Employee involved: Harry I had a deeply upsetting and misleading experience at this T-Mobile location involving a staff member named Harry. I feel strongly that others should be warned. A year ago, a friend added me to their T-Mobile plan through this store. I was told by both the friend and Harry that I would receive a free phone and number. I clearly stated at the time that I would only accept if everything was 100% free -- no contracts, no payments, no commitments. I never signed anything, never saw a contract, and was told it was all included. Recently, after transferring my number to another carrier, I was shocked to find out that the phone was actually under a contract -- and I was being asked to pay off the remaining balance, even though the account wasn't even in my name. When I asked for an explanation, Harry insisted that I had to pay, without offering any documentation or justification. I later discovered that the phone was under the original account holder's plan, and that Harry and my friend may have deliberately misrepresented the situation to push the device cost onto me later on. To make matters worse, I was subjected to intimidation and threats, including being told I'd be reported to immigration authorities if I didn't pay up -- which is completely outrageous and unacceptable behavior. This has caused me immense stress and frustration. I've already filed complaints with T-Mobile corporate and consumer protection agencies. If you visit this store, especially if you're dealing with Harry, be extremely careful. Get everything in writing, and don't trust verbal promises. Came in 10 AM on 06/12/20 to get myself a new phone. Whoever was working front in the morning, she definitely was not happy working there. Maybe we came in early morning when the store just opened or there's COVID-19 going on and she be paranoid working but that Customer service was terrible. How are you working for Sales but you're not willing to put some effort in that service? No smiling, boring dull tone, rude. I wanted to trade in my XS for an 11. But I did have a little burn at the bottom of the phone corner. The chick that worked in the morning refused. That's fine. I was willing to buy a new phone on the spot anyways. BUT, I held my tongue went to another location instead and got everything done within 30 mins. I know there's a whole pandemic going on. I went into this T-mobile store to try to figure out why my new phone did not work with the sim it came with and if possible, activate my e-sim. The moment they got my intention,the 2 store girls put on their mean faces and said $10 is needed to activate my e-sim. I can feel that they were just unwilling to help and wanted to get rid of me quickly. The activation process is totally free through T-Mobile customer care, so I questioned them about the "labor fee". The answer was that they had to make profits. If they could just send me to customer care, I think it's still better than trying to charge me $10 for something free (especially with mean faces). I actually did it at home and found out it was a breeze. I am glad I did not do this with them. I would say unless you really want someone to help you in Chinese, avoid this store. read more

I been here three times and I never have to wait in line! The salesmen knows exactly what they are doing because I always leave their store satisfied. I am so happy to find a T-Mobile store that is close to home and has good service. Not only I didn't have to stand in line, the place was very organized and clean. All the demo phones were working properly so I was able to play around with it. I been an Android user all my life so all the phones I purchased from their store was always in stock. I never had to come back to check-in for a back order. This is good news for anyone! read more

