About the end of July 2023, I visted the other AT&T store in the University Mall in South Burlington Vermont. At that time a gentleman named, Mark Gibbs worked there. I had an Iphone 13 pro, and Mark talked me into trading it in for an Android Galaxy Fold 4. He told me if I traded in my iphone, It would take a good chunk off of my bill. Well, to make a very long story short, Mark (whom has since been fired) not only pocketed my iphone, he canceled the trade in and he only turned in an old android that was only worth $6.00. I didn't even know that happened until I saw a huge bill for my iphone & AT&T Informing me I owed an aditional $550.00 and claiming I never traded in my iphone!! Obviously shocked, I reached out to Mark, and he assured me that was some kind of mistake, and said he most certainly did trade my iphone in. He is a liar, and that's just one of many reasons he lost his job. I was put through the biggest run around from the AT&T store in the University mall for MONTHS!! A worker named Gavin and his so called, "manager" Tim (whom I have since been told was never an actual manager) put me through HELL, and that's putting it lightly!! For months, they gaslighted me about this whole situation, and gave me the run around and would refuse to take the huge charge for the iphone off my bill. They even acknowledged they knew what Mark had done, but they just would not take the time or efforts to fix it when they had every capability to fix it. I could go on and on writing about the lies and running around they put me through for all these months! Even when AT&T was about to shutbme off because of the $550.00 on the bill, Gavin and Tim STILL didn't care, and continued to lie and give the run around. Tim, a who is a complete unprofessional, coward, wouldn't even return my phone calls, he would relay messages through Gavin, and Gavin straight up ended up telling me, "Tim doesn't want to help you; no one here is going to help you" then he LIED and told me Tim was at a booth at the job fair if I wanted to talk to Tim in person, but Tim was never actually there, Gavin just wanted to get rid of me! Absolutely HORRIBLE to treat a long time and faithful customer in her 70's this way. It wasn't until Deanne Cejka talked to me that anything got done! Deanne was helpful, compassionate, caring, understanding, and went well above and beyond the call of duty to rectify this fraud that done to me, even though it had NOTHING to do with her! Deanne still spent weeks, days and many hours to get this fixed!! FINALLY, Tuesday 10/24/2023, after another 2 hours spent with me, Deanne was successful with getting this fraudulent $550.00 OFF MY BILL!!!! I can't even begin to express the emotions and utter relief I felt after being treated so UNPROFESSIONAL and poorly by the University Mall AT&T in South Burlington, Vermont!! Literally MONTHS of stress gone, THANKS to Deanne's willingness to give the utmost amazing customer service!! she didn't give up and she took this fraud very serious, unlike, Gavin and Tim!! I had to leave this amazing review about Deanne!! She is such an angel, and I honestly can't thank her ENOUGH! She is the reason I didn't cancel with AT&T; after being a faithful and loyal customer for well over, 20 something years (or whenever Unicell switched to AT&T) and go with Verizon. He also demanded to know where I had gotten the phone. When I tried to explain that I was an Verizon customer and had gotten an upgrade online, he was unprofessional and abrasive- cutting me off and shoving the box at me over the counter. He would not let me explain what I needed. I left and went to the Verizon in Williston and was helped in a calm and professional manner. The problem was solved within 15 minutes and the Verizon employee in Williston neither yelled, interrupted or shoved the box at me.

Hostile Management - Disrespectful to Disabled Veterans and the elderly…read more I have lived in Burlington for more than 20 years and have shopped at this store for that long, but I will never step foot in this Staples again. I was treated with utter contempt by the Assistant Manager, Philip Bosley. After a simple shipping error, he began yelling at me and calling me names like "loser" and an "a-hole" trying to convince me it was my fault for the error when I returned a small box of $300 ink to the store Monday night where they put the Staples shipping label on a box and by Wednesday the same box was sent to my house not to Staples. As a disabled veteran, I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic human decency. Instead, I was publicly humiliated when the manager used the store's intercom to announce an "incident" while I was sitting quietly waiting for the police he called. He even gave the police the wrong car's license plate (my neighbor's). If you are a veteran or a senior, be careful at this location. Philip's 23 years at this company have clearly left him with zero customer service skills and a lack of respect for those who served. I'll be taking my business to the Williston store or elsewhere from now on. I even called the next morning and asked to speak to the store manager when Philip said he would call the police again for calling the store and was still yelling at me. I would assume the store manager would be just as rude and diss respectful due to the fact that he never called me about the incident. I also called the so called Staples Office of the President in Kentucky and they said they would do an "investigation" including looking at the stores camera and reviewing the police report because the police report would state what the THREE officers saw when they showed up. I think it takes a month to get a police report so I know for a fact they did neither. And knowing that Staples is a privately owned company based in Massachusetts I found it odd that the so called Staples Office of the "President" was in Kentucky. Also their customer service is based in the Philippines call them at their main phone number 1-800-333-3330 and find out yourselves you do not have to take my word for it. Also I am letting the store know that I am not just "venting" online, but that I am taking formal action. First by posting to the Better Business Bureau, which I told them why is Staples not registered with them like most legitimate businesses are AND I am contacting the Human Rights Commission. In my 20 years living in Burlington, Vermont I notice a blatant diss respect to the military and veterans so I think they need a lesson in respect.
