I really had high hopes for this place cause I heard nothing but good thing but for $26 I feel like it was not worth it. I had the fried garlic shrimp I wish it was seasoned better with a sauce on top. I also wanted to try the Duval ribs but they were overcooked and hard to chew. I like my ribs, melting in my mouth & fall off the bone. Cashier was super sweet, but the food was cooked to order so I did take a while.

Out the gate I really like the branding for this spot. They have awesome merch that you can buy at the front counter. The building itself is a bit lowkey but they have tons of seating inside. When it comes to the food, I wasn't necessarily blown out of the water. The wings and fries were super greasy (which some people like), and the oil tasted a bit old...They do have a huge menu though and maybe I just need to explore more. I really wanted to love the food and have considered going back to see if I caught them on a bad day. Overall I think this place has great potential

I stopped in with a friend last week. You order at the window then find a seat. When your order is ready they will call your name and you go back to the window and pick it up. I ordered five naked wings with the southern fried baptist sauce. It had a slight kick which I liked. It reminded me of buffalo sauce. The wings were fresh, hot and crispy. And the potato salad was amazing! I wanted to buy a tub and take it home LOL. The service was friendly and the cashier was helpful as it was our first time. And there were so many different ways you could order the wings. Thankfully she broke it down for us. We also have the fried hard boiled eggs. They were lightly breaded and yummy. An unexpected treat. If you have a taste for wings, I suggest stopping by and giving them a try.

Portions are very generous! This is my leftovers and I am Stuffed!!! T.H.C. Wings

First impression ratings: 1. Expected delivery arrival time - on time/early 2. Portions - Very Generous. I have enough leftover for 2 to 3 small meals 3. Flavor, Cook, texture: 3A - Wings (Southern Baptist fried chicken) - ON POINT!!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT THE FRONT AND BACK DOOR!!!!! Those wings are another level! Flavor , juicy and tenderness , Crispy outside tender juicy inside!!! Very Meaty RATING: 13 out of 10 3B - Fried Ribs (Cookout) - flavor is good , cook and texture fell short . They were way overcooked. RATING: 6 out of 10 3C - 3pc Lumpia (2 Chicken & 1 Pork) - the lumpia would have been better had it not been served in the Styrofoam container that makes it very soggy. Tip: Fried food preserves better by placing in paper bags when considering takeout or delivery 3D - Potato wedges - same as 3C above when it comes to texture. Soggy due to the container. The fries appear to have been cooked in old grease. Also appears the grease was not hot enough due to the amount of oil the wedges absorbed RATING: 4 out of 10 OVERALL RATING: 7.5 out of 10 I'll definitely be back for those wings!!!!!!

These. Wings. Are. Fire!!!! I've been wanting to try these wings based on the reviews and you guys aren't lying. That Kamikaze hit the spot for me. We also ordered the Loud Lemon Pepper and the Acapulco Gold and those wings were so dang good. I'm very entertained by the description of how these wings taste.. I can certainly say the menu was very amusing! Don't wait and stop by today! You won't regret it!

The food was really good. I had the Kamikaze wings breaded. Low spice level. I really liked it. I think their wings are better than Island Wings and Wingstop. Oh potato salad was good too. I'll definitely be back

Wow, the meal I had here was delicious. The service (to go) was not hurried or rushed, making sure I ordered it exactly how I wanted. First off, this has been in my radar for some time, but I am rarely on this side of town. So today, I actually pulled off the road to get directions, because I knew it was nearby. When I called my order in, the person on the phone was so pleasant and helpful, explaining all my options and included her recommendations. My son was leaving work to come help me, so I thought the least I could do was buy him lunch. Me: Hey, we are trying a new place for lunch today. Son: Cool, where are you picking up from? Me: Trap House Chicken. Son: Yeah, I have been there a few times. Me: Oh. (Guess I lost seriously cool dad points on this one) But the food: Southern Fried Baptist Wings - so crispy outside, but tender inside. Maybe some of the best wings I have ever had. Southern Sweet Wings - very close to the Baptist, so so good. Waffles - thin, light, drenched in butter, syrup and some garlic. Really created a sweet and savory flavor. The food is so good I almost went there for dinner. It was hard for me to find, so look for the Taco Bell and it is behind that. They share parking, so just pull right in. Ambiance is not date night, unless your date lives good food. So wish it was closer to my work or home.

