about it, and told me that if I decided I wanted it, I could call back and he would hold it for me. I called back within 24 hours and told him I wanted the car. I went by the next day to complete paperwork, which Jack had prepared for me ahead of time (completely different from my last car purchase, where I waited for four hours in the dealer lobby, and then in the office while they attempted to mentally break me for another hour so I would buy their extended warranty). Jack did give me a little bit of "soft sell" - would I like to buy a charger, was I interested in the protection plan, would I like pink leather seats (tempting) - but I get it. And honestly, I absolutely would feel comfortable purchasing any of those items from Platt if they had been the right fit for me at the time. Ultimately, I was in and out in about a half hour. I picked up the car a few days later and as promised, it was pristine on the inside, and the wheels had been swapped out. Ray gave me a "beginner's guide" overview of the basic functions and features of the car and then handed me the keys. At this point, we still hadn't even discussed payment - I was waiting on the payout from my collision claim. Greg had said "we'll let you take the car, no problem. Just send us a check when you get the chance." And that was it - I was the brand new owner of a beautiful Bolt! I stopped by with the check a few days later and caught up with Ray. A few days after that, I noticed the TPMS wasn't working, and stopped by again. Greg told me he must have forgotten to register the tires when he swapped them and apologized. He locked up the shop while he ran down the street to get the tool he needed, and in about 15 minutes I was on the road again with a working TPMS. Greg continued to be helpful while we waited for the title to come in and coordinated with my lender to get them all the necessary information. All in all, I could not be more pleased with my experience with Platt Auto. The entire team was genuinely helpful, there was absolutely no pushy sales tactics and no awkward haggling. Oh, and did I mention they offer a 7 day money-back guarantee? If you don't like the car for any reason, just bring it back within 7 days. I didn't get to test that offer, because it's going to be a long time before I part with my Bolt. This was my first EV, but it won't be my last. If I can shop with Platt for the rest of my car-owning life, I will. It was as straightforward and casual as buying from a friend. P.S. Tell Ray I named her Sunshine.

Ask them about their relationship with "Artist Pride". Is $114.00 really worth eBay and mail fraud?
    matt s.

Platt Auto Group bought a e-vehicle charger from me on eBay for $114.00. Their payment was "stuck" in eBay for several days, so I had them pay me directly in PayPal. They complained severely, on both eBay and to me personally about the condition, although there were detailed pictures of the charger, and it worked perfectly. I honored their return and refunded their money, although noted that PayPal updated their name to "Artist Pride" ?!. A week after they received the PayPal refund, they also opened a dispute with eBay and received a *second* refund from my charger. I'm now working with the post office, PayPal and eBay on their elaborate fraud scheme. Nasty communications, nasty people - do you really want to buy a car here?

    Best All-Electric Vehicle Dealer!
    Edwin T.

Platt Auto Group is a gem in the Electric Vehicle selling business. I bought a used Nissan Leaf from them and could not be happier. The buying process and quality of EVs are top-notch. I'm always hesitant to buy from any car dealers, (Especially since most dealers don't know anything about electric cars) But this place is different. It was recommended by the Portland Nissan Leaf Facebook Group, which many members expressed their great experience with this Electric Vehicle seller and the EVs they bought from them. So I gave them a call, spoke to Jack and they happened to have something I was looking for for a great price! Ended up going there, asking tons of questions and all got answered really well (They really know EVs and I thought I knew a lot about EVs) So I ended up test driving it. I bought it on the same day! The buying experience was easy, as it was a no-pressure, no-haggle, minimal paperwork so it was fast and smooth. I love their 7-day return and other warranty options that it was a no-brainer to purchase. Great condition and great battery health life. I even took it to the Nissan dealership for a full check-up and they were impressed. Save yourself a headache, come to this place and get your EV questions answered if you are curious about getting an all-electric vehicle in the future. There is no better place like Platt. Thank you Jack and Ray for the great experience! - Edwin

    Our 2012 leaf, thanks Greg!

