I shop in this store all the time! Sometimes 4 to 5x a week. Its close to my work and i love killing time in here, until today! I was followed around by im assuming there security. This is definitely a hot mess. Some parts of the store are clean and organized and others a disaster. The line to check out is slow and reminds me of Ross at Christmas. The disorganization for me was too much for me. I did find a few cute holiday items, but don't think this location will be a stop I make again. Service was ok, but nothing over the top. I know that sounds odd, but their name brand socks are inexpensive and there's always something in stock. Needless to say, I'm not exactly needing assistance. I know where the socks are. I hate shopping here and only go here when I need to. After tonight, I'll definitely continue to stay away. You can't even walk in without customers just crowding around at the front and not moving but instead stare at you as if you're in the wrong. This location is always so crowded with people EVERY time you go. And like stated, they are the rudest customers and refuse to move for on coming traffic but instead stand in the walk way. Always have expired makeup and skin care which is absolutely disgusting. We came in for the Halloween stuff (yes I know it's early I don't care) and they had none out. Bummer. I instead found a nice office chair that I decided to buy. Only problem, there was no price tag. We go up to the check out and our cashier is super nice and helpful. I tell her there's no price tag on it and she said she'll get someone over to help since she can't leave behind the register. Della however, the woman that 'helped' was unbelievably rude and grouchy; not only to me but even towards the cashier. The cashier had to call for her 4 DIFFERENT TIMES before FINALLY getting her attention. She made eye contact with me the whole time and just decided to not come help until our cashier got on the walkie and told her to come over. They found the sku code on the bottom of the chair and Della was little to no help with my cashier reading it off to her since they couldn't keep it upside down on the counter. My poor cashier had to ask her 3 TIMES what they numbers were because Della was trying to put the chair down and walk away to go stand in the corner! How disrespectful to us the customers but more importantly, the cashier who's actually working! She didn't even say anything to us or the cashier after walking away to the corner to just stand there. I paid and as we were leaving, she stared at us and said nothing. No have a good day or anything. She needs an attitude check and I will not be coming back. Just left your store on 76ave and Bell road in Glendale, Az the arrowhead area. I want to ensure you receive my complaint for tonight. Lisa Theo Manager on duty displayed what would be opposite of exceptional service, it was extremely unsatisfying experience. I shopped at your Seattle, Wa location and the size was wrong from the hanger. I personally made that mistake and asked the manager in Seattle if I had any issues with the jacket, could I return to any Tj Maxx, he said yes, therefore, I felt at ease. Brought the jacket home and it was the wrong size and had the wife try it on to see if maybe we can compromise and make it work, unfortunately it was too big. So, I went to my hometown Tj Maxx that I spend a quite a bit of revenue at and couldn't believe the amount of hassle that was involved. First, one cashier looked over the jacket and stated that it wasn't the same North Face jacket in the system, rather it should of came with something additional. I then ask why, he then stated he made a mistake because he didn't read the gun right. After that, final approval process, here comes Lisa Theo, no hi no greeting questioned that she doesn't see North Face in her store. I respectfully and politely stated that I purchased it in Seattle. Then she questioned that Tj Maxx doesn't carry this item in her store, I rebuttle and told her that the stuff the store caries varies by regions because I do quite a bit of traveling and shop for my family in other states because ARIZONA may not carry it. She argues with me surprisingly and then inspects the jacket and questions that it contained a small smudge on it and question that it was used and so forth. I told her I'll be happy to clean that smalls portion off but does not compromise the product whatsoever. She then continues to argue in front of her staff and customers (leadership opportunities for sure) to me. Ultimately, I received my refund that I had to work hard to get, unbelievable!! Her staff apologized prefusely in her behalf because she was so rude!! This one seemed cleaner and more organized than the others. I did not find what I was looking for as they had very limited stock on the items I needed so I did not purchase anything. The aisles were wide and I did not find clothes and trash, or dirty diapers on the floor which is often the case when shopping at some of these discount stores. I would go back and window shop again. No sales people on the floor though. AZ has an employee shortage issue. Not the stores fault but that could be a negative if you need help. read more

For what it is, I love TJ Maxx! I hate paying full price and love kitchen gadgets so this is a great place for me. I'm also a big guy so a quick look through the xxl section can sometimes uncover some nice stuff, even though supply is limited. They are always cool with returns. They also recently updated the bathrooms and dressing rooms. No big deal, but they are pretty darn nice and the store is always clean. Happy bargain hunting. read more

