5 stars for friendly and helpful customer service! My two children and I went looking for a kids' Hydro Flask in a certain color this morning. They didn't seem to have any on display so I asked if it would be coming back in stock again. The employee asked if I wanted him to check the other locations and he found them in stock at the Pearlridge store and gave me the option of having them hold it there for me or having it delivered to the Ala Moana store for pickup. The phone call to the Pearlridge store took a little longer that we expected but he was apologetic about the wait and came back to us with multiple updates while he was also waiting on the phone. In hindsight, I wish I would have asked for him name to give him a proper thank you here on Yelp but I'm sure he'll know who he is if he sees this. Thank you for your help today. This has been my go-to shop to buy T-shirts and shorts for years. Living on Maui, I can't get T&C apparel here, so I usually buy at least three or four T-shirts on every Oahu trip, especially when there's usually some kind of sale on them, like buy one, get on 50% off. This last trip, we ended up with four T-shirts, a pair of shorts, a pair of slippers, and three Hydroflasks, two with the exclusive T&C designs on them. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews regarding customer service, as I've found the T&C employees very friendly and helpful when I need to try something on. Usually employees could care less about helping a phone customer, I was SO shocked with his knowledge and help and asked if he was the manager. He said "No" but no problem helping. Excellent customer service! Had to bring back a Hydroflask I had purchased during my vacation to Hawaii earlier last year due to chipping of the design. The item had been back ordered and they offered to ship it to my house on the mainland once they received more in store. They took down my information, and a little over a month later, I received the new Hydroflask in the mail. I'm glad my issue wasn't forgotten about throughout the craziness of the holiday season. Not only did they honor their warranty, they went above and beyond to accommodate me even though I live all the way in California. My husband received a Tshirt from family that lived in HI. He loved it so I ordered 3 more for him. The quality just wasn't there and they shrunk alot. I contacted T & C and they informed me that I ordered the jersey T and not the regular fit T. The only difference in the description was the weight of the tshirt that I never even thought to look at. Both were same material and said pre shrunk. But they shrunk so much we gave 3 tshirts away to a friend. Be very careful when ordering get the regular fir tshirt and hope it doesn't shrink and these are not cheap t shirts. I spent $80 plus and recieved an inferior product. They did not care that I was very dissatisfied and will never order again. They just told me I ordered the wrong t shirt. Really ? Buyer beware read more

This t and c location is really good. They always greet you at the door and the workers are constantly folding clothes, making the displays nice or asking you if u need help. This is probably the official (or unofficial for all I know) store for Town & Country Surf Shop and hands down offers the best selection when it comes to the chain. I have been thoroughly impressed by not only the selection, but the service too, and the prices are quite reasonable too! Located on the third floor near the Sears end, it's quite convenient to just grab and go with parking on the third floor. The store is attractive and offers a great selection of apparel and surf/swimwear/skate gear. Let's face it, the T&C logo shirts are a great gift! On the downside, come holiday season (such as the time when this review is being written), the selection can be a little thin for the popular items so you might be better served by some of the smaller locations! read more

It's not often one would write a review on a retail store, let alone one in Ala Moana Shopping center. But after one quick (somewhat rushed) errand at the T&C Surf Shop in Ala Moana, I walked out feeling extremely impressed with the service I received. I was on the hunt for some fins, not for surfing but for diving for underwater/surf photography so I needed something with functionality and comfort. I roamed through other surf shops in the mall, striking up conversation with the sales clerks to make the best decision on a purchase. T&C was my last stop, and I immediately felt impressed by the large amount of fins they had in stock and on top of that, they actually had my size! (I'm a small girl, so finding something of my size is always a struggle.) I normally don't like being constantly asked if I need help while shopping, and I was in a rush that day so I just wanted to quickly choose a fin and head out. But Kekai (one of the sales clerks) swooped in with ease and seriously helped me beyond what I was looking for! He knew the right questions to ask to get a better understanding on what I was looking for vs. what I needed. On top of that, he brought out Lester, one of the other sales clerks, to talk more about and give me tips on underwater/surf photography. I came back a second time to find a leash for my underwater camera, and again walked out with such great service from Lester. Lester truly went above and beyond with his help. It was also a busy day in the store so I appreciated that he took his time to really help me out as opposed to rushing me to get the sale. Lester & Kekai did such a great job with helping me find the best gear versus just trying to make a sale. You don't get that very often in retail, nor do you find very many sales clerks that actually know their products. Thanks to you both for your time and your kokua! Product wise, the store is top notch... Customer service wise, they need work.. Every time I go in there, all the workers are bunched up talking about something and not doing their jobs. They do greet in a timely matter but that's about it... I guess that's what happens when you hire a lot of young adults just starting in the work force. Went on a little shopping for Memorial Day and the BF needed new slippers... so we headed to T&C which is usually his go to spot since they have a large variety. Variety... indeed. Reef, Volcom, Quiksilver, Oneil, Rip Curl... and I can't remember the rest. He found a nice but simple pair of black Volcom slippers for $20! Very reasonably priced. They also sell an array of other items for both men and women: shorts, swim suits, board shorts, t shirts, tank tops, collar shirts, sandals, sunglasses, skate boards, surf boards, back packs, bags, etc... Staff was nice. No one helped us while we shopped... and we didn't get a greeting up entering or a "hey how's it going"... but the guy and girl who checked us out at the register were both super nice. For my daughter's birthday, she wanted a Nixon watch. Walked into several stores... Either they had a small selection or no selection at all. Walked into T&C and they had the largest selection of watches. We were greeted right away by a young gentleman. He helped my daughter pick out her watch. She chose the gold one. He directed us to the cashier and also told us that we can get it fitted! Perfect! The cashier rang us up and in a monotone voice, told us that we cannot return it once we get it sized. Okay... That's understandable. She gave me my receipt and again in a monotone voice told me to, 'sign here'. She gave me my receipt and told my daughter to wait on the side for someone to fit her. While waiting, I observed a young gentleman purchasing a shirt. All of a sudden, her voice had many tones and thanked him for purchasing his one t-shirt. The person who fitted my daughter's watch was excellent. Very patient, very careful and ensured she was happy with the fit. I told her that make sure it fits because 'we can't return it'! He said that if she finds that the watch is too lose or too tight, she can always bring it back for an adjustment! Great! I would have given 5 stars, but was disappointed with the cashier. read more