Buying a car from Platt auto group was a unique experience, in a good way. Platt specializes in electric vehicles. While you might find one or two nissan leafs at a regular car lot. Platt had 50. We looked at and drove several in our budget. Absolutely zero pressure and Greg answered all our questions. Our car fits our needs and the complete experience was positive. If you're looking to purchase a used car and have a less than 50 mile round trip commute, I'd suggest an off lease leaf from Platt auto group. And I received no compensation for this review. Thanks Steve

He was very straight forward which was relieving as a lot of salesmen can be too pushy and over bearing. When we got to talking numbers the manager Fernando came out to help. He was extremely personable and helped out immensely! I was already pre-approved, but he got me an even better rate and worked to get the monthly payment I was aiming for! After the purchase I had some small cosmetic issues with the car and Fernando got me help right away with Deseo from the service department. The Rav4 we almost bought seemed to be in great shape, and we thought a PPI was overkill but better safe than sorry. Turns out not only did it need thousands of dollars missed important interval maintenaces, THE STRUTS HAD BEEN SPRAY PAINTED to hide rust. This was so shady, but even shadier was the complete lack of responsibility that Lithia Subaru took when we politely told them what the mechanic found and handed over the report. Not even an apology...nothing. Just wasted $200 on a PPI and left feeling pretty bitter about the way the dealer treated us. Buyer beware.

BUYER BEWARE: "CarMax Certified" Truck Failed in Hours, Leaving Me Out $27k Cash…read more I purchased a "CarMax Certified" 2022 Nissan Frontier (48,000 miles | VIN: 1N6ED1EKXNN614393) from the Clackamas location for over $27k IN CASH, expecting a reliable vehicle for my family and business. Our salesperson, Ian, was professional and great to work with, but the confidence ended less than two hours later. While driving home over the Oregon Coast Range with my 7-year-old daughter, the transmission began slipping, hesitating, and violently jerking forward at highway speeds. A local mechanic inspected it, and Nissan later confirmed a major transmission failure. Worse, Nissan found clear evidence that the transmission had been previously tampered with, removing the factory warranty coverage and throwing responsibility entirely back onto CarMax. The Corporate Runaround: Instead of standing behind their "certified" vehicle, CarMax has subjected me to a week of exhausting escalation and dodging: Service Manager John (Beaverton): Has held the truck for 6 days without providing a diagnosis. He doesn't return calls, ignores Nissan's service department, and literally laughed at the mechanical failure. Operations Manager Elliot: Recited a rigid corporate script to explain why he won't help. General Manager Eugene (Clackamas):Friendly enough, but completely lacks the authority to resolve the issue. The "Solutions" Offered: CarMax has verbally offered completely unacceptable options, refusing to put any of their extensions or promises in writing: 1. A sketchy repair: Forcing me to accept a truck with a known history of tampering, zero Nissan powertrain warranty, and a used/rebuilt LKQ transmission (which Nissan mechanics advised is a dangerous long-term solution). CarMax refused to include a MaxCare warranty to offset this massive risk. 2. An indefinite replacement search:Waiting forever for them to source a truck from across the country, while expecting *me* to pay the shipping costs for their failure. They refuse to do a fair price exchange for comparable trucks already available locally. 3. The Refund Trap: They told me it will take up to 10 days just to get my cash back. The Bottom Line: Vehicles break, but the way CarMax handles it is the real nightmare. Because they are holding onto my $27,000 cash for over a week, I am physically trapped without transportation and completely blocked from buying a reasonable replacement vehicle elsewhere. They gave me a small SUV rental that doesn't fit my business needs, meaning I am actively losing work income every single day while they sit on my money. My Advice: Do not trust Carmax. I thought I bought peace of mind; instead, I bought a $27k project, a week-long fight, and a complete loss of my transportation and livelihood.

I'm sure the owner thought we did not trust him or that I worked for the CIA and had an incredible amount of classified data on my media console.JK we were hurried and after a mini attempt to master "The unlocking of valet mode" I surrendered defeat and vowed to unlock it after it was detailed. The following day I picked up my car. I pulled out my owners manual to research valet mode. After an exhaustive futile search I admitted my powerlessness and called the dealer. They told me to call the general GMC customer support. As I am making calls I'm simultaneously trying to google my way into a code breaking revelation!