BEWARE!! Terrible customer service from the "Manager on Duty" of all people. I won't bore anyone by going into the small details, but let's just say they lost my, my wife's, our adult son & daughter's patronage. I have been going to this TJ Maxx for so long and have spent so much money there and will never go back again. I will drive all the way to the one on Happy Valley because the customer service at this location is absolutely ridiculous. As my mother and i were shopping for a wallet, an older female by the name of Mary Ann approached us and was just standing there watching us look through the wallets. My mother called her out stating that we weren't going to steal anything and she didn't need to disrespect us by watching out every move. And she goes "well you never know" HOW RUDE IS THAT?!?! A few days ago I stopped into this store to look for a pair of taharti sunglasses, and these pink and rose gold glitter pens they had at another location. I was not close to home, but was in the area for a doctors appointment close by. So when I arrived I was excited to shop a new Tj maxx with a home goods (not all tj maxx carry home goods such as furniture, a large selection of hanging large rugs, tons of giant candle holders (which I collect). anyway, recently I'd put on a lot of weight and didn't want to buy very much clothing, especially because the weight was due to something that wasn't going to be permanent. First, this older Asian woman kept pestering me to get a tj maxx debit card, and when I pestering, and there is no exaggeration when o say PESTERING me to get a tj maxx card. She must have asked me 7 times, and Rudely interrupted a phone call. I was in the store for 2 hours because I'd come with my mom and she left to get my prescription and some food. I spent over 100$, which is on the low end when I go to other TJ Max's, AND I was in the first dressing room and could over hear the staff talking about me. That I'd been in the dressing room for a while, three Items disappeared out of my basket while I was in there and there was two empty boxes- one was a make up brush on sale for 5.00- which why would I spend over 100$ and steal a make up brush out of my own cart, leaving the empty box there while I went to try on clothes. I shouldn't have to explain myself, but I was in the dressing room CRYING because in two months I'd went up 6 sizes. When I left my mom asked me "why are they whispering about you and watching you like you took something" I walked over to the front desk infuriated because if anyone took something it was OUT OF MY OWN CART WHILE I WAS IN THE DRESSING ROOM! and went off- saying I spent two hours in there (the store not the dressing room that was about half hour) because I couldn't leave while my mother was gone, because we'd come in the same vehicle and I had left my wallet in the car so while she was gone I couldn't pay for a thing until she came back- the chatty,snobby, children were outside gossiping about their coworkers party, who was turning 18, but she had already told them all she was 18. The young Asian woman and older Asian woman who were working cosmetics were the worst. The young man was very kind, and offered to help me find the items that had been taken from my basket, but after being around this gossipy, pretentious, unprofessional atmosphere for 2 hours I'd had enough and wanted to just leave. The young woman who was the cashier was also sweet but could also have been one of the gossipy females talking about their coworker. I will NOT be returning to this location, and I hope the manager gets this and has a chat with these immature, unprofessional employees or better yet, children, about gossiping about coworkers especially within a customers earshot, and I can't even repeat what they said about her.. something about a kitty bath bomb as a gift because she is such a pu**y. Absolutely something A costumer should NEVER hear. And should never be said about a coworker. Definitely grounds for a sexual harassment case. I can spent hours in this store! I never really appreciated it until I moved closer to the Arrowhead area. I love all the assortments of decor that are the same as HomeGoods (I realize they are part of the same company). I never have a problem here customer service wise. The other day I was at a grocery store buying Macadamian milk for over $5 a box. Oddly enough, I found the same brand of Macadamian milk here for only $2.99! It's sad to say that this place have no customer service at all. I manage a retail store myself, so I know a thing or two about giving customers the experience and making them feel welcome and I teach my team to do the same. When I go to a store as a customer myself, I'd expect to feel welcome. I know how hard associates work so as a customer I go out of my way to say hi to associates even if they don't say hi first and they always say hi back to me and it makes them feel good about their job to hear a customer say hi how are you without needing their help because that's the kind of human I am. Well........ when I went to this location, they normally have a greeter but at this time of hour they didn't, which was ok to me, I walked around and I came across two associates who walked next to me and I just gave them a simple HI and they looked at me and kept walking without responding. That should never be the response when customers are trying to come off nice such as myself to give them a simple hello in hopes to make their day a little better. I know they heard me because I'm very firm with my voice. It's just sad that this store does not care to give the experience throughout the store rather than the front greeter and cashier. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I went in looking for essential oils (it was only me and literally three other people in the store). I asked a person on the sales floor and she said they weren't any where they normally were and suggested I go to the counter where the cash registers were. I went to the register, there were three employees behind the counter conversing about whatever. I asked about the oils and the blonde haired employee behind the counter proceeded to tell me if they weren't on the counter behind me then they were obviously out. She didn't come and look for herself, you know as an extension of customer service it's not like anyone was in the store or the phones were ringing and she wasn't busy! She also didn't tell me when they could possibly get in their next shipment, she just turned around and kept right on talking to the other employees. I would have understood her shortness is she was busy, maybe, but she wasn't. This isn't the first time I've been on the receiving end of their lack of customer service skills but it will be the last. read more