This place really ranges from 3.5-4.5 stars from me...Anyhow, my family and I have been customers at PhoneX for 3 years already. It all started when my mom heard that PhoneX does a weekend "Spin-the-wheel" promo for every new line that you open (more on this later). She is a sucker for these prize drawing things and so am I. So off we went to PhoneX in San Gabriel. It's located on the second floor of a large plaza on Valley and Del Mar. Yes, the same plaza that Ranch 99 is in! The workers here are all very young and very...Asian. They speak very quickly, almost TOO quickly if you ask me. I have a feeling it's to confuse the heck out of you so you won't know if they are ripping you off or not. Nonetheless, they have a wide variety of phones. Definitely more so than other stores that I've visited. They don't have their phones displayed neatly or anything. All the models are scattered all around the room so you have to reach in between swarms of people to grab the one you want, bring it over to the person helping you, then they go to the stock room and grab you a new one. The deals PhoneX gives you depends on who you talk to. The girl who helped us today wanted to give us $500 rebate and charge us for SIM cards, but we talked her out of it when we explained that another company had offered us a better deal. I wasn't lying; I had pictures of the deal to prove it. Anyways, so today we opened 4 new lines (ugh, gotta inform my friends that I have a new # for the next 2 years), got two new phones (I think mine is ugly btw), didn't pay activation or sim card fees. Oh yah, they gave is $160 in rebates too. I guess that's a pretty good deal, but now I have to stick with my phone for 2 years...yes, I know I am complaining about a phone I chose. I swear, I was forced to choose it because my mom wanted a rebate! Had she not been griping about the cost, I would have chosen the sexy looking Sony Ericsson K660i. OK, so the wheel....you are basically a winner every time you spin. There's LCD TVs, Ipods, Ipod Nanos, thermos, pressure cookers, fans, table lamps, $10 gift certificates to Dodoro Cafe (the restaurant that inspired me to start Yelping...don't go there...it's crappy!), etc. The prizes change often. Oh yes, there's also a bunch of Chinese radio hosts that broadcast live from PhoneX whenever there are prize drawings. Some people were starstruck by these radio hosts. I was not. I just wanted to end my very long day and get out of San Gabriel. Btw, if you are claustrophobic or anthropophobic, don't go to PhoneX during peak hours. It gets really, really crowded! P.S. T-Mobile is currently doing a promo where you can get a free airplane ticket for 2009 (no blackout dates) if you open a new line or something like that. read more

No star! I didn't check out that long-hair young woman's name tag, when I was in the store. She was very very very rude to me! I only needed to ask them some questions regarding to the phone plans and new phones. I also needed them to help me to change the SIM cards. But she told me, "You have come here for more than two times today. What do you want? We don't accept certain phones." The third time when I visited the store in the afternoon, I didn't tell them what exactly I wanted them to help me with, but she just jumped to conclusion, and she screamed at me. I told her, "I am not asking you whether you will buy back the LG phone. I only want to switch the SIM cards from one phone to another. I don't have any tools." She was irritated. She replied back with anger, "You can just use a toothpick to take out the SIM cards yourself." I am T-Mobile's long-term customer, but this young woman really made me mad for her extremely horrible customer service! If I am the store manager, I will fire her immediately. She got paid to do the work, then she must help the customers to get the work done! I will never return to this store! read more

Do not go to this store. They lie and they add service onto your account without your permission. I went there the other day to get an iPhone BOGO offer. They lied to me saying that I will need to add a protection plan for both devices in order to be eligible. I later on called 611 and they told me it's not necessary, and removed them for me. Then the next day. I got a text saying that a protection plan was added back on. I checked my T-Mobile and it says that a protection plan was added via a store rep. They are doing it without my permission! read more

They did not greet us with arrogance or hostility as did other t mobile stores. Come here, you can even call in ahead of time to check if they're busy at the moment before heading in. I have had AT&T service for many years. Even with discount, I was paying about $160 per month for 3 lines, with 4GB shared data. I needed to add another line, and found out that T-Mobile has a deal for 4 line with unlimited data for $160 including tax and fee. I walked in one day and met Alex. He explained me the plan they offered. My phone was still under contract, so I couldn't switch immediately. AT&T mixed up my and my daughter's phones, so unlocking my phone took more than a week and 8 calls to customer service. Alex contacted me few times via text offering me to help, but since it was a screw-up by AT&T, he couldn't do anything. After my phone was unlocked, went to the store and Alex helped me with switching accounts. He was patient and very helpful. read more

Wow...this T-Mobile store has one of the best customer service I have ever come across. I walked into this store to ask about the promotion they were having and Frankie was super helpful and knowledgeable. Since I had to go back to San Francisco the next day, Frankie suggested that I open up a T-mobile account in case the promotion is over in March since it was already February 27th. So I decided to open up a T-Mobile account that day and Frankie was trying to unlock our phones. Since it would take 2 business days to get our phones unlocked by AT&T he said he would contact us as soon as that happens. He then had one of his colleagues, Vivian, contact me to follow up on our phones and porting our numbers over the following week. I really appreciated all their help with my new account and the excellent customer service that they provided me.
