It was a weird experience for me in this store. I came in with a problem with my SIM card. I was greeted by the African American guy right away. But he was helping someone else and another girl staff helped me. She checked my account and helped solve my problem very quickly. The girl that helped me was so nice. She offered me the T-Mobile Tuesday water bottle. The weird part was the guy asked her right away something along the line of "why are you trying to be so nice?" It was weird and I felt very awkward. We bought a full package with 5 iPhone pro 3.5 years ago and had a great experience with sales person Ashley, who is no longer here . A recent visit at the store exposed serious training issue with this location. Sales person (C), in the middle of discussing our options for upgrades, opted to pick up the phone and talk to someone who called in at lengths, ignoring customers in front of him. The lack of common sense is abhorrent. Really need to overhaul their training program. We will be looking at Verizon and AT&T now. read more

When I pulled up the closest store this one came up. It's in the mall at UTC. I needed to upgrade my note 8 as I couldn't use a app to follow my dogs blood sugar. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the gentleman that helped me was awesome. He helped me pick the right phone for me, and switched all my data from my old phone. I wouldn't even give one star, but this is the only choice I have Cancellation Process: I found the process to cancel my contract quite inconvenient. It required remembering a six-digit number, which proved to be a challenge. It would be more customer-friendly if there were alternative methods or easier ways to process cancellations. 2. Final Bill Payment: When I couldn't remember the six-digit number, I had to pay my final bill in person, which incurred an additional $5 processing fee. It was disappointing to be charged extra for something that could have been resolved more smoothly. I believe T-Mobile is out to scam customers shame on you. read more

All their wonderful top notch people were replaced practically overnight with newly hired folks in Vietnam and South America who spoke marginal English, were just learning their jobs., and would work for peanuts. It seemed that several times a year I would be over charged for something. When I visited a Sprint corporate store, the charges would always be corrected, however I eventually figured out they did this as a strategy and counted on many customers not bothering to complain. Ashley helped my entire family switch over from AT&T to a TMobile Business Plan, and she's awesome when I have questions. I called the store the other day and she picked up and helped me switch my phone's SIM card to an eSIM (electronic SIM) in anticipation of international trip. It took about 10 minutes max and she made the process super quick and painless! I switched over from AT&T last year and never understood their eSIM transition process; they were not very good at explaining over the phone and I didn't feel completely comfortable with it. I would recommend you switch if you don't want to use two phones (for work/personal use, or different data plans abroad); you will be able to choose which number to use from the two options (eSIM or physical SIM) every time you initiate a call. Calls to both numbers will appear on your phone. She walked me through it and I did it via Settings on my iPhone. Afterwards, she gave me a quick rundown of what to look out for (e.g. data abroad is free under my Business plan, but calls will cost a bit of money per minute unless it's a WhatsApp or Facetime call). Ashley's patience and quick-thinking make her an excellent customer service professional and I am 100% happy with my choice to switch over to TMobile as long as I'm able to meet and chat with reps like her. She saved me a TON of money during my trip by taking the time to answer my question. Just another corporation that DOES NOT CARE about people. My folks closed our family account months back, but since my number wasn't "ported out" along with theirs, charges accrued for MONTHS without our knowledge -- this, AFTER the account was closed!? We spent hours on the phone with unhelpful people. I thought connecting with someone in person would help, then I was told *flat out* at this store that we could not dispute the charges. Stay away from T-Mobile. I was with Verizon for about 8 years before switching last year. I just purchased my iPhone X Jan 2018 from Verizon and ended up giving T mobile a chance not long after. Phone fully paid off. Once I joined T mobile it was a disaster. My calls were distorted, dropping and most of all when I try placing calls at times, it would continuously say CALL FAIL about 20 plus times in a row. First T mobile excuse: we have great service it looks like we have tower work going on in your area that is why this is happening. How about we send a signal booster for your home to help with this during our work on the towers. Fast Forward 4 months later Second T mobile excuse: Looks like we still have work going on with the towers we should try resetting a few things for you to help improve your calls..... Didn't work. Third T mobile excuse: Try switching SIM cards that should work. Looks like we still have tower work going should be done soon. STILL DIDN'T WORK Fourth T mobile excuse: let's try getting someone from our tech team to trouble shoot this again for you. STILL DIDN'T WORK Fast Forward To 2019 Still having issues and they stated they were going to try trouble shooting again but never heard back. I reached back out as it's been getting worse and someone stated it's because the phone was from Verizon but should try buying one of their phones. I advised them that's not what I want to do because I just purchased my phone from Verizon. Why would I want to pay more money out? They make adjustments but I'm having terrible cell service. I finally snapped because I couldn't place any of my calls for the span of 2 hours and the manager messages me saying he was going to help me and would credit me the phone for free and I would just have to pay a restocking fee. I reached back out to take them up on the offer and someone was helping me and told me I let her know when I wanted to go into the store for my new phone. I went into this store and was told everything was notated and all I had to do was get the phone. I stopped in after work and Hassan was there. I mentioned it to him and he was a jerk. He wouldn't even look up the memo and stated I would have to put something down that day. I informed him that wasn't the agreement with t mobile and he said well I can't move forward without something down. I said check the memo like they told me to tell him and he refused to check the memo. I was frustrated and said I'll just have them place if via over the phone plus they didn't have the color I wanted in store. I got back home called and guess what? They saw no record of a free phone mentioned to me. I even verified over the phone before going to the store by asking so the phone is covered? Yes! And here's the other kicker ever signal message except that conversation from that day was there. Someone at T mobile removed that message and they claim they are going to get to the bottom of it. I can't trust T mobile anymore. They had to check as there was new changes and needed to find out more. But my thing is why the heck l was this message removed from T mobile. Phone service has been so bad I've been paying to use my minute phone to take to Mexico or paying someone else to use theirs a few moments and that adds up. It now adds up. T mobile is a bunch of crooks. I will reporting to the Better Business Bureau as well. read more

