I've been getting my haircut at T K Salon for many, many years now by Kim and Natalie and have always walked away happily! I have thick, straight Asian hair. My usual style is either long layers or short A-line bob. Both stylists are friendly and listen to your requests. The last time I visited, they charged me $30 for my cut which is very reasonable in my opinion. They have 6 chairs with currently 4 stylists I believe. There is always a line of people waiting so I usually call for an appointment with Natalie. They keep the salon neat and tidy. Give them a try! I believe they also provide other salon services such as nails and waxing however I cannot comment on them. read more

I recently broke both wrists. As a result I am unable to dry, style, or do anything with my hair. I cannot even put it in a simple braid or ponytail. I called TK Salon to see if someone could braid my hair. It's only been a couple days since hair salons were given the okay to reopen after over two months closures due to Covid-19. Kim took my call, greeted me when I came inside and braided my hair. Great customer service, very clean salon, all employees wearing masks, appropriate social distancing. I have gotten my hair cut by all of them: Kim, Elaine, Cuong and the other younger lady, forgot her name. They are all great and love talking to them. Such good energy in here and always smiles and good conversations. They also manage to keep the prices relatively low. read more

Went here today after work for a haircut cause it's way too hot to have long hair. I got my hair cut by the older male... I wasn't able to catch his name. I was so nervous since I've never had a guy cut my hair before. I totally recommend him!! He listened to what I wanted and made sure I was okay with the length multiple times. I don't know why I hadn't written a review for this place, as I had been going there for at least 10 years. I moved out of the state at the end of 2018 and haven't found anyone like Natalie. I actually had her cut my hair when I was in town for a family event back in April 2019 and haven't gotten my hair cut since. Natalie is friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I never made an appointment to see her and the most I waited was 15 minutes. I've gotten highlights and my eyebrows done there but I mainly went there for haircuts. We have been coming to Kong and his wife for years. They are awesome at cutting everyone's hair and super affordable. They recently moved over here from their Mack Road store and nothings changed. I so appreciate being able to come and get a good haircut quickly and not breaking the bank. I love their haircuts more than I do my fancy hair salon where I get my hair color. read more

I'm surprised by all the positive reviews for this salon. Natalie cut my hair and it is the worst cut I've ever had. I pointed out 3 areas of concerns. She didn't address any of them. Instead she chopped off most of my hair when I only asked for an inch off. My hair was below my shoulders. Now it looks like a boys haircut. The other thing is it's not even anywhere and she cut it really short on the sides and longer on the top. First, I only asked her to layer one area on the side and I also told her I have a hard time getting lift on the top because I have fine limp hair. That being the case, if anything she should have cut the top and less on the sides...much less. I'm not going to have anybody try and straighten it or cut it like it should have been cut because I have so little hair left. All I can say is that I'm thankful that at least I didn't have to pay much compared to what I usually pay. It's true that you get what you pay for! read more

TK Salon is nothing fancy, but I don't need fancy. What I need is a good haircut that won't cost me an arm and a leg. I was recommended by a friend to see Natalie and I am so happy because now I don't have to drive to downtown Sacramento, where I used to get my hair done. I save gas money and the haircut is half the price! Shut up! :) Yes, my haircut costs me $16. I always leave happy. The salon is located in a small shopping center off of Laguna, near Papa Murphy's, Goodwill, and Baskin Robbins/Togo's. Parking can be tricky during the lunch hour sometimes, but there's always parking available. Service: Natalie is really personable and listens to everything you ask. Recently, I wanted to try something new instead of a regular trim for my layers. I asked her opinion about whether or not I should get bangs and she encouraged me to do so. I love them and I'm not so worried about styling them because she taught me some tricks of the trade! Woohoo. You know how oftentimes when your hair is cut and styled at the salon, it's hard to replicate it at home? Nope, easy peasy now because she showed me what to do. As mentioned before, the salon isn't anything fancy, but it's clean and everyone there is friendly. I think the magazine on hairstyles could be updated - thought they're quite hilarious to look at while waiting (which has never been more than 5 minutes if I don't make an appointment ahead of time). I haven't tried any other salon services other than a haircut and trim, but I would trust Natalie to do anything if I wanted to change things up a bit. As my friends would put it, "A+." read more

I have been coming here for years now. My daughters would get their haircut by Kim and Natalie, and I usually come here for pedicure. Even though my teen girls are happy with their haircut, I don't come here for haircut or color because I have a stylist that I have been going to for 10 years, so I stick with him. However, the other day I just had the urge to get my hair cut and really didn't feel like waiting for 2 weeks to get on my stylist's calendar, so I just called and asked Kim to cut it. Well, I must say she did a GREAT job. She only charges $16 for haircut (tip extra) vs. what I usually pay which is $45, and I got so many compliments on my haircut this time. I'll definitely return. As far as pedicure, I come here instead of other nail salons because they have the best and the most amazing massage chair. I also like how Natalie or Diane always puts a protective coat on before they put the color coat on twice, and then another protective coat. The color usually lasts a long time. Overall, I really think it's a great local hair salon, nothing fancy but great service. We are very happy with Kimberly, Natalie and Diane. We'll keep coming back. read more

I decided to give this place a try on Sunday afternoon as I was looking for a new place to try. The girl who did my nails was nice enough but I have a few complaints. They don't have a lot of options when it comes to gel nail polish. The girl just did one coat of the polish on my nails and it is already chipped on the second day. My hand smelled like alcohol and she used it on me right after she had cut some cuticles and it burned. I am not going there again to get my nails done. read more

I have lived in the Elk Grove-Laguna area for 21 years and I have been going to TK Salon before they opened their Salon in Elk Grove. The owners and stylists are all very friendly and professional. They have been cutting my entire family's hair for a very long time. I have had everything from cut, color, highlights, eyebrows, facials, manicures, pedicures and tanning. I feel very confident in their abilities and trust their opinions. Their prices are very fair. They are very conscientious about doing a great job and their goal is to make each and every customer happy. Most of the people that go to TK are regulars and they know everyone by their first name. They take appointments but drop ins are welcome. I highly recommend this place and in fact, I have told many people about it who have now become regulars! read more

Pleasantly surprised that I am the first review on here, I have been going to this same salon for over 10 years now. So there may be a little biased nature in this review as I have gone to this business since before they were located in Elk Grove. Consistency is the key. Of course I am unsure how woman's hair cuts or nails or tanning goes. But for a fade haircut this place has always worked for me.