I started going into this store a few months ago, and encountered a lady named Joann asked her for a certain product, her response was the biggest lie so I just avoided her. A few weeks ago an elder lady asked her for the same product and to my surprise she told her the same exact lie she told me a few months before. A few minutes after the encounter I heard her yelling at a different customer because she had the product that she lied about to the older lady! So, a week later we over heard the store manager Joseph and the assistant manager Luzanna bad mouthing a customer! This store is so horrible with how they treat customers! Today my wife and 2 year old daughter went to the location in Peoria, AZ. She had left Nordstrom Rack 5 minutes prior and noticed an older male that followed her. After shopping in TJ Maxx she saw him waiting outside looking kind of suspicious. Just to be safe she asked the cashier and manager if she could be escorted to her car. A very nice young man named DAVID offered to help. No one made my wife feel dumb for asking or made it seem like an unreasonable request. David walked my wife and daughter out to our car ( in the 100 degree AZ heat) and even assisted in getting my daughter in the back of the car and putting her shoe back on. I just really wanted to make sure that this kind act did not go unnoticed. It may have been nothing...or it may have saved my wife and daughter from being assaulted by the stranger. We will never know but I do know that I am thankful for the staff at this location and being willing to go over and beyond the call of duty. Thank you! read more

I love shopping at all the discount retail stores especially TJ Maxx. However this location has bad customer service. I purchased a few items online and needed to return one. When I went up to the register the young girl that was helping me didn't know how to do a return from an online purchase. The lady working at the next register rudely said that I couldn't return my item without the original bag that the item was shipped in. Keep in mind I had the receipt and all tags were in tact. I told both of them that I've been able to return items in the past purchased online without any issues and no one has ever told me that I needed to keep the bag! The lady seemed like she wasn't happy with what I said and told the younger girl to call the manager which then said it would be fine and that they will take the return but I needed to remember to save the bag next time I decided to purchase any of their items online. I shop at this location frequently, but never will again, I , on more than one occasion have witnessed the employees be not particularly customer service oriented but have chosen to dismiss it. This store in particular need to evaluate the hiring process, and spend some time watching how rude the employees are to paying customers. An employee in particular decided to embarrass my children accusing them of ripping down clothing and throwing them on the floor and running around the store, she then proceeded to give me parenting advice that I need to keep better control of my children, because they are ruining her store, and she has to continually put away items they throw on the floor. My 9 year old child who was taking my 5 year old child to a drinking fountain, could have not done the amount of disruption to a store in that amount of time , and were only away from me for that short time. When my children returned I brought this to my eldest child's attention. Since they were farther from me at the time and he swears that they were not playing in the store , then began to tear up. So your store seems to feel that they should spend time scolding paying customers, this is so embarrassing for your company, my advice is to stop hiring people who refuse to be nice to your customers and start monitoring them, every time I'm at that store which was frequently I have witnessed nothing but negativity towards customers or towards other employees who work there . It just maybe in your best interest to invest in a secret shopper company to weed out your incredibly rude, unprofessional employees. I was truly irate considering I had hundreds of dollars worth of things in my cart ready to purchase for an upcoming vacation, in which I decide to no longer purchase. In January I purchased an IT suitcase from this TJ Maxx. In May, I discovered that the the support for the frame of the suitcase was never finished. The manufacturer of the luggage essentially told me to go to H..l. and wanted $25 to ship me a new suitcase under the terms of their warranty. When I contacted TJ Maxx, they agreed to refund me the purchase price if I brought the suitcase back to there store. Best deal I ever got. read more

My review is based on an employee. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. She was working around 10:00am on Tuesday the 27th. She was older and had about shouldn't length blond hair. I came in with a few items to return. I didn't have my receipt. She was immediately irritated. I remained kind the whole time and figured she just had a bad day. She said she needed to see if they were still in the system and walked away. She came back and said they weren't. I asked why they wouldn't be in the system. She said because they are years old. That's odd considering I just purchased them in Utah the end of July. (My receipts are at my cabin in Utah‍). I said ok thank you anyways and would you mind giving me some wrapping to wrap them back up. She was VERY irritated that I asked for that. I was going to wrap them up myself but she grabbed them and did it. A mail employee came up and was talking to my toddler. He was very nice. The women however needs to be trained. You can't be rude to your customers. You're in the wrong business with an attitude like that. I kind of wish I would have commented on her attitude right there so she can be aware.
