After…read moreweeks of delays and false promises, UBreakIFix told me that the logic board was damaged and as a result, I would need to pay for a replacement logic board, screen, and keyboard. In addition, my data would be unrecoverable. So, after doing my own research into logic board repairs for my specific model, I learned that it was possible to fix my MacBook and recover my data. So, after searching for local specialists, I found ThinqMac. My first conversation with one of their employees immediately made me feel that I was in good hands. The gentleman corroborated a lot of the information I had found out through my own research. The technicians ran some tests on my computer and eventually sent it out to a company that specializes in logic board repair. In the end, after being told by UBreakIFix and Apple that my data was unrecoverable and my computer would never turn on again, the folks at ThinqMac proved them wrong. My computer has been as good as new for the last 4 months and I was able to recover my data. Don't waste your time anywhere else, the folks at ThinqMac know what they are doing. Thank you again!

The staff were friendly, but unfortunately that's where my positive feedback ends…read more I waited in line for over 30 minutes just to return an internet box. There were three employees behind the counter, yet there seemed to be no sense of urgency or effort to move the line efficiently. For the first 10 minutes alone, I watched two employees assist a single customer while the third employee stood nearby making small talk with that same customer. The conversation revolved around the customer survey and where they were from (the Bronx or New Jersey), rather than helping the growing line of customers waiting for service. During that time, the third employee also received two phone calls from what I assume was a manager asking how many people were in line, which made the lack of urgency even more frustrating. From a customer perspective, this seemed like a management issue. Why not have one employee dedicated to quick drop-offs and equipment returns, which made up a large portion of the line, while the other two handled more complex customer needs? Instead, an excessive amount of time was spent discussing the customer satisfaction survey and encouraging customers to complete it. Ironically, I never even received the survey, so I'm leaving my feedback here instead. My recommendations are simple: improve time management, minimize unnecessary conversations while customers are waiting, and utilize all three employees effectively. The third employee could have been helping customers instead of chatting with people who were already being assisted. In fact, the line might have moved faster if that employee had simply opened another register. While I was waiting, two customers became so frustrated that they left without being helped. Another customer mentioned he was on his lunch break and had already stopped by once earlier just to return equipment but had to leave again because the wait was so long. He brought a fold out chair with him as he was anticipating a long wait once again. Finally, don't assume that everyone returning equipment is canceling service and therefore isn't a priority. In my case, I wasn't switching providers--I had simply moved and needed to return my old equipment. I actually kept Optimum (though experiences like this make that decision harder to justify). This location could provide a much better customer experience with stronger management, better workflow, and a greater focus on serving customers rather than carrying on unnecessary conversations while the line continues to grow.

Hands down Terrible Customer Service and Impossible to Cancel…read more If I could give it negative stars I would! Optimum takes the cake for the worst customer service and longest hold times I've ever dealt with. Trying to cancel my service has been an absolute nightmare. I've called multiple times, been put on hold for over an hour, transferred from department to department, and still no resolution. Each representative gives different answers, and not one of them is able--or willing--to help. What's even more frustrating is the complete refusal to let me speak with a manager. Every time I ask, I'm told a supervisor will call me back, but of course, no one ever does. It feels like they make it intentionally difficult to cancel or get real help, hoping customers will just give up. This company has no respect for people's time or money. They're quick to charge for poor service, but when it comes to support or accountability? Crickets. Avoid Optimum at all costs. It's not worth the stress. I was under the impression my service was cancelled only to learn im being billed for service I do not receive at a residence I no longer own.