Absolutely terrible service. Warning!!! Do not ever get a new phone from here and try to do a trade in. NiCO - Was the representative that assisted me. I tried to trade in my phone for a new one. Spent more than an hour in store and did the whole thing. She assured me everything was done and that i will receive my new phone in the mail and then i just have to ship my old one. Well, that is a complete LIE. I got my new phone but for some reason they didnt do the trade in and i will have to pay for this phone in full. Tmobile customer service gave me the run around as well. I talked to multiple agents and everyone had something different to say. One of them instructed me to go back to the same store so they could reprocess everything and hand over the old phone to them as the trade in phone. I had to drive 30 mins away to the SAME tomobile la jolla utc store i purchased from even though they have so many! When I got there, they told me that all i could do is return the phone completely and wait in the mail for a new one. Mind you, ive already transferred everything to this new phone before i knew all this, bought a case, etc. Now, listen to this logic...i was told i had to return the s23 and wait for a new one and THEN do the trade in. Mind you, i already had the S23 they shipped me and they couldnt just reprocess everything and take the old phone as a trade in all in one transaction? Nope, guess that is too logical. They would rather, you start all over again, literally. Even when they dropped the ball!!! They would not even give any kind of compensation for all of this. Oh wait, they told me they will be waving my restocking fee for returning the phone that i didnt want to return in the first place but now am forced to, in order to get my trade in credit. So generous of them to wave that. So I decided i dont want the trade in and all the trouble this has brought me so i just wanted to return the phone. SANDY - store manager. The one who generously said they will not charge me restocking fee for the return has taken her word back and said she will not be waving it after all, since im not doing a purchase anymore and just wanted to return. $70 restocking fee that I didn't even know about (no one said anything) since I returned the phone within the 14 day period and now have to pay!!!! Btw, both Sandy and Nico left while I was with tmobile customer service elevating the issue. You would think a manager would wait and resolve the issue or mitigate, but nope, I had to make the return with some other agent who didn't know much about it. Stellar customer service management! This is just absolutely terrible customer service. So you've been warned, do not go to this store for a new phone purchase/trade in. Unless you wanna have a horrible experience. Every step of this transaction was a LIE. For every agent that i talked to, its a different process. Never again. I'm writing to share my gratitude to the wonderful team at the UTC store, and namely Ashley. A few weeks back, my husband and I went into the T-Mobile store there to inquire about our options for switching service from AT&T to T-Mobile. We've been with AT&T for almost 12 years and while we never had terrible service or customer relations with them, we've realized more and more that our monthly bills kept going up and up, and we weren't really seeing any increase in services or benefits. Ashley was professional and efficient in explaining the pros of switching to T-Mobile. She wasn't pushy or giving us the hard sell, which is always appreciated. She was patient with all my questions, and asked us what we were looking for. When she found out that my husband was a veteran she immediately explained T-Mobile's veteran discount, and was kind enough to redo some of the math we'd worked out comparing AT&T to T-Mobile. What sealed the deal however was that she actually encouraged us not to just up and switch immediately. Reviewing our AT&T phone bill, she noted that we'd end up spending more money out of pocket that day than waiting for a deal on the iPhones we wanted to upgrade to. I've been to a lot of different shops for lots of different services, and most salespeople are determined to close the deal right then and there - whether it's in the best interest of the customer or not, long term. Ashley thought of what would be best for our bottom line, and was candid in her assessment. If that's the kind of customer service we can expect from T-Mobile going forward, I'm even happier that we made the switch. Once we returned to open our T-Mobile account, Ashley was patient again in walking us through each step. She shared a phone number where we could text her while we waited for our phones to arrive before we ported our numbers over. She truly went above and beyond, and ultimately made the entire experience stress-free, easy, and inviting. I want to also share that on the final day of our setup process, she had to go home a little early since she wasn't feeling too well. Despite that, she arranged for her co-worker Bryan to be ready to assist us. (He did wonderfully by the way, and was also another great experience for us.) And even later on that evening, when she should've probably been knocked out cold from some Nyquil or hovering over a bowl of chicken noodle soup, she reached out to confirm everything went well, and provided us with some great info on our swap from AT&T. I've become accustomed to remaining somewhat skeptical and cynical of certain types of services. I rarely get excited about having to choose between internet and cable providers for home service because I tend to find that they're usually 6-of-one, half-a-dozen of another. I freely admit that this transition to T-Mobile had me excited and eager to the customer benefits I'm looking forward to in the years ahead. That's all thanks to Ashley! read more

