Great veggie burger!!! Has a good Irish neighborhood pub vibe and you may even catch some nationals if you hang around long enough ;)

Stopped in for a beverage on a hot day because we had some time to kill before a concert. Bar was clean, staff was nice. I asked if they could make a spicy margarita and the bartender said he wasn't able to because they didn't have the right ingredients, but was told they could make a regular margarita. Got my drink and it was not good at all. It also took while, as I don't think he knew what he was doing or how to make it. My husband got one of the cocktails off their menu that had tequila in it and it was good. Very refreshing. Not too sure yet if I'll return.

I feel compelled to state that I generally despise pubs, so I'm more surprised than anybody to find that I actually LOVE T.C. O'Leary's! I came here to see a jazz guitarist and singer perform, and was seated at the tiny two-top table immediately in front of the performing area. This made for a very enjoyable show. The interior is very charming, and feels immediately comforting and "homey". There are few non-alcoholic beverages on offer, consisting of CBD beverages (not interested) and a few non-alcoholic beers. I opted for the latter, and an order of fish and chips. The bartender who took my order and delivered it to my table was extremely friendly and helpful. The fish and chips come in a cone, with the fish on top. The bartender recommended that I take the cone off of the plate, put the fish on the plate, and eat it that way. I'm happy for the recommendation as I'd probably not have thought of that, and it made eating it far easier. The fish and chips were served piping hot, crispy, and deliciously flavorful. Between musician's sets, the owner (Tom O'Leary) plays music over the house speakers, and plays some AMAZINGLY great stuff (I'd never heard Inspiral Carpets in any public establishment anywhere until I came here). I've never been to a pub in Ireland, but if this is what they're like, I TOTALLY get the appeal! T.C. O'Leary's is an awesome pub, and I'm really looking forward to my next visit.

It's definitely an Irish bar. There was a band playing Irish folk music when I came in. The group looked like a meetup group. If you're looking for an Irish pub ambiance, you'll definitely find it here. Much more intimate than Kells or Thirsty Lions.

I've been coming here for a few years and love this place! Everyone is so friendly, and the food is delicious. My friends and I come for their Irish NYE event which is just so much fun. They also host lots of other cool events. Be sure to look at the neat art they have especially "Phatasmagorical Ireland".

Stopped in on a Mon eve. Live music at 8 we heard but we were too tired to stay for it. Order at the bar for cocktails and food. Tell them your table number. We just stayed for one round of drinks...all were very good. Our table had a martini, old fashioned, lemon drop, and butter rum. Also shared the Guinness brownie with ice cream. The brownie was amazing. Not dry, sweet, perfect. Nice spot to dip in for a bit. Friendly environment!

Felt safer here than anywhere I've been (other than home) since the pandemic. You only get inside with proof of vaccination- and THAT is how you take care of your patrons (and staff!) Not to mention fantastic music, authentic fish and chips, great dessert, huge Whisky wall.... Can't go wrong. Glad we came here for the Solstice. And we'll be back. Because they care.

    Raw in the middle...

My boyfriend picked up a dry burger for me on his way home yesterday at around 4:30. This is definitely NOT medium, it was so raw in the middle that the guy who eats everything, my boyfriend, wouldn't even touch it. I called and left a polite voicemail and still haven't heard back... Edit for update: Heard back and the customer service was above and beyond! Our remade burgers were so good we ate them too fast to get a picture! Highly recommend them!

From fish and chips to sausage rolls to Irish stew, it's a rustic Irish Pub that does itself proud every day. Speaking of the fish and chips: They are to die for. The batter is crisp, and the fish is light and tender. The tartar sauce is not cloyingly sweet, and compliments the fish nicely. The fries are delicious as well, and they stay crisp through the meal. in the past, I have had the Reuben, the Sausage roll, and the Irish Stew among others. I recommend them all. Stop by, you will enjoy the rustic atmosphere and the excellent service. Be sure to ask them why there are dollar on the ceiling.