I like the fact that there is 2-3 familiar faces, and also helpful, but people........ 2-3 veterans DOES NOT make the experience great!!! I had such a great experience with T&C through yelp that I just had to write a review. I was looking for something in particular at T&C and inquired about it through yelp. T&C's customer service is outstanding!!! Lani who works at the office/warehouse responded so quickly!!! They did not have what I was looking for in stock but she said there was a shipment of it coming in very soon. Sooo, the very next day Lani messaged me back to tell me that the shipment came in! So I called the Ala Moana store and sure enough it came in and I was able to put the items on hold just like that. Such awesome customer service! I love this T&C. They are very helpful. Greeted me at the door upon entrance and made sure you had a good experience at the place. Great selection of Hurley shirts and RVCA shirts. Store is a little small but full of great sales and clothes on brands such as Hurley, RVCA, and Volcom. Definitely want to come back here. They even have a different selection of Hurley clothes that are different from other T&C on the island. read more

First of all everyone knows T&C is the place to go for all your local brands and beach clothes. What I would like to say is that they've done an amazing job during this stupid pandemic. They limit the customers in the store, give you hand sanitizer upon entering, the staff all wear masks, and of course they are all super friendly and helpful. This is the Ala Moana location. Currently the mall is dead due to a lack of tourists - which is all the stores at this mall seem to care about. Most stores were closed for the day, close way early, haven't reopened or just went out of business here. The place is a ghost town. It is nice to see a company care enough about the few tourists and locals that still go out to the malls. The staff all genuinely care about their customers and it seems like T&C is the only store in the mall to care about the kama'aina. Although they didn't have everything I was looking for - I got some good deals on their branded t shirts. I went to the other "local" surf shops - but they were all closed or closing - and it's obvious they don't care about or need business from the locals. So please steer clear of the other surf shops and take your business to the only store that truly cares about the locals. read more

Went in the day before Christmas Eve and bought a penny board (the big one) and a trick skateboard for my boys and spent over $300. The promo for the penny board was a free hat. They said it was all out. Well they should've compensated it with something else even tho they had the promo offer sign. No sticker or anything. Went to HIC in mililani bought another penny board and a skateboard they also had a promo for the free penny hat plus they had 20% off in the penny board and they gave us a penny custom sticker for the board. Town & Country at Ala Moana Center just had their grand opening today after renovating. It was pretty hard to miss. While my wife was shopping next door, I heard some music playing with a good beat, and discovered two women go-go dancing in the window of this store. So, my daughter and I decided to go in and see what the deal was. A DJ was set up playing some dance music and the selection of stuff was impressive. Lots of clothes, including surf shorts, t-shirts, and of course surf boards and body boards. My daughter's been needing a new pair of fins for body boarding ever since some "floatable" ones sank to the bottom of the ocean about a month ago. We went to the back of the store, and a friendly, helpful man helped her pick out a pair of "Kicks" that were pink and just about perfect for her. Since they were a bit loose, we bought her a pair of water socks, and then they fit perfectly. Since they were celebrating their grand opening, she got to play a little game where she won a wrist band and a bandanna. A bonus was that one of the sales counselors had been my daughter's after school care teacher, and my daughter was very excited to see her. My daughter was so happy with the experience; I got to be "hero" for the day! Now, we pray for the summer swell! read more

I think t&c is a great store I shop there every two weeks there costumer service is great, but yesterday 2-11-2014 I walked into the store with my girlfriend to look for a hat, as I was walking back I noticed a hat on the clothing rack which I did not know it was another customers I thought it was just there so I picked the hat up and the customer got mad a and said ooh this is mine go in the back and grab your own I politely apologized cause I did not know it was his. The guy then raised his voice and snapped at me at the most worst case I did not know the guy he was talking to was a worker and all the worker did was stand there and laugh he was wearing a red jacket with if I'm not mistaken a black shorts. I don't think I'd like to shop here if workers isn't going to do something if something like this happens again. read more
