I called at 10:00am on Sunday for an appointment at noon. Came in and they were practicing covid 19 safety protocols, 6 feet distancing and cleaning in between clients. Had an AMAZING experience here. My daughter had her hair highlighted for the first time for a bday gift, and we went to a different salon here in Elk Grove. Well they did exactly what we asked them not to do, and gave her chunky blonde highlights. She was so upset and embarrassed. Thankfully Anna answered when I called Sunshine Salon to see if there was any way to fix it. It was a Sunday so a lot of salons aren't open, but she told us to come on over. We told her exactly how we wanted it, and she went over her plan to fix it a few times with us so we'd all be on the same page. She did wonderful, and just what we wanted from the beginning. I came in almost immediately & was paired with Julia who was probably one of the nicest girls I've ever met! I had dark virgin hair and the process of lightening it was extremely tedious and time consuming but Julia sat out the entire process with me! this salon doesn't understand instructions... turned my hair horrible. i had a reference picture (it was a natural blonde) for my hair and they totally disregarded it. my hair did not look like anywhere NEAR what i wanted (I ended up with highlights that weren't even good looking, the left side has more chunkier highlights while the other has small). i told them not to touch my roots, and they did!!! literally so rude and inconsiderate. they don't care about your hair, they just want the money. no wonder why prices here for hair are cheap- they do a shitty job. go save your money & hair and go somewhere professional. read more

All of the women here are fantastic!!! My friend and I drove around the area for a bit looking for a salon to do highlights. One salon only did blowouts and the other showed zero interest in helping us. I am SO happy i found this place!!! I don't remember all of the ladies' names, but I got my brows waxed and full highlights, while my friend got a haircut and partial highlights. WOW! First off, BEST wax I've ever had! She paid such close attention to detail and was very friendly! Ashley did my hair, with help from Linda (I think). My hair looks AMAZEBALLS! And when she washed my hair, I was in heavennnnn. Omg! It felt like a scalp massage, like how salons used to wash hair! It's a plus that they also do nails!! Anna, Cookie, and Sally were exceptionally wonderful offering me the best customer service I've received in a very long time. Started going here a few months ago because it was close to my house and Jennifer was gone. But after getting 5 or 6 hair cuts from different workers i'm not going back. i have a fairly easy hair cut but at least one of the workers just did everything really quick and was done. I immediately notice some missed hairs and a lopsided cut. But she was done took off the cape and was ready for me to pay. Don't recommend! Worst customer service. They messed up my son haircut really bad and tried to deny it. My son cried and cried as he left the salon. The hair dresser does not listen to your request. Had worst experience of my lifetime in this salon by owner Jennifer itself! I had appointment @3, arrived on time and I had to wait for 30min. When she finally came to do my pedicure I asked her to cut my nail not file. She started filing them not to mention she skipped 2 nails, and when I asked her to cut instead in filing and she got mad at me. She told me she would file and clean cuticles when she's ready to paint!!?? I finally got annoyed bcuz she had no idea what she is doing, she got up and started yelling on her own language.... Never coming back!! Horrible customer service and horrible experience!! If you want good pedicure go to Venus Nails and see Kim! She takes her time and beat at what she does!! If you're not sure what you want your hair to look like, take a picture of what you like (from a magazine or the internet), show her, and she'll work her magic. This salon sucks! I went in there showing a picture to Jennifer herself asking if she could make my hair ombré like the picture. Jennifer kept saying she could ombré my hair..after everything was done, I realized she only highlighted the crown of my head and didn't even ombré my hair AT ALL. I was upset and told her it looks NOTHING like the picture. She told me next time I come back in, she will ombré my hair just like the picture and charge me $50. After 3 months, I went back in and showed her the same picture and asked if she remembered me, she said yes she did and I said "okay well you said you would charge me $50 for this ombré remember" and she said yes she remembers but if she were to ombré my hair it would start a lot lower than the picture or else, she would charge me $100. I was like "no you specifically told me you would only charge me $50 because this is what I wanted the first time" and she said the ombré on the girl in the pic started lower than I wanted, I said "no it's not, all I told you was I wanted the ombré look she has and you said you could do it". She replied "yeah it'll be $100". I was soooooooo upset. I walked out of there. What I should have done was embarrass her in front of her other customers and yelled that she cheated me out of my money the first time. If I knew this was gonna happen, I wouldn't have tipped her $20 the first time when she messed up and didn't give me the color/look I wanted. But because she promised she would only charge me $50 next time I came in, I decided to be nice and tip $20 on a $100 color that I didn't even want. She played me and only did highlights on half of my head and ensured me next time I come in, she will correct my color to the ombré I originally wanted for $50 then when I did come back in, she cheated me and said she would charge me $100. This is poor customer service and I am so disappointed in this salon and much more on Jennifer herself. I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone I know or even strangers too. That's how bad the service is! TERRIBLE!!!!! read more
