We added a new line to our family plan, so we were able to get a pretty significant discount to all get new phones and they do let you keep your old device for 30 days. This location is doing a good job on COVID stuff - they limit people in the store and you really aren't allowed to wander around and put your plague paws on all the products. The whole transaction was quick and painless (except for the part where I had to pay for a new phone) and they didn't really try to hard sell extras. He finally priced this phone, and as I tried to explain to him the reason I wanted such a large storage amount, because the phone can take raw photos which use a tremendous amount of storage, and I do photography as a hobby, so this is important to me. But before I could say any of that, when I just said basically "want it because", he told me if I'm going to argue with him I can leave the store. When I tried to explain that I'm not arguing but trying to offer valuable information that may help with understanding customer needs or phone features, he said I already told him I want 1 TB, and if I want to say any more than that, I have to leave. I have no idea why he was so aggressive today or why he felt he shouldn't take a couple minutes to listen to his customers but rather think he knows it all, but there's too many Verizon options to waste any more time on him. I went down the store and ordered my phone from them where they listened to all my stories. I also upgraded my data plan. Do not go to this store. I asked if the phone would function on the existing 4G SIM and he said "No" and then backtracked and said "it'll be slow" Then I asked if there was wifi available to speed up activation, he comes back with a simple "don't need that", I mention "yes but it'll be faster than the 1.5Mbps on the cell in here" It just got unnecessarily tense really quickly and straight answers from Orlando were few and far between. He ended up double charging and then backtracked on the fact she couldn't register a new SIM without being the account owner. The sales person pushed and pushed him to finance it - could not take no for an answer, but my user was specific on this point. The salesperson finally agreed and sold him the phone, and transferred the ESN. Now two months later, my user sees his phone is SIM locked, so i checked the bill and the store sales person *PUT IT ON A PAYMENT PLAN for $0.36 - 1 cent per month*. The only reason for doing this is that the salespeople are pushed by their management or somehow comped when getting phones to be financed, so not only did she not do what my user said he wanted, but literally signed him (and my company) up for a payment plan for the phone. For 36 cents. This is beyond unethical and If the culture permits or incentivizes this behavior it brings into question any transaction or statement made by this 'Authorized Verizon Reseller'. This is the sort of thing you expect from extended car warranty sales people and dudes selling reverse mortgages on cable news. Oh, the other reviewer mentioning the sign in the window is spot on - a number of months ago i stopped in around 330. Sign on the door, '1pm - back in 45 minutes'. At the time thought it was a fluke, now seems about right. This clownshow of a store is a complete embarrassment to Verizons corporate brand.

I recently upgraded a new laptop, only to find that there are no ports to connect my external drives without a dongle. (Who knew what USB Type C was?) The laptop has a micro-SD slot but my camera uses a real SD card I can hold in my fingers instead of that dinky micro card that disappears in dark carpeting, not that I'd know about that or anything. I did some research and found a device that plugs into my USB Type C slot, which is also where the power supply plugs in. The magic box provides two REAL USB slots, a real SD card slot, a dinky SD card slot, and an additional pass-through Type C slot to plug in the power supply. It even has two more slots I'm hardly likely to use, an HDMI port and an RJ-45 for good, old-fashioned wired network access. (Just in case I ever stay at the Bates Motel.) Now, with all that setup, here comes the punchline. Like most magic boxes, it ain't cheap. My usual online vendor had the magic device in stock and I could have it by Friday if I ordered it on Tuesday. Just for grins, I looked online and found out that Best Buy A) had it in stock, B) had it at my local Best Buy store for pickup, and C) it was ten bucks lower priced than my usual vendor. So, I pulled the trigger. During the Covid19 debacle, my Best Buy store has the parking lot laid out for drive-up service. I got a text message that my magic box was ready for pickup. I pulled in and followed the maze to the front door where Derrick greeted me, went back in the store, and returned with the magic box. He handed it to me, thanked my for my purchase and waved goodbye. Piece o' cake! And to boot, I saved ten bucks and got my magic box on the same day! #YelpLove