The rant: Where to start? The deal on data roaming outside the US (plus free calls to the US if you're on Wifi) convinced me. The guys who switched my phone at UTC were great. But the actual phone service? Miserable. Y'all remember how Jack Bauer in 24 could make a call from the middle of nowhere on his smart phone? He obviously didn't have T-Mobile. T-Mobile drops calls in freaking San Diego. Downtown. In La Jolla, In Pacific Beach. In my own front yard!!! It gets worse. T-Mobile sent me a survey about their service. I replied honestly. It sucks. So tonight about 8:30 I get a robo-call from T-Mobile. "The results of your survey indicate that you may be eligible for a service upgrade at work or at your residence. Please hold on till an agent can talk to you." Sucker that I am, I held on. For a long time. Listening to jaunty, up-beat music. This is a synopsis of the conversation. T-Mobie: "This is Dan G. How may I direct your call." Me: "I didn't call you, you called me." I then explained the robo-call etc, etc. T-Mobile: "Please give me all sorts of info so we can confirm you are you." Me: I give the guy my full name and then ask "and what's your full name, sir?" T-Mobile: "We don't give out our last names. Just Dan G." Then he says, "Charles, what's your business' tax ID number and the password for the account." Me: "Dude, you can call me Mr. S, and you freaking called me at home at 8:30 at night. I'm not at the office and don't have that info. Please call me back during office hours Pacific Time." T-Mobile: "We don't do call back, You'll need to call us.:" Me. "No, thanks," and I hang up. So 30 minutes later it dawns on me that I should have asked to speak to this guy's supervisor. I call the 800 number that my phone showed as having call me. I get a recording. "Please call back during office hours." Ha! I deserved it being such a sucker. If you've read this far, you don't have enough to do with your life. But the one thing you need to remember: T-Mobile's coverage sucks. Whew. I feel better. read more