I want to say it's on par with the better Northwest offerings like the Irish Heather in Vancouver, The Irish Times in Victoria, or Murphy's in Seattle. But I can't. Because every time I'm here I'm just reminded of all the things it isn't. The menu looks somewhat right on paper, but it's little things like the spice and bake on the sausage rolls, the fact that they won't give you curry and chips without ordering the whole chicken entree ordeal, the somewhat dry and mealy burger. Then there are the drinks: There's a Guinness on, but the Magners is in the bottle. And then there's the whole brewpub element that was introduced a few years ago that baffles me. There are so many breweries in town, and so many quality Irish breweries, that I have no idea why you'd brew a middling beer lineup of your own AND make an Irish stout and red, of all things. But the most disappointing part of The Kells is that it's all the worst parts of the pubs in cities I just mentioned without containing any of their finer points. Stripped of history, taplist, menu, and other comforts, it's just a place where suburbanites come into the city, get loud for a few hours, pay their few quid, and leave without doing much else in the area. Compared to the Leaky Roof, T.C. O'Leary's or the city's English pubs like the Rose and Thistle or Moon and Sixpence, The Kells seems detatched and at arm's length from anything. that might resemble a community. I've heard they've done (double-decker English) buses to Timbers and Thorns matches, and I hear they're basically propping up the city's St. Patrick's Day festivities, but there's something artificial to it. It's a shame. I know the founders came from Belfast and I know the family is still very much involved, but although the staff is always pleasant when I come in, there's very little about the place that makes me want to return. It doesn't repel me, but a pub should draw me in more than this one does.

My wife and I ordered two drinks sitting at the bar (one for her and one for me). He then proceeded to take orders for people who showed up at the well and at the bar after us. Both of these people got their drinks BEFORE us. I thought this was odd but didn't make a big deal of it as we come her very often and I love the regular bartenders (not this kid). We wait for 10 minutes or so as he makes the people that showed up after us drinks and the waiters/tables orders drinks. Odd but not the worst. I order a espolon tequila and soda tall. It comes and I drink it within 10-15 minutes as we're in a rush to see a movie in an hour and I like to have a few drinks before pizza and a movie at Hollywood. After waiting so long for the first drink and him taking care of two people that ordered after us BEFORE US, I asked if I could get two drinks for my next round (I've done this literally 60 times at least at this bar with no issues as it's often packed and we're in a rush to catch a movie every-time we go and the bartenders are always super understanding of time constraints catching movies next door). He says "who's the other drink for???" I'm in my 40s and was dead sober/only had the previous drink all day. I say, "myself... I just figured I'd order two because I can see you're pretty slammed and we need to catch a movie soon". He says "I can't do two drinks but I can do a DOUBLE"!! So let me get this straight.... I can't get TWO watered down drinks but I CAN get ONE very stiff DOUBLE drink!!! I get this kid is likely 25, but saying I can't get two drinks but can get a double makes literal zero sense. He probably is very new to the service industry but doubles are far more intense than giving someone two tall drinks (I have dozens of friends around the world that own bars and doubles are always 10x more of a red flag). Just being confrontational for zero reason when every other time we've been here they are always super understanding to all the movie goers short schedule. I say, "I'll just do an another regular/single tequila soda..." I finish my second drink after being there for 30 minutes (I know because I literally checked my watch when we walked in as the movie was starting shortly and I'm very punctual). I try to order my third and final drink and he tells my wife I'm cut off. I've been going to bars all over the world at least 4/5 days a week for the last 20 years and NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE BEEN CUT OFF. I was dead ass sober. This man-child told me that he wasn't comfortable giving me a 3rd drink after 30 minutes of us being there and after I told him we're in a rush to catch a movie. I don't understand this awful customer service at an IRISH BAR. I'm first gen IRISH and drinking two x alcohol and soda (tall so very watered down) drinks in 30 minutes is not uncommon anywhere. I wasn't being confrontational and still tipped this idiot when anyone in my shoes wouldn't have (ps I usually tip 40% at bars and tipped him 10% due to his asshole demeanor). F him and until he leaves I'm not coming back. All the female bartenders here treat the regulars like family which is why my wife and I have been coming here for almost a decade. Hope ownership sees this. This gen z puritanical power tripping dork needs to go.