Wedges with rib meat (was supposed to be chicken) so overcooked and tough. I was so disappointed ...

    Porkchop sandwich, potato wedges

I first went here in 2022 and was amazed at the large selection of food items this place has. I decided to order a porkchop sandwich and potato wedges. The porkchop was fried very well and juicy. The potato wedges were very good as well. The service here is average, but they bring the food out on time and hot as well. The ambiance of this location is regular, but it does have a soulful feel to it as well. Parking is no issue, as there is plenty of parking. I will return here again to try their fried ribs next time around.

Visiting from out of town and stumbled on THC - some of the best wings we've had in a long time. We ordered the THC Garlic wings (breaded/floured) and the Foxy Brown Oxtail flavored wings. We also came back three hours later and ordered The Southern Fried Baptist and Sweet Southern Fried Baptist wings, so good! The staff are super friendly and there's also a nice little dining area. The food does take a little while to make, but that's because everything is made fresh to order. They make it super easy to order ahead over the phone or online. If you're in the area definitely check them out!! They're directly behind the Taco Bell and 2 minutes down the road from Jacksonville University.

They're located at 1529 University Blvd North, so not all that far from us, which is great. This review originally appeared in the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group. We stopped in here once before, many years ago. The reason for only stopping in once was because they allowed smoking, which I can deal with to an extent but it was like walking into a wall of smoke back then. I saw on their IG account that they've made a bunch of improvements both to the bar itself and the menu. So I figured we'd give try again. I'll get this part out of the way early: they're still a smoking bar BUT our experience today was FAR different than it was a few years ago. I'd read about how they installed a bunch of new filters and so on. So I thought "if nothing else, we'll walk in with good intentions. If a wall of smoke hits us, we'll make a u-turn and go elsewhere". I was happy when we got there and there was no smoke wall. There was faint smell of smoke but it wasn't bad at all. So whatever they did / are doing is working IMO. I don't know if they had food back when we stopped by years ago but I can tell you they have great burgers now. They had a deal going today where all the burgers were buy one, get one half off. We started with Jalapeño Poppers, then I picked the Bagger (mushroom & swiss) burger with tots and my wife chose the Dyna (the standard cheeseburger) with waffle fries. The poppers were standard but good. The bartender suggested the Sweet Chili sauce to go with it. Sweet Chili sauce isn't my thing but it's definitely my wife's thing. She said "I would eat this with a spoon" lol. So for her, the sauce elevated the poppers to above standard. The burgers were pretty great, in both of our opinions! I'm a pretty slow eater for one reason or another and my wife pointed out that she's never seen my eat a burger as fast as I ate that one. So I'd say that's my taste buds telling me I thought it was great. I judge my wife's thoughts on burgers by how many times she tells me she likes it with her mouth full while eating it. That happened about 4 times today lol. We (she) had fun with bingo while we were there even though she didn't hit a bingo. She came close a few times and had fun, which was the distraction we were looking for. The bartender and cook are both worth a mention in this post. Jen was the bartender but she was really all over the place, taking care of the people at the bar along with us and others at tables. She was really nice while doing that, too. Tammy was the cook. We met her because she came out to ask how the burgers were and really seemed to care about the feedback and the fact that people enjoy what she's making. I'm glad we stopped by again. As I said, I totally understand how/why a place that allows smoking isn't for many folks. That's why I'm dropping 4 stars instead of 5. However, my wife went from saying "well I guess we'll never go in there again" several years ago to saying things like "the next time we come here" during today's visit. So if you can tolerate a low amount like her, you may want to try stopping in to see what you think.

The staff were friendly but super busy due to inside volume of people. The food looks good and the steak was cooked fine, but the chimichurri had too much oil & fries were super salty. They just said they would tell the kitchen but didn't offer anything and so I didn't eat the fries at all. This plate being $38 before tax, I mean you want good fries....For the drink I got one of their mocktails which honestly was not up to par at all tasting like water and cucumber and nothing else, and I ended up ordering a soda... Again staff are friendly, but if management could pay attention a little more even when they're busy, it would help a lot, especially if someone is not happy with their food. I will not try this place again for a while as there are other places better than this that have similar dishes. Again when people are eating alone or in a group, make them happy with the food please...