This review is solely for the specific store and its staff, not the company itself. After a surprisingly decent experience setting up a switch over at another T-Mobile nearby, there were still a couple of things we wanted to check on and because we were passing through the area on the way to SD, we went to this store. We should have kept driving. Three things: don't come here if you're claustrophobic, don't come here if you want to deal with questionable service, just don't come here. First of all, the space and location: terrible For a national company to set up a corporate branch location in a tiny, windowless, kiosk within a mall like UTC is beyond my comprehension. One would except for them set up a store that can at least accommodate a good flow of customers. No, not here though. If you ask me, they took a space that would be more suited to a general mall service like Information or Security since it has the potential to actually have windows that overlook the malls. But, because it's a phone carrier, the would-be windows have hooks with products scattered across them, mostly behind the counter. With no storage room, the place is just a complete mess. Excuse my language, but I have never seen such a clusterf*** like this. Secondly, the customer service is beyond awful. There is barely enough room for a handful of people, but somehow they managed to fit 5 staff members, 4 guys and 1 girl, plus customers. Because of the store's claustrophobic nature, you can hear every other customer's questions (and complaints) within direct earshot. So of course we couldn't help but overhear the girl speaking to a customer with a condescending tone about their product choice. When we were finally "helped," the guy spoke to us in a similar manner, not suggesting, but telling us what we should do because he knew better. We ended up declining and finding another store. Too much attitude and not enough space. Save your time and sanity and stay away. This business is a fire hazard and should be closed or relocated. read more

I went in to the T Mobile store on Sunday to inquire about the availability. Apparently it is scarce because everyone wants this damn phone, ugh. After getting the necessary items together to get the it...I went in earlier today, after a stressful day at work, ready to get my Google phone charged to my T Mob account, as I called last night to verify that I could. Of course, the dumb asses at Customer Care misinformed me so I left the store since I didnt want to charge it to my credit card and I dont happen to be rich just yet. After swindling a small loan from the parents I decided to sprint all the way back to La Jolla from PB and pick up the phone. It was SWELTERING hot in that store so of course my brain was extremely agitated. Id had a rough day, I was HOT, hungry and just overall agitated. I was going over the new contract with the man ONE hundred times to make sure my information was correct. As I told the sales rep, I do not like discrepancies. So after about half an hour in a cram packed little hut with tons of people and questions myself and the Google phone surprise were on our way. read more

Do not trust the employees at this location. They are poor in communications and in executing on assistance for customers. Jason Paris was given my device buy out bill from Verizon and he informed me that I would receive compensation by late February/early March. I gave him the materials and my social security number to submit the claim. He assured me that it would get done. I called T-Mobile to check in and NO CLAIM WAS SUBMITTED. This is pure negligence and disregard for the customer. In addition, prior to this multiple emails were sent to Jason with no response. Jason was supposedly on vacation, yet no autoresponder was set up and no acknowledgement of the email was given when he returned from vacation. DO NOT GIVE JASON PARIS YOUR BUSINESS. The UTC T-Mobile team is only friendly when they are selling their devices and not when a customer actually needs assistance. I had hope that T-Mobile was for the customer, but they are just like any other big corporation that is only concerned about profit and money. T-Mobile touts that they have good customer service (at the UTC location there is even a frame with a quote about customer service signed by their employees), but it is all words and no action. Just another smoke screen hiding their ineffectiveness. This is NOT the way to treat a new customer. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Terrible service. Everytime I have come for an upgrade I was asked to come back. The last time I came back they said they would have to put in a ticket since their system wasn't working and would call me back. 48 hours later no call back and I called back for an update I received a bad attitude, no updates and a condescending manager Kyle who had no idea what was going on.