What was supposed to be a routine pickup and walk out, resulted in these morons taking it upon themselves to activate both new phones while they were still boxed. Now, this may not seem like a big deal but it is a big deal when one of the new upgrades belongs to my wife's line who was all the way in New York and now had a phone with no service and no way to reach our nanny or kids. When I brought this to the staff's attention I was treated by the most lackluster, don't give a crap attitude, that I've ever experienced at a retail store. After the employee who did it had no answer, the "manager" Russell proceeded to take ZERO ownership of his staff's actions and basically told me it wasn't his problem. I told him, I was never told this would happen nor did I request they activate the phones prematurely. He answers "that's what happens when you order online", which I know to be completely false and was later confirmed to me after I called AT&T corporate and complained about this store's actions and Russell's complete lack of professionalism in dealing with the situation. I was told by AT&T that not only did Russell completely fumble the issue, he DID have a way to fix it if he "had been properly trained to be a manager". I had to leave before I blew my top and ended up on the evening news, but I promise you, Russell, your actions will not go unaddressed. I was given all the necessary information by AT&T corporate to report your actions and your staff's actions and I intend to. The stress you put me through, being an AT&T customer for over a decade, was completely uncalled for and you are not fit to be a manager of that store, let alone a taco stand.

The caucasian female (I don't know her pronouns) told us inside that she's shutting down soon even though the window says the store doesn't close until 8:30pm because she has been working 16 hours. I work 16 hours at my job all the time. That's how I've been able to spend literally thousands at GameStop on games, consoles, peripherals, and collectibles. I then ask if Chris is working and she instantly gets an attitude and proceeds to air out the dirty laundry that Chris was fired due to stealing (I have it all on video) I also have Chris's info and will be forwarding him this video as well. I never even knew Chris was fired from GameStop until today. Now every job I've ever had you DON'T talk smack about a former employee to a room full of other customers. That is unacceptable and unprofessional. I then ask for her name and she refuses. You can even see on video where she detaches her name tag from her lanyard. She then even threatens to call the police, even though I have the entire interaction on video. I will never step foot in this GameStop location ever again and I will also tell my friends, family, and co-workers which is many.

Johnny helped us, and was patient, accommodating, etc. etc. He installed screen protectors like a pro. I can't say enough good things about working with him -- he even had an associate drive to another store to get me the exact phone color I wanted so that I wouldn't have to come back another day... and he stayed for 90 minutes after closing, on a holiday, to make sure we were 100% set, with all data transferred, prior to leaving. It was truly the most stress-free phone-buying experience I have every encountered. The one caveat -- not quite enough to subtract a full star, but worthy of mention (I wish I could award 4 1/2 stars...) -- is that it does not seem that the store is fully upfront about fees. I had asked multiple times what extra fees there would be, and never really got an answer -- it wasn't until everything was set up that I learned of the per-line setup fees imposed by Verizon (non-negotiable I understand, but it should have been disclosed), plus the "Set up and Go" fee apparently imposed by authorized retailers. TBH the fee was reasonable ($50), given all the time he spent with us, including helping us make arrangements to get phones to family members who are currently in other states... but, again, it should have been disclosed. Just a heads-up to others to insist that you are given all fees upfront, especially when working with authorized retailer in lieu of a corporate store, since they seem discretionary. One additional note: I did have an interaction with a nearby corporate store which was horrendous (and dishonest), so I have no regrets about working with Johnny and the Darien Wireless Zone, and will return!

Do not buy your phone from this authorized Verizon retailer. Go to a corporate Verizon or Apple…read morestore instead. My experience at the Darien authorized retailer was extremely disappointing. I purchased a new phone one week before leaving on a two-week international trip. I specifically told the salesperson about my upcoming travel because I already had Verizon's international travel plan and wanted to make sure it remained on my account. Instead, the salesperson removed my international plan without my knowledge or permission. That employee is no longer with the store, but the mistake resulted in hundreds of dollars in unexpected international charges. I have now spent three days working with both the Darien store and Verizon customer service trying to get this corrected. Rather than simply acknowledging and fixing what appears to have been an employee error, I was told customer service was "negotiating" on my behalf--as if this were a goodwill request instead of correcting a mistake. This experience convinced me to return my phone under Verizon's 30-day Buyer's Remorse policy and switch to T-Mobile. I am now paying $45/month on its 55+ plan (or $70/month for the premium option with more hotspot data, international features, and streaming benefits), and the overall experience has been significantly better. My advice: if you choose Verizon, work directly with a corporate Verizon store rather than an authorized retailer. Double-check every change made to your account before you leave the store.
